12lb springer caught on the fly | Dochfour | salmon fishing Scotland 2024 🏴

- The second of three salmon landed by local angler James, during an eventful day on the Ness.
A typical spring day in the Scottish Highlands, with all four seasons experienced during the course of our day.
A light North Easterly (upstream) wind ensured there was always a cold edge to the wind. Air temperature was 14 degrees and the water temperature was 12 degrees. The river was standing at minus 5.5" on our gauge, which is around plus 2.5" on the SEPA gauge at Ness Side.
A great result for James and another gentle reminder of how casting well and covering the water, will often reap its rewards.
Happy days ;)

What an absolutely stunning example of a pristine fresh fish, amazing! Congratulations and thank you for sharing.
I couldn’t agree more Colin, it looked as fresh as paint. We are very fortunate with our close proximity to the sea.
Wow ! That’s outstanding in anyones books 4 salmon . Well done . Think I might get that fly tied again and frame the original . Brilliant .
Couldn’t agree more Pete, it was only three salmon but nevertheless, 3 springers in a day would please the majority of people.
You’ll hopefully see the original fly in the next video, as I managed to capture James and his third salmon on video 😊🫡
Congratulations!! Great fish Cammy!
Many thanks Jim, straight from the mint that one 🙏❤️👍🏻
I have an affinity for mangled well chewed flies! They have proven themselves over and over! James, your smile after that release says it all! Tight lines from Canada! Mike
Cheers once again for your kind words Mike. What is your most commonly mangled pattern, James’s fly is a Ness C by the way!
@@CameronChapman I would say it is an old Brown Bomber which I use exclusively now on sulking fish that I can see...it is no longer pretty, but in my view it is the most beautiful fly I cast on our waters. PS That Ness C is well loved as well!
Wow freshhhhh!!
Straight from the mint 🙏❤️👍🏻
Fantastic fish well done 👍
Cheers Craig, many thanks 🙏❤️👍🏻
Nice fish well done James 🎣👍
Many thanks for your kindness Gary 🙏❤️👍🏻
Well done nice fish on a small fly
Many thanks for your kind words Peter
🙏❤️👍🏻
Another nice fresh fish on a sparsely dress fly. Well done.
Many thanks for your kind words Brian, our very clear water definitely seems to work well with more sparsely dressed patterns.
Well done lads fantastic fish god bless from Ireland 🇮🇪
Many thanks for your kind words Noel, very much appreciated. 🙏❤️👍🏻
As always, an excellent video, just shows how sparse a fly can be and still be effective. Well done James. Thanks for sharing Cameron.
Many thanks once again for your kind words @@ianhealey4181 , I couldn’t agree more with you and that’s exactly the point that James and I were trying to convey.
Hopefully you’ll see, in my next video of James’ third salmon, what the original fly looks like!
😊😊😊👍
🙏❤️👍🏻
Be good to see the dressing for that fly.
Watch out for the next video Duncan, you’ll see what the original looked like 👍🏻
