makes me sad, I had one of these back in the late 1990s when I was on cb, it was my garage radio loved that thing. sadly someone broke in and stole it in the fall of 99
Hi there. I just got one of these radio from a silent key sale. This one is in very good condition but it has a picture of the United States flag all over the front panel. Works very well on receive and that's all I'm going to use it for.
If that rig is doing 40w PEP on side band the Bias is out of whack , and dirty across the spectrum.. 50 MA to 75 MA On the finals.. This Transceiver is the bollocks ,set to service manual spec and run through a Linear amp.. HF Rig audio and receive performance.. Just saying... Don't worry about the Thought / radio Police.. Lol.. Liked and subbed.
I ordered a new IC-7300 from www.strictlyham.com.au today!!, It will be my first HF radio in 10 years ( last one was a TS-870s) I'm going to use it at home and on the boat , cheers Ian "Yobbo" VK4NFL
I just pulled out my ax144 out the other day and yes the meter is dead (stuck solid). I was wondering where to get another. I have the same era Dick Smith 10 channel AM/SSB marine cb in like new condition (never put in a boat) with the same meter, but a shame to wreck it for parts.
i had this one 0to 40 watts dimable wonderfull machine great to see it again thanks mate
I had this one since 1987.
Great radio. I still have mine. Exactly the same, but with black knobs. Still runs strong..!! It is nice to see different versions of this radio.
I still have a working one with a silver front, and modified for a bit more power. Very very nice radio, sounds very good also.
It excellent radio I have about 8 of this set I have black and silver. Great video
I started out in radio in my teens with CB. And even now as a licensed amateur for going in 30 years, I have zero hate for CB. ❤️👍

Who can rebuild or repair he’s radios?
I’ve got that radio but with the normal black knobs, where can I find the silver knobs? I love them!
The black face model never came with chrome knobs and buttons.those must have been harvested from a older grey face president

So this is a case of Amateur Radio buying back 11m one CB radio at a time? LOL 🤣
I got the same radio but black nobes does any one have spare parts
So you can't sell them or use them even on 10 meters! In the US we could use them on 10 meters!
I have one 80 up and down and everything in-between
