One thing I highly recommend for people who have not yet played this game (or for people who are struggling to be stealthy): Go into your settings and enable the noise indicator setting. It will show you how much noise you are emitting with every action so you can learn to be more stealthy. For example, people in this game tend to not notice that walking actually makes quite a bit of noise when compared to crouch-walking. Same with lockpicking or opening doors (compared to slowly opening them).
@@HEXdankmemes I wouldn't recommend it to ALWAYS be on. I also prefer as little HUD as possible for these types of games. But its especially helpful to use in a round or two (or at the very least, the intro like I did) just so you can get a basic understanding of how noise works in this game.
@Rip_KingOfficialAccount go all in on your b*tch-made difficulty bruh. Don't let me stop you. Some people just don't like challenge. I bet you're one of those who cry about difficulty related achievements
Fun fact: the lift gates can be lifted by a single player, even in multiplayer. It will remain up for the short duration to let you through. It prevents soft-locking in the event teammates die and you have no syringes. However, it doesn't have stipulations on when it works, so feel free to go into an area through it even when teammates are off in Wonderland.
I hope they make somewhat of a story campaign that you unlock after beating every level in every difficulty, to wrap up the game. It could be one final, epic level that shows the test subjects trying to escape the Murkoff facilities.
They kind of do, when you get 10 tokens from project X you can choose to be reborn, there is one last level it forces you to go solo to be “reborn” from the trials to go back out into society.

10:31 As an admin of the Outlast fan club since it was made (two weeks after the first game was released, 10 years ago), I say that this is Outlast at its finest for sure! We got most of the Red Barrels team on our fan club, and we're constantly discussing the game, the lore and the upcoming releases. I get it that there will always be that tryhard dude that goes like "uH, it'S nOT scArY iF yOu'rE nOT aLOnE", but does that really mean this can't be considered an Outlast game at all? According to the lore, we always knew that Murkoff conducted inhumane experiments with multiple test subjects in the 60s and 70s, but we never knew quite how. Now we have a game that puts us in the shoes of said subjects, it's perfect!
@ReKsuQ Why so condescending? I am paying attention... are you? 👋 I actually didn't know about the game until Insym's streams in the last few weeks. I don't have to know everything about all the games in the world; hence why I commented because the OP was intriguing, and I wanted the commenter to know that. You know how to put someone off something, that's for sure 👏 well done
@@DisturbedYoyo There absolutely is a LOT of lore! It's a bit overwhelming even, there are lots of found documents across the games (reading them can be a bit tiring). Basically, there's a company that does sick experiments to people under the rugs. It's known they did experiments up to the 70's (which this game depicts), but closed and reopened in the 2000's. On the first game (which takes place on september 17, 2013), an employee of said company (and protagonist of the DLC) had enough of all the sick things he saw there and sent an anonymous message to a journalist (the protagonist of the main game) so he could go there and expose to the world all the horrible things that are taking place there. I reccomend these games 100%! On a side note, there's nothing wrong with not knowing much about the lore. I just love the Outlast Series so muchhh. At first, I was afraid how the Outlast Trials would turn out 'cause I remember that the closed beta version was released last year and ppl had mixed feelings about it. So, kudos to the game developers who actually care about players' comments lol
This game is (in my opinion) easier to play solo than with other players! You don't have other players brining enemies across the map to your location, you have all the items just for you, you don't have to rely on others and its very easy to stealth through most levels! Also you get 3 lives in solo which makes it even easier!!! Also i noticed two things that you dont need to do within the first 3 minutes! You can just jump over the mine or walk slowly to the side of it, and then with the trapped door all you have to do is crouch and open it fast, the spike cant get you when you are crouched so there is no need to waste time slowly opening it 👍👍
You, CJ & Physco are Gamer Warriors🔥 Yah coop gameplay was the best team work I've seen yet. I'm nervous your going in alone but I'm sure watching you be stealth is going to be very entertaining 😄

Man, thank god they changed the Screecher that use to stun you with his scream. Now it just makes you drop a heavy item you're holding and you cover your ears from his screech while being slightly disoriented, BUT you can still walk away. Being completely immobilized by that scream was dumb.

The floors thing is the one and only thing I will agree with Americans on. If there is a floor below the first floor, then it is not the 'first' floor. The only exception to this is if there is a basement. So, if you want to call it the ground floor, cool, but the floor above it is the second floor. Heal rig is bad as your goal is to never get hit for better grades. Two other rigs make it easier to not get hit (and there is xray being the weakest rig of them all as you can use sound to tell where enemies are, xray is for collectable gathering)
Yeah it really is I only been playing solo since It got in early access. What's your favorite rig? There is actually a back entrance to get into the police station through the white van door that open. You can usually slide right into there before the guy even shows up.
I don’t like it as much as Outlast or Whistleblower but to me it doesn’t have as much story or the amazing characters. However, I feel aware that I’m saying this a viewer not a player and I am certain they are different experiences. I do think it’s v beautiful though!
Trials is made to be a multiplayer game and in my opinion it shouldn't be compared to the "Main-Games". They are working on the 3rd Outlast, which will be like the singleplayer games again. Thats why you don't have much story or amazing characters. You can find documents which give you more information about the Murkoff-Company and their doings though.
"This is not Outlast" I can explain that. What they're actually saying is " This is not what Outlast is supposed to be" like how Fallout 3 is compared to 2 or Dragon Age 2 compared to Dragon Age Origins. They changed the Outlast formula is upsetting to some people. Like you said some people don't want to play with a group just boot up a game in the middle of the night and get immersed.
