To summarize up the game, The radio tower (the building shown at the large lake) was the source coming from that large loud sound. It was for experimenting mind controlling. People who gets long time exposure starts to get hallucinating and experience events unique to them. It can also manipulate people depends on their mental, health and behaviour. This was the cause of the crazy people in the village. At the end the Lynn in the school place says "There's nothing there" Meaning there no child to begin with. The effects is bit related to the outlast 1 experimation
Yes! The effect is 100% related to the one in the first game, they're both the Morphogenic Engine But, while in the second game they use radio towers to mass apply it, they use static in the first game to apply it individually (you can often even see some crazies watching TV with no signal because of the static)
You also can see that there's no shadow for the baby to further prove that the baby didn't exist, but also towards the beginning Blake mentioned that he and Lynn hadn't even had sex for months so it was impossible for her to be pregnant in the first place.
This has to be the grossest game I’ve ever game. Falling into a pile of corpses with his hands smeared with blood and shit, then working his way past a bunch of syphilitics, amongst more terrible shit. Imagine the stench. Terrible day for Blake to have a nose
blake actually survives cause murkoff captures him at the end. much a worse fate than death if u ask me but he definitely died due to infections but idk
This game really is straight out disturbing. Like, "blood freezing in veins" disturbing. I think the first Outlast was better though. There are a lot of questions I had after finishing this game: how on Earth Lynn got pregnant and delivered in such a short time, and what happened at the end. The most reliable answer I've found is: the entire village was an experiment from that same company from the first Outlast game (can't remember the name) and the spiritual leader of the village, the one that killed himself in the end, was a scientist. The main character's trauma from childhood is pretty straightforward, and all the psychological trauma related to religion managed to resurface the childhood horrible experience he had. As for Lynn's child, it may be an hallucination: she had some kind of "fake" pregnancy and died from the wounds she got during that whole ordeal, OR died because she was so CONVINCED of her pregnancy that her body acted like she really was delivering, in some sort of extreme nocebo effect created by the who-knows-what kinda experiments they did on her. The sun "exploding" in the end wasn't an actual sun, but the nearby facility of said company, who decided to blow everything up to cover what happened. The reporter died in said explosion, and in the afterlife he gets reunited with that little girl who died in his child days.
The fake pregnancy thing was also in the first Outlast in one of the notes. That was the justification for no female wards or inmates in that game, as those fake pregnancies can prove fatal
there were some published comics about the story before the 2nd game released.. basically the "factory" you see midgame is the murdock company (the one with wallrider from the first game).. a nd these white flashes are signals from murdock, where they did experiments.. the villagers themself were friendly peoplle, but were brainwashed from murdock. same with blake himself he gets more psychotic the longer he gets these white flashes.. thats why he cant tell anymore whats real and a dream. and the fake pregnancy is a story to the first game.. in the first game were no woman, because wallrider / white flashes made fake pregnancy, after which the woman died. same happened to blakes wife.. when blake holds the kid, you dont see any shadow of the kid on the floor (just his empty hands) edit: murkoff lol, not murdock
@@siamzero9480 Correct. That's because female patients don't react well at all to the Morphogenic Engine, since it causes women to be pregnant and give birth in a matter of days. The engine is used both via static in the first game and via radio towers in the second (the big beam of lights that go off from time to time)
1:04:00 We've once had a weird mass death of birds in our area. We'd just see them dead, their bodies scattered, for no reason. Mind you, think was a few years ago, but it was an insane amount of birds that didn't look very harmed by anything. Very strange.

Oh and just today I’ve got a nightmare where I’d been in a world like game with anime style, we have 2 people going inside an old cave to discover, then the guy come with me get sliced in the head, I woke up after that
I consume horror stuff every day, when I do have dreams that would look like nightmares for some people, I just turn into a spectator and go through it, nothing scares me lol Like one of the guys up there said, it's mostly body horror and gore, but I'm 😐 it's really like, if something makes you scared, it'll be a nightmare for you, but if it doesn't, it's just another dream 🤷🏻♀️
@Oliver Engholm I live in Brazil lol brasileiro é minha língua nativa infelizmente jdjfrnfikfkffkjr I've seen lots of cartel videos and I do feel awfully bad after, real violence and horror bothers me, fake stuff doesn't because it's fake :v
You can't sprint in your dreams because when you're triggering your fight or flight in a dream, your brain is actually trying to give a command to your body that is impossible to complete due to you laying down in a bed under a blanket. So instead of being able to just run normally, you either run sluggishly as if you're walking through a mud pit or you move so unrealistically fast that it would be impossible in real life, depending on how your brain tries to solve the problem (either actually trying to command your body or releasing a dose of dimethyltryptamine to cause an in dream hallucination to convince your body that it is actually running to relax your nerves)
I'm happy that Insym waited so long to play all of these amazing single player horror games. It's been years since I last saw a fresh let's play of them!
