Definitely one of the worst things about low ELO is that players think “playing the objective” means standing in or directly on top of the objective. Countless games in Gold lobbies see an entire team of 5 only standing on the payload and never stepping away from it, even if it’s in a bad position.
@brandonszpot8948 a few of my friends are silver and this loses them games more than anything else. They never push advantages or hold better positions like high ground, which also makes it harder to play with them because if I off angle or play high ground or something, I'm alone and die.

Keep up the solid work A10 and I'll keep learning!
sadly the playstyle doesnt work for me because i dont have the aim to punish people even when i realize they are making mistakes the few times i do but great vid very informative (ive tried this playstyle over several months)
Just found this content. Lecture at the beginning was super insightful. Does anyone know what program A10 is using that has the hero portraits and interactive map?
as a master dva im kinda dissapointed with the ending. The games that i enjoy watching the most are the ones with bad teammates and against masters and gm players. Its enjoyable to watch dva dive and team wipe a bunch of gold-plat players who are constantly feeding, wasting cooldowns and in bad positions, but what i rlly wanted to watch more was the hard games against good team comps and dva counters, for example that dorado game where u tried to do ur best against a mei + symettra comp. Im sad u only played like 4-5 of those tough games before u gave up with dva.
A10 I'm curious what is your sens with dva and hud settings? Really enjoying your videos. I'm watching it a bit at a time and applying to my game play. Managed to climb today vs no rank up twice in a row the last time lol (dps & healing).
I'm certain that I'm always in losing team cause I'm 4 stacking with my friends and I know they rarely play any FPS games. We aren't even playing ranked, we only queue QuickPlay and we always end up facing Diamond above players, I even saw a top500 one time (their title tells).
dude i just started winning on dva with this omg. im bronze and it's so much easier, jesus specifically waiting for them to f up and use their cooldowns before i go in. and not going down main. the punishing over-extenders seems a bit harder for me, unless they're wayyy out of position i think i misunderstand when it's okay to go after them because i forget the squishy's cooldowns like fade and stuff until they use them. so i'll go in after fade intentionally because she doesn't have fade, but i'll also go in when she does have fade because i forget she has it xD lmao. object permanence who. however, i'm targeting specific characters better which is getting hella kills rn.
something that has helped me with cooldowns is just saying them out loud! that way i can also get a feel of when they come back. for example, like what you said, fade - i'll tell myself "moira used fade" (out loud!) and then in about 6 seconds i'll know that she has it again. i often forget/think about too many things and if i just think "oh she used fade" i'll forget about it. where are you ranked now, if you still play?
On games I've popped off on various heroes it's always been with the help of my team. I may be getting alot of the kills but I am not winning 5v1's and I'm definitely not playing perfectly.
The amount of loses i got just because im arguing with ppl in voice is insane 😅, Ppl in diamond have extreme ego, If u tell your tank to back up for heals, they insta throw, And here is A10 : just keep your coms to a minimum, Which is 100% true 🗿🤜🤛
i wondered that too, even if it was a loss i would have liked to see it. maybe it was a complete steamroll and he thought it wasn't productive to watch? idk
Taking important lessons for getting General Master rank at this game from channel which is having a Zarya as an Anime girl art as his channel image its certified Overwatch moment.
Wow I went on a 10 game losing streak, weaving clips of him playing in between matches. I just could not understand what I was doing different. But then something clicked and I climbed from gold 1 to plat 1 in 2 placements. It works y’all just listen and take notes. And fail a ton lol. Sorry to my teammates tho.
i always wondered in higher elos why does the defending team never hold at the choke especially blizzard world and kings row and just let them walk through, i’m sure it’s smarter to play that way but why????
Attacking team can just pick characters with high spam or burst damage and walk forward together. They just burn down the tank and move towards point easily
if you play at the choke on blizzard world you're also in a position where flankers can end up behind you. by holding farther back, theres no possible way for somebody to flank and catch you off guard. for one. another is the idea that to walk through open space the enemy HAS to use a cooldown. next time you're in this situation really think about how you close distance. unless youre facing toddlers, if you simply just walk through open space not near a corner you're gonna get killed pretty fast. so in order to close that distance you need to use some form or resource. as the defending team, you now have a major resource advantage as the enemy used cooldowns to close the distance and theres no reason you should have used yours. save your cooldowns for when the enemy isnt near a corner, wait for them to use a cooldown, then punish.
First of all, this video is very helpful and educational, thank you! I will be using all this information for all heroes, because lots of tips are useful for most heroes in general Second, where are you from? 8:39. I was explaining this to my junkrat spamming "I need shielding" in my diamond game and got flamed by the 4 stack lol
i’d love to see reaper ur2gm, also i gotta say the way u actually talk ab ur own decisions and not whine about what ur team is or isn’t doing is shockingly rare when it comes to videos like these
Is the constant "Hello"ing for letting your teammates know you're close? Or just a compulsive thing?
Awesome material btw, I got praised yesterday and I can only manage to apply like 10% of this at best for now.
I've been watching your content for a very long time and tonight something finally clicked from something my coach said... I tend to attempt to play way too fast... I would love some solid psychological tips to slow down my ADHD brain and be able to focus. I don't take meds because i feel they slow me down and I thoroughly enjoy going apeshit in my own head thinking about things (especially lines of code as I'm an amateur software developer). Keep up the solid work A10 and I'll keep learning!
Honestly so useful and helpful. New to overwatch in general and have been playing some Dva. Tha k you for this.
Ps. French Canadian, right?
a10 i'm your big fan.
please upload unranked to gm dva Part 2 asap. i really love this content.
thank you
I only have 35 hours game time total on overwatch but in plat 3, ranked is fun! I like the game a lot I’m ready to learn thank you for this video!
