Basically, add $95 per month to the cost-of-living in Vietnam as well as "cost of time" involved of 1-2 days each month to do the Visa run. This is on top of rent, utilities, food, transportation, etc.
Maybe it is best to seek a country where there is a long-term or at least longer than 30 day term to live within the country. Otherwise, this 30-day visa run stuff isn't worth it to stay in Vietnam.
yeah I think this is possible to do for maybe 2-3 months after a while it can get really annoying. But for now I don't mind it. I really love living in Vietnam
@@cristravelss It's a bad arrangement just to try and live in Vietnam. $95 per month plus visa run time and you're tired at the end of it with zero stability as you have to do it 28 or 29 days later. It's about $1200 per year plus all that time wasted.
These are choices/decisions that involve "wasted time", which you can't get back. Time is a limited commodity we all equally (and ultimately unequally) have.

I did this and stayed just over the border for 2 nights. Accomodation isnt the best and although you can get a bus to a bigger town, they come back to the border once a day between 6am and 8am, noone really knows when.
Nice video. I will stick with flying to Bangkok. 80-100 round trip leave at 10am get home at 5. Visa exemption stamp no cost and don’t loose a whole page in my passport. Low stress simple. Keep filming. Thank you for sharing your experience.
oh nice!!! I'm Colombian so the visa situation to Thailand for me is not so easy... But I agree getting less stamps on your passport is a huge plus!!
What airline do you fly with? Sounds really cheap!
@@erics3238 you definitely have to plan ahead. I typically buy my tickets one month in advance. Go to BKK for lunch then home or go for a week or so and enjoy Thailand. Prices have varied from 80-120. No luggage just a small carry-on.
Thailand dont like too many visa exemptions in 1 year, they can refuse entry in BKK and send you back.
@@jh-mc3se Unlimited Visa Exemptions by Air. 2 Visa Exempt Entries by Land per calendar year. Thai immigration cares only if you're living in Thailand and doing visa runs by visa exempts. In this case, OP is living in Vietnam - not Thailand.

Writing from Lao Bao at the moment, I came here today after a long motorcycle ride, did the visa run, paid to so many places and people etc... staying at this town for the night, first thing tomorrow, getting out of here!!!! But at the end it was a mission complete, i have my 30 day visa now.
It’s not worth it doing it every month, bring back the 3 months already

oh snap!! the man! And actually no brother. Nothing at all during the visa run. And also a month ago a flew in from the Philippines and same thing. They never checked for covid vaccine or any type of covid test to get into Vietnam 🇻🇳

Couldn't you just avoid going into Laos to avoid paying the Laos visa.
Why not just stamp out in Vietnam then hangabout the transit area and come straight back into Vietnam?
This is if you already have your evisa for Vietnam approved...

Hei. guy, I do want to know that what type of Visa do you have for entering into Lao? is the visa-on-arrival available at the Lao Bao Border? the Northern Cau Treo Border. don't allow a visa-on-arrival into Lao. thanks a lot

Where did you get usd currency from in Vietnam ?
Just Google map currency exchange and it will lead you to shops that sell jewelry. You go in there and you can exchange your Dong into USD!
You don’t need to pay 100.000 vnd for exit.
I have a question. Im planning on coming to Laos soon with E-visa. I bought my ticket to Laos but havent bought my return one becaus I dont know how long I will stay there. If I dont book a return ticket, will there be a problem at the entry? Also Im going to Laos from Thailand. Same problem may occur here too ? I would appreacite it If you could reply
Hey Kyle you wont need one. Because you can easily cross the border to Vietnam or Cambodia. So if they ask just say thats what you will be doing. Here in Vietnam i've never been asked for a flight out

Was just watching another youtubers video living in Vietnam. He said it's no problem getting a 30 day visa extension and he knows many people that are already past 5 30 day exyensions fyi.

Yes, people are now on 5th or 6th 30-day eVisas.
But technically they are not extensions.
You must reappy, pay, exit and reenter every 30-days to VietNam. I hope that is clear.