Thank you so much for uploading these longer videos to UA-cam! Ever since I moved, I have been too busy with homeschooling and caring for my 3 (soon to be 4, any day now) kids, owning our second business, and caring for our small homestead; to catch any of the livestreams. I can watch these videos at my leisure and can even pause them to play snack bitch for the youngsters. Please keep them coming!
The process of labour had a lot of inconsistencies and mistakes...which is likely because Blake doesn't know how labour works, so only the parts he knows about are represented. Mass hallucination is trippy.
to explain the game you have to really get into the outlast 1 and 2 lore. basically it's just a continuation of the wallrider experiment but on a much larger scale! in outlast 1 they talked about fake pregnancies being a side effect of the wallrider experiment (hence lynn not really beeing pregnant, the baby has no shadow either because it is only a hallucination of blake). murkoff tries to make humans into weapons using lucid dreaming an hallucination drugs. here in outlast 2 they showed how they tried to mindcontrol an entire village and they actually were able to do so! the blinding light was the way they made the people have hallucinations. they put these people back into one of their worst experiences they had in life, so that's why blake had these flashbacks to school. the people in the village lost their mind and formed a cult to battle their hallucinations. i won't go into it deeper but there are a lot of documents you can collect that explain it all a bit better, especially the role of knoth, martha and val. overall the story is extremely deep and well thought out, you just need to be really tedious in picking up all of the papers.
theres 2 ending where jessica at the last cutscene looks dead, and one where she looks completkey normal and the only factor that changes the outcome is when youre running out of the school after being told to leave by lautermilch but when she screams if you turn around and go back before you reach the doors to the school then you will get the "good ending" also father lautermilch actually shoved her down the stairs and got her killed on accident.
Why running in nightmares is tuff, is because you are not running with muscles, but in your mind. If your mind is stuck on a place, only way to move os imagine moving. I sometimes just teleporting is less work, if yeh just imagine being far had and put yourself there instead of dragging the mental image all the way. Atleast that is how it seems to work for me in my dreams. I guess nightmare makes one want to run, but head gets stuck. Which makes dream moving very sticky.
I agree outlast 1 had a better story and one you could follow. I wish the could have tweaked the story to make since and the alternate ending is kinda bs I feel if you got everything I think the ending should let Lynn live. But what do I know. I'm glad your doing a few more longer games because of my schedule I never really catch you Streams but it's nice to put a vod on the TV while I'm getting ready for work or fall asleep with some phasmophobia in the background. Dude! You went through the entire game without knowing some helpful things -You can look back while running by pressing Alt -If you press Tab to see your inventory, the amount of batteries you have can be seen on your left pocket -You can press Z to go prone (that's why you were having a hard time crawling under beds and fences, because you were crouching, not prone)
@@FlyingShisno I feel you. Although I don't think he does it intentionally, I wish he had seen the "Z to go prone" prompt. Because he didn't see, he thought that the game was bugged everytime he had to crawl under something. Outlast 2 is, in my opinion, an insanely well polished game, and I really wanted it to give that polished experience for Insym too. But, well... 🤣
@@BRNardyPersonally, I think my biggest gripe with Outlast 2 is that the game is so damn intimidating and scary and easy to get lost in that it accidentally shoots its lore in the foot by strongly encouraging you to sprint everywhere. I think this is sorta a mistake, but it's one they clearly fixed by Trials. I'm generally quite pleased with Red Barrels, even if I think they are still learning to walk the line between "nuts-to-butts" edge and having something interesting to say.
