"Out of all the tracks you produced, which one is your favorite?" - Розваги
BOC is often every mainstream electronic artist's favorite group. They are probably one of the most influential electronic bands ever.
Never heard of them. Daft punk and Twin I'd agree.
I think it goes beyond electronic music.
pretty cool. I like all those artists especially Boards of Canada
+Luis Ramos why ?
BECAUSE THEY ARE FUCKING AMAZING.
Me too man. I love Boards, Aphex, Plaid.. etc.. But Boards are my favourite right now.
There's an article with BoC where they say that their aim has always been to create nostalgic memories for a time that they never lived.
@@merton5868 And it feels exactly like that
He named the best! If the list would have went on, it can only be:
-Amon Tobin
-Autechre
-Bonobo
and Squarepusher
four tet
@piggy kid no1 Sounds very good so far indeed, thanks for the recommendation!
Warp records, if you know, you know
What makes you think he only listens to electronic music? I think you're projecting your own tastes or hopes onto him.
I love Aphex Twins. They're my favorite EDM group.
Lol
Lol
lol
Lol
So many things are wrong with this comment lmao
I feel like Bored of Canada is one of his better tracks. It's just amazing
Same
SAME 100%
even the dumb glitch at the end on the album version is great
It’s an artist he’a talking about not a track
@@rubenrivas6267 I understand. He was sort of emulating their style
RICHARD D JAMES!!!
BoC, Tycho, and Aphex Twin are far beyond just mere electronic music. Their 'works' isn't just music, it's art.
BoC is a daily ritual for me
It's probably easier to have a favourite of your children than have a favourite song. Too many good songs out there
I'm glad I found those artists by hearing, that deadmau5 listens to them. I'm especially into BoC and Aphex Twin is also really good, but I didn't know about Tycho, I'll have to listen to his stuff too.
aphex twin
Literally my fav DJ talking about he likes my fav music groups in general.
Boards of Canada...almighty epic Jon Titor of music
I've always thought his album "While (1
There might be coffee will always be my favorite. I watched him make it live on stream years ago. Good times.
Ha, creep's been my favourite of his for years. Neat.
Creep is my favorite track on the album, maybe aside from Somewhere Up Here, or A Moment To Myself. Hard to choose.
Thought he was referring to Creep by Radiohead. 💀
LMAOOOO The fact that creep is in my favorite 5 songs of his this was awesome!!
The Aphex twins!! Good band!!
Joel Zimmerman the most based electronic artist, literally my favorite person
YES! Creep! the one song I can play on Piano! :D
The aphex twins! Fantastic brother duo
Man I thought Joel was pretty respected music wise until I read some of these comments, and joined sites like RYM. Personally, I love that his music is danceable yet also keeps a tinge of melancholy (ie. Strobe, Polaris, Monophobia). But I guess those who are into more traditional electronica wouldn't really vibe with the more modern EDM sound, it can get in your face at times.
Game recognizes game!
The one thing that you have to feel bad for artist in general they'll never get the same feeling of their amazing music as you do. Hence why they listen to others. Same how Johnny Depp can't watch his own acting.
tycho 4 lifeeee
I thought at the end he was going to say Daphne & Celeste
or Bis
Boards + Aphex + Golden Teacher = factory reset
Same here..radiohead..boards
.yup all of it..then I make my music when it feels right..
pwsteal.ldpinch.d by aphex twin. this is how deadmau5 came about creating his style. Where the credit at deadmau5?
You expect people to name every influence? Everything is influenced, and Deadmau5 more than the vast majority of artists, took that influence and turned it into his own thing, which spawned other genres. Are you implying Joel stole music, or ripped off music, or doesn't pay respect tot his influences because he didn't mention some specific thing about his past?? Yeah there is some synth layering that he did similar to this track. Honestly, it's a given that every electronic artist today has taken from Aphex Twin.
When people are influenced by another artist. Then it starts to blow up in popularity and royalties roll in like crazy. Imo, you should give credit to where it’s due at that point. Everything else you mentioned I’ll let you figure it out.