Those slides at the beginning are very helpful. Is there a link so we can review them on our own?
i wanna thank you so much for making me a amazing DVA main . ❤
You made me discover I could move mouse to the left
Now I never miss a shot anymore
Thank you !
sadly the playstyle doesnt work for me because i dont have the aim to punish people even when i realize they are making mistakes the few times i do but great vid very informative (ive tried this playstyle over several months)
I get so lost with the view from above on the maps lol
Watching your content has improved my dps and tank game, but I'm a support main and would love to see something covering that role too.
awkward is a really good support
I feel bad for the enemy tanks. You know they were fighting for their lives in coms with all the tank diffs in chat
A10 I'm curious what is your sens with dva and hud settings? Really enjoying your videos. I'm watching it a bit at a time and applying to my game play. Managed to climb today vs no rank up twice in a row the last time lol (dps & healing).
Is there a way to download that slide in the beginning? :p
My 91-y-old grandmother knows how to take screenshots.
@@zendakk i guess that's one way to do it
@zendakk too bad screenshots can't record the commentary that further elaborates the slideshow
@@kpkazan neither can slides in any other format. The VOD is right here.
i think i found the BEST EDUCATIONAL GAMER in YT
what happened to the attack game at 2:52:57
Would love to see you do one of these U2GMs for Ramattra and Doomfist!
I second Rammattra, maybe after they nerf his ult a little. I know A10 said in a recent video he was playing a lot of Ramm lately.
Highly recommended.
LEETSS GOOOOOOOOOOO, MY FAVORITE EDUCATIONAL CONTENT
I'm certain that I'm always in losing team cause I'm 4 stacking with my friends and I know they rarely play any FPS games. We aren't even playing ranked, we only queue QuickPlay and we always end up facing Diamond above players, I even saw a top500 one time (their title tells).
dude i just started winning on dva with this omg. im bronze and it's so much easier, jesus
specifically waiting for them to f up and use their cooldowns before i go in. and not going down main.
the punishing over-extenders seems a bit harder for me, unless they're wayyy out of position i think i misunderstand when it's okay to go after them because i forget the squishy's cooldowns like fade and stuff until they use them. so i'll go in after fade intentionally because she doesn't have fade, but i'll also go in when she does have fade because i forget she has it xD lmao. object permanence who.
however, i'm targeting specific characters better which is getting hella kills rn.
something that has helped me with cooldowns is just saying them out loud! that way i can also get a feel of when they come back. for example, like what you said, fade - i'll tell myself "moira used fade" (out loud!) and then in about 6 seconds i'll know that she has it again. i often forget/think about too many things and if i just think "oh she used fade" i'll forget about it.
where are you ranked now, if you still play?
I'd love to see a junker queen unranked to gm from you
Hi A10, what’s your eDPI on dva? I’m on 2.2 x 1200 and I’m wondering if that’s too high
that's fine man, nowhere near too high dw
@@A10Nerd thanks for the reply, will take note. Great guide as usual, going through your thought processes
"A10, back in action!"
Here I was thinking this was going to be the fastest unranked to GM in history
On games I've popped off on various heroes it's always been with the help of my team. I may be getting alot of the kills but I am not winning 5v1's and I'm definitely not playing perfectly.
What this program called? That he uses to show and mark the maps up
I hate how bogged down my account is from learning the game on it. It's soooooo much easier to climb on a new account, but I wanna keep my skins lol
I’m a hanzo one trick so Ive never tried tank but I tried dva after watching this and got 27 elims per 10 and 3.5 deaths 70% wr in plat in 10 hours
I got crazy improvement in my comprehension of the game with this video. Thanks looks like I won't be gold anymore
"If you play well you win if you play badly you lose" wow that's some universal godlike logic you're dropping
JQ also would be fun to watch :)
I think mic needs to be a little louder or gameplay sounds quietter
1:59:21 OW rag doll physics are so good
The amount of loses i got just because im arguing with ppl in voice is insane 😅,
Ppl in diamond have extreme ego,
If u tell your tank to back up for heals, they insta throw,
And here is A10 : just keep your coms to a minimum,
Which is 100% true 🗿🤜🤛
why did the rest of this game get cut? it seemed like it was going to be close 2:52:53
Probably the same reason he didn't finish the challenge, he couldn't win
i wondered that too, even if it was a loss i would have liked to see it. maybe it was a complete steamroll and he thought it wasn't productive to watch? idk
can we get video of hanzo to gm? :D
I woke up watching this video, And I like it.
how does a singular Dva in Ranked deal with people flaming screaming swap? What do I do when entire team throws, early "gg"s etc

FANTASTIC VIDEO A10
Taking important lessons for getting General Master rank at this game from channel which is having a Zarya as an Anime girl art as his channel image its certified Overwatch moment.
When is the doomfist unranked to GM coming?
rule 4? what are the rules
i love what you said at 56:00
through 57:40
Wow I went on a 10 game losing streak, weaving clips of him playing in between matches. I just could not understand what I was doing different. But then something clicked and I climbed from gold 1 to plat 1 in 2 placements. It works y’all just listen and take notes. And fail a ton lol.
Sorry to my teammates tho.
you should do winston!!! he’s very difficult to learn and is very good in the meta rn
i always wondered in higher elos why does the defending team never hold at the choke especially blizzard world and kings row and just let them walk through, i’m sure it’s smarter to play that way but why????
I will be using all this information for all heroes, because lots of tips are useful for most heroes in general
Second, where are you from? I seem to be hearing a bit of a Dutch accent, very faint, sometimes when saying certain words
he's half dutch/half scottish :)
@@BLUDHOUNDZ Nice! I thought I heard a bit of a Dutch accent sometimes!
Need a dps one now this is entertaining
Perfect timing
