I made a video called 11,000 miles on a vitpilen 401. Then I put out a video called Husqvarna vitpilen 401 head gasket issue? What I found was that there is a block casting issue with the engine. These engines are made in India by Baja motors. Their absolute garbage. That would include to Duke 390, svartpilen 401, vitpilen 401 and any other for bike that has the single cylinder engine in it. As for me I will be sticking to Japanese motorcycles from now on.
I am a bit surprised you didn't speak about Kawasaki Versys X, this is a 300 cc adventure bike which is far better than BMW. Twin cylinders, very nimble with good power(40 HP) and quite good both on road and light trails.
I love my CRF 300LS , just threw a Yoshimura exhaust system on it, and got rid of the stock bars and ugly mirrors, I also added the Pro Taper clutch perch and lever. The next mod is suspension. I went with the LS because I ride around town a lot, and it's nice being a little lower to the ground when sitting at stop lights. I've been riding dirt bikes for 30 years, and this was the choice for my first on-road bike, but I'm seriously considering something with a little more power soon, riding the 300ls off road is a bit boring compared to my 450 dirt bikes, but I like the option. I'm really liking the Ninja 400, but the Rebel 500 is also calling my name. I'm not sure about another dual sport or anything over 600cc. I'm a slow cheetah at 40 years old. My squid days are falling away from me, but I do like being able to pass cars at 70+ on the highway, and I've found the CRF300ls isn't quite the bike for that. Screw it! I'll just get an R1 😂😂😂
Husqvarna use the same engine in their 401's as KTM 390's... so you will likely get good support from KTM dealerships on them mechanically but my nearby KTM dealer said anything to do with electronics and you are SOL and will need to find a proper authorized dealer.. which is like 2 hours away from me. Make sure you have an authorized dealer within a comfortable range is all I'm saying.

Coming from sportbikes on the road, riding motocross and test riding many different motorcycles weekly. I know The Vulcan S is the best small sport cruiser. 0-60mph in 4.2sec is not a joke if you can launch a motorcycle well and it handle so well in corners at full throttle you can trust your life with it while pushing the frame and tires to its limits. Cant say that about many cruisers. All in all its whoops on every bike in its lightweight cruiser class and it will even whoops on HD up to 114cin. @@KyngEazy Firstly I will say the look, I really like the svartpilen, it gives you a feeling that it can go off road as well. Second, I tried on the vitpilen, I think the sitting position is just painful, the sitting position is kinda like a sport bike like RC390, but its basically a street bike. If you are interesting in the 401s, I really recommend you go to a dealer, and try on yourself.

Been watching your channel a couple times now its really interesting and would join the discord soon. Loving your content bro and ride safe.
When I didn’t know anything about bikes I was talked into a Yamaha Bolt… it’s a decent bike but I definitely wouldn’t pick it now after 2 years of riding.
The Bolt isnt that bad. Good road presence and a solid motor. Also they're not as common as some others so a bit individualistic..
@@waynerichards2944 They Are Just a Bit overpriced for what they are. Lack a lot of modern conveniences and some staples, like no ABS, no tachometer, and being made of a lot of plastic really does hurt the looks.
I’ve done my research over the past year and ended up with the Aprilia pegaso 650 factory. I don’t think you have it in the US but it’s basically the perfect first bike combining low hp, high torque, a nice sound, practical and most important of all good reliability. Keeping in mind im 6’6, 220lbs and have to follow the a2 license rules :)
I’m curious if someone can cone up with a better option
I think I am going to get a RC390 for my first bike I am super excited and waiting for the right time/. I just want to say I appreciate all of your beginer videos, they have giving me a trove of information that might not have been so easy to dissect or find otherwise.
The RC390 is sweet but if you want a more comfortable upright position, get a Duke 390.
Same for me with RC390. Its a little bit tall for me but I wouldn't be caught dead on a shorter bike like a cruiser.
Yes, please. Especially CF MOTO. I am fed up with Japanese ones already. They are good we know it but we need something new and Chinese ones doing some good. I like to see them more in your trustable channel. Thanks.
Don’t forget the Versys-x 300, thanks for making great content!
35, car guy for years and my dad always rode a Harley im just not ready for that yet 😂 live in Colorado mountains and have a Honda/ Kawasaki / ktm dealership n town … ready for 2 wheels …. GO!!
KTM 390 Duke.
CFMoto 450SS would be a top contender for beginner sports bikes.
