Seeing Squeex absolutely despise the puzzle and then PointCrow absolutely adore it and eat it up is such a massive contrast. It was a lot of fun to watch Richelle struggle with it.
To be fair to him "ISTAN" and "ASWIM" were pretty annoying answers lol. His crossword was way more jank than the others

Stanz needs to make NL’s with the most obscure references and the most difficult words possible

And the later parts of the gauntlet reference the earlier parts, i.e. a clue in connections as "across words in the first crossword"
Making the puzzles accidentally too hard and forcing people who are otherwise not into them to play them are the two most common mistakes for puzzle designers. Pointcrow has shown he likes them, just do another one for pointcrow 😊

Crosswords are hard to make. There are also conventions that experienced solvers expect to be followed.

I do agree with all the other comments saying that you'll get better results making puzzles for people that like puzzles already, but watching people mald at puzzles is very entertaining too. I think it would be neat to see multiple people get the same puzzle and whoever does the best gets some reward

It wasn’t a flash in the pan but crossword puzzles are just harder to make specialized to the person. Connections or even like the spangrams style word search is easier to make
I absolutely love these Puzzles for your friends videos. Maybe you could make a few different types of puzzle about you. Then see who gets the best time out of 4-6 friends?

really loved the connections video, this one less, but this is probably bcs crosswords are maybe one of the hardest puzzles to make, especially themed like this. excited to see other puzzle types though, or just another connections video :)

This is not intended at a dig of the other content, but I just love the principle behind making things you think others will enjoy and it's super fun to watch since MAKING a puzzle is a puzzle itself. Very engaging content and I've truly loved both videos of this so far. I really hope you'll do more.

When making cross word clues, make sure to put the number of letters per words in brackets e.g. ISTAN, should have (1,4) after the clue.

If the answer is two words, then the clue usually says that. Stuff like A Swim or In Ink is tough if you're only expecting one word!
I agree with you, but have you done NYT Crosswords? (mini or regular) They specifically never shout out when it is more than one word, can be many words and they don't acknowledge so in the clue.
If you are seasoned with NYT crosswords (and certain other publications) part of the puzzle is solving multiple word answers without having the extra information. Sounds annoying from the outside looking in, but when you get into the nitty gritty of 'crosswordese' its all part of the fun.