He's trying to engage with chat, while playing a fairly intense game, while trying to keep track of the story, and be entertaining all at the same time. Missing tiny prompts is entirely reasonable.
Bro that girl that fckd blake in cave was the daughter of that good man in forest. Appearance at 35:30 and 4:30:33. She was also chasing in one of the scenes where we got those wires in waterlogged cave. This story is like a girl (Jessica) has crush on you and she is in your friend circle but she knew that you have crush on another girl (Lynn). This game is just a nightmare Blake saw about his future when his life has 2 girls but he likes 1 em and this all nightmare thing started when she died falling from stairs and was claimed that she comitted sucide in presence of Blake.

What was the worst was watching chat react to the words “this is where the magic happens”, and watching them think Blake supported the idea. When in reality that’s just a common saying, and he tried to alleviate some suspense and tension.
I'm rewatching this 7 months later and there is a literal child getting hung and their neck broken. There is so much messed up shit goin on in this game but UA-cam never reacted for that. Like they got rid of Mortuary Assistant for the hunging scene but this?! Nah they left alone XD Perfection
Don't know if Insym will ever see this, but blood moons are typically caused by lunar eclipses. Essentially the Earth moves in between the light provided by the sun and dims what hits the moon. This leads it to be a deep red color or orange. They are also known as harvest moons, especially when they are full during the eclipse.
Some of these comments are literally so rude wtf- you deserve to play how you want to, and what you want to play. Great video, Insym, catch you in the streams! ❤
It never ceases to surprise me how Insym is unable to read in-game tips and tutorials and just manages to get stuck with a mechanic that has been already explained time and time again. :B
Let’s play blindness. “Theradbrad” used to be exceptionally bad about it because “let’s play blindness” would get compounded by his fear of reading on film.
I'm so glad you enjoy the outlast games! I can't wait to see you plat the outlast trials once its out! I'm excited for it! The outlast lore is my one of my absolute favorite video games lores ever!
I think the bad reviews speak for themselves. The story is just all over the place. Outlast 2 is filled with very much the most common tropes in horror games: psychological/mental deterioration, trauma, suicide mystery, gore, anti-christianity, human rights violation, and gore. I find that Finding Lynn plot line felt so much weaker than the Jessica/flashback plotline, and the 2 factions is just ridiculously so out of place. I do think they wanted to put all these horror ideas into one game, but can't decide which direction they wanted the story to take
1:01:11 that "i hate sticky hands" made me have a sudden flashback to the until dawn let's play when emily dropped into some corpses, called them disgusting and insym was like "that's rude, you should think it's terrible that people died here" xd i would agree that the sticky hands comment > calling something gross, gotta remember it in case i end up in a strange place one day... :)
I've seen so many gameplays of this game I'm sober af to the game, but I'm happy to see you finally played it. As a game suggestion, Ratuz would be a pretty good game. It was made by the same creator of "Photoq", the 8bit Phamso-like game where you were just walking around taking photos of things, which you also played a couple of moths ago. Anyways, have a good day!
The Dark Occult is another game with this level of quality and length. Except Outlast is more messed up scary and The Dark Occult is more spooky haunted house scary.
Had a Logitech keyboard... It started getting sticky keys a year after purchase. Pulled them all off and cleaned it with compressed air and ethanol... nothing worked
When you cant run in your dreams, and you feel like your being held back by something or its being resisted. Its actually because your dont need to run, your not in any real danger. Your brain knows your just laying down.
jsahdjehbdhbd I'm so stressed watching this. I have to keep pausing the video for a breather LOL. This game is really a horror masterpiece. Thank you for playing!
A monster appears "Am i supposed to run?" stares at the monster while walking backwards slowly, decides to turn around and sprint after a short while, gets caught and killed by monster. "I ran immediately!" =/ lol
I just finished the Whistle-blower DLC for the first Outlast and it wasn't nearly as bad as you made it seem. This game is way more messed up. P.S. Press the crawl button to crawl
The thumbnail is glitching on my app so I've gotten some funny video title mash ups like, "Try Not to Eat- $4000 worth of Caviar", "Overnight in haunted Washoe Club *Polyergeist Filmed* Terrifying Evidence", "Tiktok's Viral 1912 Potato Cake", and others 😂😂😂😂😂
I love the part at 1:21:50 where you say "school" but with an Octodad accent 🤣 And, of course, "I've been sucked" lol I don't think you even noticed what you said there 😂
most of my dreams its either i cant run or im blind and cant open my eyes if they are nightmares, its actually really annoying cause its just i cant even tell if its bad or not LOL
Btw the other ending is achieved when turning around right away in the corridor, in the scene where Jess dies. If you wait you will get the bad ending. If you turn around immidiatly and start chasing them, you should get the good ending. At least that is how I got it, I played the game multiple times with another person on my side to figure it out and that seemed to be the only deciding factor.