Surprised Yammie even mentioned the awesome Tiger Sport 660. I’m waiting for him to review it
Husqvarna use the same engine in their 401's as KTM 390's... so you will likely get good support from KTM dealerships on them mechanically but my nearby KTM dealer said anything to do with electronics and you are SOL and will need to find a proper authorized dealer.. which is like 2 hours away from me. Make sure you have an authorized dealer within a comfortable range is all I'm saying.
Honda shadow, Harley 883 , or KAW Vulcan . All the rest do not have a history of reliability or proven performance in regards to daily use !!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wouldn't be a Yamster video without a mention of the Hayabusa! 😊 ♥ 🏍 🏍
I ride a white Honda XR 150 L it's fun but outdated fs for a 2023 but still fun
Coming from sportbikes on the road, riding motocross and test riding many different motorcycles weekly. I know The Vulcan S is the best small sport cruiser. 0-60mph in 4.2sec is not a joke if you can launch a motorcycle well and it handle so well in corners at full throttle you can trust your life with it while pushing the frame and tires to its limits. Cant say that about many cruisers. All in all its whoops on every bike in its lightweight cruiser class and it will even whoops on HD up to 114cin. Dont steer people away form the Vulcan S, steer them away from the hayabusa instead.
Yammie you should try the currently popular kenyan bike Kibo K160 and tell us what you think of it as a beginner bike.
After watching motovlogs from doitwithdan and eventually jakethegardensnake, yammie, chase, and others since i was 13 years old, i finally bought my first motorcycle yesterday. I bought a 2021 KLX300sm
Just buy the street triple
You know you want it and are going to buy it within 6 months anyway
That tiger 660 looks sweet, I bet that would be an awesome sport tourer
we need an eu version of this
Yes because 18 year old beginners can only use bikes with max 125 cc
"No matter what you get it beats walking" lol couldn't have said it better myself 😂
This should be a 5 second video where Yam just says MT-07
Phantom 750 Best beginner cruiser for actually putting hours into the seat.
The Vstrom 650XT from Suzuki is also a good option for the beginner ADV category but it's not available everywhere.
Honestly with most modern bikes you can put it in less power and increase the power as you get better
I live in Los Angeles and will be making a 1 hour commute to & from work. Getting a motorcycle to try and avoid some traffic. Trying to choose between Honda Rebel 500 or Ninja 400
Just get the ninja600
i have a svartpilen 401 as my first motorcycle. So far I rode it for around 900km, and I love it. The neutral gear was quite hard to find at first 200km, but it will be much easier when you know the trick. Only one downside i have with it, is that I am 180cm and 105kg, this bike looks a little small for me
What made you choose the svartpillen over the vitpillen?
@@KyngEazy Firstly I will say the look, I really like the svartpilen, it gives you a feeling that it can go off road as well. Second, I tried on the vitpilen, I think the sitting position is just painful, the sitting position is kinda like a sport bike like RC390, but its basically a street bike. If you are interesting in the 401s, I really recommend you go to a dealer, and try on yourself.
@@KyngEazy Sit on the Vitpilen. It’s a cafe racer and extremely uncomfortable.
@@Nate-hf2hs So I'm stuck between the svartpilen and the honda 300L, can't decide at this point... Opposite from you, I'm one of those tall lanky dude so I'm really trying to avoid a heavy bike to start, how you liking that bike and you think it's good from someone just starting?
@@LivinProoof then the 401 will be very good for you. It is very nimble and lightweight (but it might be too lightweight, cuz sometimes if the wind is too strong, you will feed the wind is 'pushing' the bike). especially for svartpilen, it is very comfortable compared to vitpilen or other sport bikes, very suitable for city commuting
I'm surprised you don't have a more prominent mention of supermotos
They're amazing beginner bikes, even more so than dual sports due to the street tires and slightly lower seat (smaller wheels), but my guess is... there aren't a lot of factory ones, especially new ones, that you can add to the list.
Wanted the KLX with supermotos but It's not available where I live and crf300l would have been too expensive to convert so got me a Svartpilen 401 instead and not regretting
DL650 is my perfect adv beginner
Im owner of vulcan s, and try most from this list, for me, nothing better than Vulcan.
The best starter bike is a 97 Suzuki VZ800 Marauder. Ask me how I know 😊
Agreed the vz800 marauder is a fantastic bike.
just signed up for my msf course, very excited to get motoring.
My first bike the Tiger sport 660 just barely made it in lol
I'd enjoy a video about the best Chinese bikes, I won't lie. Cf Moto and lifan keep popping up all over the place anymore, and it's got me curious.
450SR
I'm also interested in them especially the 70p cl x considering it can be ridden as 2 separate bike eco/sport mode. Also cruise control!!!