Definitely though I listen to your stuff aswell as boc Ty hi and Aphex mate keep on keeping bruv 👊
Move for me is fucking mega mate 🥳
I'm I mad or something, but he's talking about Radiohead?
Note: NO ONE listens their own music guys. You did it. It was good. And done.
Because you are already listening it over 1000 times while making it, plus it's already perfect, you would not release it if you thought it's not good. So listening it again and reading the comments about it is totally meaningless for a music artist.
Note: ALMOST EVERYONE HAS TO LISTEN TO THEIR MUSIC if they have any artistic integrity and has put any sort of effort into their music. Stop talking complete bollocks. Why would you want to listen to music when you can pump out and album in a night.
Could never get into Tycho. He sounds like an overly polished BOC. It's too easy. Not enough tension, too much release. Boards will makes you simmer in the dissonance and pull you out just in time.
Ya tycho are way too jam band electronic music boring. Casino vs Japan is much better. Or DnTel. Arovane, bola, manual, phonem, proem, lackluster, murcof etc
All better.
@@rediscoveryrecords1348I’ve listened to the artists you mentioned and most suck. (Pretty dull taste) literally the only thing I could find interesting was marumari, and it’s not even his song. It’s in his compilations a song called sunol - Benoit pioulard
@@amero3577 nute amero
@@rediscoveryrecords1348 You suggested a handful of artist who are supposedly better but are bland as a rock. My music is pretty varied too and there are way better synth artists. If you're so confident why don't you share your playlist
'Creep' by who?
um
DEADMAU5
"God I don't know. Creep is is w would be the one I would listen to if ---> I
radiohead man
I'm pretty sure he means TLC
My uncle
nice!!!!
It’s really obvious that he’s been influenced by Aphex Twin. There are some similarities between his album call while (1
i love all of those artists except tycho cause i dont know who the fuck that is
I can’t listen to you’re music either, boc are real musicians!
*your
Makes terrible and boring music, listens to awesome music. When you have the ears, but you don't have the skill.
I think he's better than the artists he mentioned :)
@@lexi6081 when you don't have the ears, nor the skill.
Happy 13th birthday, Nathan
wut.
Don't gotta like him, but to sat Deadmau5 doesn't have the skill is hilarious. His sound is actually incredibly unique, really distinct chord progressions and was super innovative when he first got big. He has some pretty good stuff any electronic fan should be able to appreciate. Listen to the album While (1>2) - Got a handful of really dope tracks unlike the rest of his discog IMO - Monday, Bleed, Errors in my Bread, Terrors in my Head remix, Rylehs Lament, Creep. It's these types of more melancholic tracks of his I was always able to appreciate. The majority of his stuff, I can't get into.
kind of figured his taste wouldn't expand past basic /mu/ core
lol go outside
Very basic indeed
well. prolly is just because deep inside he knows he ain't close on the creativity level to any of those mentioned artists. His music wasn't that great to begin with and then it was downhill real fast when he got famous.
Meh BoC is my favourite band of all time and Joel has plenty of great tracks, it's way different in style but to he isn't creative is just ignorant to be honest...
Joel is probably the most accessible electronic artist of all time. There is something to be said about that. And he's definitely innovative. In terms of raw skills nah. You listen to BoC with some good headphones and there is just... so many layers of complexity that you never hear in Joel's music. But complexity doesnm't necessarily mean better... And the average music listener can't get into creepy 90s electronic based of sounds from old Canadian government PSAs lol. Another group with 10/10, top shelf mixing skillz, is Infected Mushroom. Those dudes know how to play a mean computer.
Accessible electronic artist? Thats a good thing?
Desdmau is pretty shitty music
@@rediscoveryrecords1348 Well. An average listener listens to shit, simple choice of samples and beats. Add a few layers of complex sounds and an average Joe will get frustrated with it and call it "weird shitty music". Some people just don't know any better
Tycho sucks. AFX is amazing. BoC are legends but need more music
He's not wrong. His music sucks.
i think he listen to Burial as well
Wouldn’t be surprised.