47:45 I mean, by the argument that hes the main character in the game you can also argue that means the old guy is only actually like 2mins old coz he never existed before or after that scene.
that is Outlast 1 silly this is outlast 2!, so not DLC for it, a fan would know this is not the first game lol or someone that can read the title of the video

Thank you!
(Tiny) 14:17 screaming and weird doll with door opening
You forgot to mention the birth scene . This stuff is scary
@@bocs9086 only the first hour he said
the amount of people saying how her belly was still big after she pushed out a baby...wow. so many people don't know that your belly doesn't just deflate, it takes a long time to get "back to normal." if ever. makes me laugh in a sad way lol
I appreciate how you try to find & Get everything in the game.. It is so cool to see all the cool things you find. Great video Insym
What was the worst was watching chat react to the words “this is where the magic happens”, and watching them think Blake supported the idea. When in reality that’s just a common saying, and he tried to alleviate some suspense and tension.
My brother is one of the main game designers of the game. I'm glad you enjoyed.
Y'know, the camera that Blake has is the real MVP all throughout the game. Look at outlast 1, absolute UNIT.
I love how the guy can sneak so well, yet when he picks something up, he yanks it as if he is so angry at the world...so much for sneaking lol
I've watched this game so many times and every time it never fails to make me feel uncomfortable.
Love to watch these kinds of videos in the background while playing something else!
That maze wallpaper brought me back 20 years, holy shit.
They even nailed the convex monitor right.
bro def one of my favorite youtubers to watch on road trips
I love that game, was like my first ever horror game
i agree. but for me it was oousltast 1, which is better in my opinion
@@supercunthunt7756 it was better but i think the 2nd one is scarier xD
i love the sound effect at 26:57
MC: *watches the priest that's been terrorising him slit his own throat*
Also MC: "Better pull my camera out for this one"
Yesssss!
I loved your Outlast playthrough!
Thank you so very much!
Some of these comments are literally so rude wtf- you deserve to play how you want to, and what you want to play. Great video, Insym, catch you in the streams! ❤
5hrs??!!! Thank you! :D I've watched so many gameplays of this, but forgotten all of them. This'll be refreshing experience~
That was really fun! Thank you for playing, Insym!
I'm so glad you enjoy the outlast games! I can't wait to see you plat the outlast trials once its out! I'm excited for it! The outlast lore is my one of my absolute favorite video games lores ever!
I think the bad reviews speak for themselves.
The story is just all over the place. Outlast 2 is filled with very much the most common tropes in horror games:
psychological/mental deterioration, trauma, suicide mystery, gore, anti-christianity, human rights violation, and gore.
I find that Finding Lynn plot line felt so much weaker than the Jessica/flashback plotline, and the 2 factions is just ridiculously so out of place. I do think they wanted to put all these horror ideas into one game, but can't decide which direction they wanted the story to take
I wonder which is stronger: Blake's camera or Sam's towel?
yes finally best horror game with best horror player.
What a magnificent game. Violent, gross and scary. Loved it, Sym.☺
YES! omg i've been looking for someone to play this on stream and actually finish it lol im so excited!
A blood moon happens when the Earth casts a shadow onto the moon. And the reflected light from the sun sometimes makes the moon seem blood red.
3:56:00 Man, he outplayed this part. Even I don't know you can interrupt his singing
The Dark Occult is another game with this level of quality and length. Except Outlast is more messed up scary and The Dark Occult is more spooky haunted house scary.
I’ve never heard of the outlast games! This is a long video but I truly cannot wait to watch it!! Keep up the great work!!
curious how you never heard of them?
