I'd appreciate more people doing unranked to GM videos with zero team comms. It would clarify what individual mechanical aptitude and game sense can carry to GM.

The thing is that 50% of the games to climb are same like that, you just win by hair. The team that does not loose will of power , wins.

It’s really interesting to watch the enemy tanks repeatedly switch heroes in an effort to counter your Zarya, yet continue making the same fundamental mistakes which causes them to lose still. Excellent video, A10!
hehe i had same, they were swaping rein, junker queen, orisa, all failed :D in plat all saying tank diff. But nice insights on how to rotate with zarya

This video has been a big help so far! I’m trying to main her and this has helped me along the way so far
another big and simple tip from a diamond player: Typically each route or push an enemy team tries to make almost always, by map design, leaves another angle open to take an advantage from. This is especially useful for flank characters. as SOON as a team commits to a route, instantly recognize what route is the flank route. Being able to easily get behind the team in any situation this way. Even if you dont team wipe, the value of getting healers or tanks to turn around and look at you is huge. especially against reinhardt
Edit: once you find your flank, also always mentally note your escape route. You won't get value as a flanker if you die. period. Routes also almost always include health kits, so note those too and you'll stay alive much longer. You'll start to note these t hings automatically over time.

I'm not even a tank player. I main support, but the way you explained these concepts settled so beautifully into my brain. These are things that all players should learn, and I feel like I know so much more after just one video.
Best thing is this also works for support aswell. Lets say tank isn't that good you can take pressure off them by playing from a good position and the enemies might mess up and chase you into your team and die

Man you do this so well, I do a lot of what you are talking about in the beginning ( 3 minutes ish) I haven’t figured out how to not rely on my team and tend to get over anxious and overextend.

That first game is a mood. when i was ranking up playing ranked for the first time it took me so long to get out of gold last season, then i just sprinted through plat in 10 games

The way you talk about space is very validating to me I just got back into it and people will flame me for pushing up on enemies on attack after we wipe them and I’m like yeah I could stand on cart but maybe someone else can push it while I stall them so you don’t even get to see the enemy and people will get so mad about it it’s crazy

I was playing zarya recently in a low elo, I haven't played more than 30 comp games of tank in 2 years, and I somehow had the intuition to kind of ignore their tank and walk on their backline if possible. I thought I was making a mistake, but it somehow kept working. I climbed from silver 4 to plat 3 in a week. I know I have a ton to work on and I have to be a lot smarter to continue climbing, but I'm glad I had some intuition... at least for one tank.
that’s actually what you do for every tank in ow2. Ignore the other tank. Tank used to be a fun part of the game where you work with the other tank, now it’s just hurr durr I’m a fat dps

I'm barely starting out in OW2, but I've already learned so much from your guides. Obviously I won't be playing ranked yet, but it's good to know how the whole system works.
Change this mentality a little though. Don’t be scared of ranked. Learn in ranked. You don’t have to climb, there is no obligation :)
I like when A10 said that players were better in OW1, cuz the 6v6 format, almost made you learn game sense and how the ebb and flow works. Now you can just pop off and climb, I'm in masters in OW2 and they do not feel like master games from OW1
A10 could do a new one of these everyday and I’d eat it up every time. I like how he does a better job of explaining basic techniques to help you win. A lot of high level players will do unranked to GMs and just say stuff like “damage, damage, damage”. Basically saying just have insane mechanical ability. But don’t explain things like LoS, proper cool down usage, and the dynamics of when to give and when to take space. Love it.

Yo a10 I have a question. I watch a lot of awkwards teaching too and he says that u should always do damage before the fight cause if you hide you are missing out on value, dmg and give some free space to the enemy tank. But I see you preach to wait and go get the little ducks while you hide. What are your thoughts about that? Cause I love you both but I’m a bit confused it seems like you preach the opposite things and it both works so 😂

I liked some of this advice but it has not worked at all for me so idk. Everything he demonstrated is not how any of my games have gone. IF I as the tank try to flank my team gets killed by the enemy tank. How do I deal with that?
Would you be open to code submissions to react and maybe give advice to? By no means do I think I'm a zarya of your caliber, but I'm high diamond support and masters 4 dps, and my tank (maining zarya) is sitting at plat 2. Just wanna improve. Thanks for the content!

A10 I’m GM 3 and I just want to know how to beat a rein matchup when I’m on zarya, because I low ranks and masters I win because reins aren’t good but In GM it’s different.
u can always switch. i’d imagine it’s probably finding off angles to shoot those around the shield

Yep, the first game already sums up my experience playing Zarya this season in gold/plat. I feel like I can't carry my team against Rein a lot of the time, especially if my team is throwing. Crazy how Rein is beefy and can deny me so easy by simply holding the shield. If I can't play around him I'm switching to DVA/Ram now depending on my supports, already tried to force Zarya but I gave up. Unfortunately Rein is everywhere now. Even worse is when I'm popping off and they swap to Rein to counter me and ruin my fun 😩

@@willmcclard206 basically the only tank that "counters" her nowadays, but is managable if you are better than the enemy player (equal skill = rein win)

How to play ram:
- start weaving in and out cover when you have no cooldowns
- shield to allow you to hold the angle
- slowdown + punches if any squishy comes near
- when you’re about to ult wait for your armor to go down then ult to replenish it
- rinse repeat
