This is my first Tag Heuer Monaco homage and given the overall sense of a fashion watch surrounding this, it cannot be further from the truth. They also featured in GQ magazine so that must count for something.

I like square watches, nice to see something that is not a diver watch.
Just recently discovered this watch and your channel. Thanks for the great review. The Chronograph 2 is very appealing in all of the key areas that would motivate me to buy it. The "checkered flag" inspired finer indices on the dial took a moment to understand, but I like the look now. It's understandable that Momentum wants to distinguish itself from the original, but I do wish they'd switch to the square subdials versus the round, which, as you note, struggle to fit in the greater dial face. Also, a running second hand would be the icing on the cake and provide some motion to a racing inspired watch versus the otherwise "parked" look without movement. I'm waiting for the reissue now as all versions sold out. Kudos to Momentum for a great looking watch.
They've been more in the spotlight recently with their skin divers and people are noticing them more and more. I loved the Square 1 and it is quite unique, I'll give you that! Thanks again for the comment and support.
I almost pulled the trigger on this several times, but couldn’t get past the lack of running seconds. I love chronos, and love the Monaco, but the lack of running seconds was ultimately the dealbreaker. Hoping that’s something they can change perhaps on a future version.
Excellent review of an OK if overpriced watch. I have the Accurist 7366 Retro Racer Sports Chronograph, retails for £129, well finished, attractive design and functional. Perform the same role in your collection and much better value

A quick glance at the thumbnail made me think this was the square Pagani design! (I don't remember the model number.)

I saw a Specht & Sohne version of this on Aliexpress but it looked too thick. 13mm, hardlex crystal but about $73.

@@WatcheswithGeorge agree water resistance, crystal / specs are better with this one. Do think I would prefer a smoother sweeping VK movement.

I like the Monaco but this doesn’t do it for me. I don’t mind a good quartz, at this price, the movement seems like a shortcut, it doesn’t look like the second hand hits the markers, the date wheel isn’t framed or colour matched. The lume seems like an afterthought and if you do a square watch run the design into the corners, shame
Hey there. Thanks for the comment and support. The way I see it, it's a very hit and miss shape that will always get scrutiny and get compared with the real thing. After all, there wouldn't be square watches if the Monaco didn't exist. Thanks again.