I think everything from the 250 300 L rally Honda cb500x & that KTM 390 are all badass bikes I don't know much about that BMW 310 GS but seems like it would be a real 🆒 bike, depends on where you live n' how the traffic is blah blah blah I had the 250 L rally I loved that bike but now I have 2019 cb500x non-abs model it's definitely more of a 🏍️💨 riding on the street but it's not near as good off road. I was going to get the newer cb500x but I decided to save almost 2,000 & get the 2019, I picked mine up with only 500 miles, (basically 🆕) 81mph on GPS @ 6,100 RPMs i changed it to 16🦷⚙️ that helps spread out all the gears & drop RPM on the 🛣️(highway) that's pretty impressive if you can Cruise 80 mph all day on a little 500cc 🏍️💨 I won't lie it feels much more comfortable at 75mph tho
Yammie!! We all want to see you review the CF MOTO 450SR and compare it to the Ninja 400!!!!!!
I'm 6,6 (199 cm) and looking for my first bike. Went to sit on the Huski 401 yesterday. I fit but also sure it looks funny when I sit on such a small bike. Went to look at a XSR900 today. I fit and felt comfortable. Will probably go for that one or the XSR700.
Yeah for a first bike it doesn't really matter how it looks its purpose is to teach you to ride without being splattered all over a trucks bullbar, learn to ride first then go and get something bigger.
def go with the xsr700, but even then i dont know if id say their begginer bikes. have u looked into a supermoto? or even a dual sport as their tall, reliable and more fun then street bikes
@@basedbmw6752 my learner bike was an MT-07 with same engine as the XSR700. It's a nice engine for sure. I just like the seating position and looks much better on the XSR. Looks are important to me. I will use the bike more if I think it looks cool. Offroading in my country almost seems impossible, so mainly looking for street bikes :-)
@@n.andersen look into a trident 660 too man, for the same price you get so much more
@@basedbmw6752 thanks mate, but it's simply too small for me. Such a nice bike to look at but I would need the Tiger 660 and it's out of my price range 🥲
How about Benelli?
I was shocked not seeing the CF Moto 300SS or 450SS but then i saw the comment about including more chinese bikes so yes! please
Amazing channel
Keep it up
Thank you
Also royal enfield meteor 350 is a great beginner motorcycle. Cost is cheap and has abs breaks as well.
I'm a sucker for Cruisers...
Bought a new Yamaha MT09 SP (2022) one month ago as my first bike. WOW what a bike 😍
Survive!
Lol wonder how long that’ll last
Sheeeesh
@@Illness.og. It's not really difficult if you have the will power to ride the bike in mode 4 for the first few months. Very beginner friendly. When you're almost 40, you have a different mindset than when you're in your early 20s 😉
Africa twin. It's not easy but it's accessible
Anyone else buy the Svartpilen 401 and have a bunch of issues with it? first the starter in the first week of owning the bike followed by faulty fuel gauge and now the oil pressure sensor, planning on trading in before the warranty runs out.
Honda indonesia selling very thin motorcycle chasis with extra corrosion potential in short time
Ive been watching on facebook. Just now seen you on youtube. Had to subscribe.
I've grown fond of Lifan motorcycles.
And still no mention of the V-strom, in all of its glory from the 250 ,650,800,1000,and 1050cc versions, still,no love from yammy, so sad.
😂😂 I enjoy your content bro. Thank you.
He really should've included CFMoto. They have dealers all over the states, are cheap, and have a pretty good track record. That's what I'm getting once I can afford it
TJ' Cycles off of 35 has the Husqvarna 401 model.
I need to go demo ride that thing to get the itch out of my system.
It's a cool looking bike.
Can’t wait for the CRF300LS tp come out. I’m 166cm and have trouble in stop in go traffic on the 300L.
Yammy noob I wish you could say something about Honda building cg 125 remake for 2023
Best beginning bike is the hyabousa
In India we call these bikes advanced bikes, only people with enough experience will buy 300+ cc bikes. Quite a cultural difference. Gt650, Duke 390, INT650, GS310 are called big bikes in India while here they are advertised as beginner bikes. Quite shocking.
Well in india there are billions of people, tiny roads and you can barelt move without crashing into a human body so ye makes sense
Put some respect on the Vulcan S!
The Fact about cats is actually a fallacy that best exemplifies Survivor Bias
Guess I'm out of luck, all the bikes mentioned I'm unable to aquire or simply don't fit on
And last but not least
The Can Am Ryker
Crf 300 looks great in it's rally config imo
Great rundown! Svartpilen means black arrow, if you didn’t know. 😉
Cfmoto ss series, SR series outside of US. Hopefully 450SS/SR will be arriving soon. 😊