@@orangemushroomslayer I might’ve heard them mentioned once or twice, possibly, but I had no clue what they were about.
If you like this style of graphics, the evil within 2 looks just as amazing
jsahdjehbdhbd I'm so stressed watching this. I have to keep pausing the video for a breather LOL. This game is really a horror masterpiece. Thank you for playing!
My blood pressure is high
enough from playing Phasmo...
Ain't no fudging way I'm playing this...
Insym, you're a brave man!! 😳😰...
A monster appears "Am i supposed to run?" stares at the monster while walking backwards slowly, decides to turn around and sprint after a short while, gets caught and killed by monster.
"I ran immediately!" =/ lol
Outlast 2, im glad you playing one of my favorite horror games specially i love to watch your vids
I was just considering watching this on the VOD channel, then i refreshed YT and it said you uploaded this. Bless ;A;
Me too xD 😂
one of the best horror games out there. It actualy made me feel anxious
I just rewatched the first Outlast Gameplay from Insym and now he uploaded Outlast 2, I looooove it❤
It s the first time I see you actually scared in a horror game.... Good job :)
Insym not being happy about being saved for 5 minutes straight
FINALLY, I"Ve BEEN WAITING THIS PLAYTHROUGH!!!
Insym: I'm gonna take that to mean chickens..
Me: You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into.
I love the part at 1:21:50 where you say "school" but with an Octodad accent 🤣
And, of course, "I've been sucked" lol I don't think you even noticed what you said there
😂
30:50 "Who is this guy? I was gonna say average American, but..." LMAO even as an American, I find that funny 🤣
LETS GOOOOO!!
This game has changed me
just watched a 5 hour horror movie. Not bad. 10/10
Insym: Wendigo?!?!?
Arrow hits guy in head...death sounds
Me: Wendigone bhhahahaha
Till this day its still one of the scariest games on the planet! DAYUMN
You have an infectious laugh. Thanks for the video!
Wow, no spoilers at the beginning of the vid, nice, my like!
Insym, please play Outlast's DLC, you missed the best part of this series
Seeing kids in Twitch chat with names like "punkqueen" not being able to stomach the opening of this game is fucking hilarous
14:32 painting of TF2 Heavy
most of my dreams its either i cant run or im blind and cant open my eyes if they are nightmares, its actually really annoying cause its just i cant even tell if its bad or not LOL
This channel is so underrated. Doesn't even have 10% likes compared to the views.
47:45 I mean, by the argument that hes the main character in the game you can also argue that means the old guy is only actually like 2mins old coz he never existed before or after that scene.
not gonna lie i really love your content, i look forward to what u do in the future! if u havent played SOMA i highly suggest it
Thats a surprise knowing you havent played it yet, thought you played long ago before I find your channel
3:25:10 blood moon is another name for a lunar eclipse, for anyone wondering.
I swear I saw Insym play this before 😱 but I will watch either way. Thanks
The bloody bathroom scene (3:20:00 ish)
It reminds me of exploded jello.
Omg I love Outlast 😍 Now there's just the DLC missing (Outlast Whistleblower), maybe you want to play it as well ❤️
that is Outlast 1 silly this is outlast 2!, so not DLC for it, a fan would know this is not the first game lol or someone that can read the title of the video
@@egbert5871 I know that this is Outlast 2 and that the DLC has a storyline parallel to Outlast 1, I'm not new in this fandom. I'd still love to see Insym play the story of Waylon Park, no need to insult me
U can't run as fast as you want in dreams because you're laying down whilst you are asleep. 😁🙄😁
Where I'm at there was a time were birds just fell out of the sky all over the streets. It had to do with some kind of pollutant in the air if I remember correctly
Finally!! I was waiting for this one 😭 its been a while since I checked in but its always fun
Outlast Trials coming soon.
this game is so absolutely disturbing even more so than outlast 1 but i still think 1 is a better game. plus outlast 1 had dlc that was also disturbing and yeah. i think this series is an absolutely fantastic horror game series and i cant wait for the third to be released whenever that time is.
Bruh why does he speedrun so much in the school scenes, he misses so much
Reading Insym's chat as the game progresses has me convinced we're all doomed lol.
Now we just need the Whistleblower DLC and the trinity will be complete on UA-cam too!
