- So it was a bad landing ok... just a bad landing haha. Before anyone gets upset because I've given it a good review, even though it broke, I've since taken to a skate park and had much better luck! It's a awesome little RC Car from WLtoys. I highly recommend!

@@roblowrie1969 I learned with new Rc or other toys I just buy them instead of asking my wife and being denied 99 percent of the time and getting a long lecture. So I just let my wife yell at me after getting it, Because at the end of the day I still have my new toy so I won't be sleeping alone 😅

Love your channel. You're my go to guy when I hear of a new wltoys car. You seem to know them well and cover their pros/cons well so I know what to expect. Just curious. Would you sign the body of my 124019 if I mailed it to you with return postage enclosed? I live in Missouri, USA but it'd be worth the postage cost if you would. Just a thought.

Yeah... the C hubs are a chronicle problem since the LC Racing and Tacon ones🙈 i think though that submerging them in WD40 for 24 hours it would be enough.
Still, very happy and can't wait to see the skate park beating; not because i'm sadistic but because it's an amazing way to see in fact what kind of platform we have in hands, with the particularly of seeing if this stretched chassis will bend or not.

Just one last note:
Regarding the 124018, i think it's less probably that the chassis bends (because of the upper structure), and if the 124019 chassi doesn't bend in the skate park, there's no need to take the 124018 to it.
One thing nobody did so far was approaching the 124018 upper structure; nobody disassemble it completely and it is a pertinent issue once the shocks mounts are linked to it.
The Chassis is good ;) I did see somebody remove the 018 Body. It has a plastic shock tower, but I think it will be strong still

My wife gifted me the 124018 and I am pretty happy with it. I am bloody new to RC. What I have learned and read so far is, that I need a better charger and a lipo warner. Do you or the community have any suggestions here? Plus I thought, that it might be good to buy the "usual" spare parts upfront so that in case of a damage, I have them already. Which should I buy?

The parts should be available now. I just bought the bottom plate, driveshaft with spur gear and bearings (one assembly), the middle brace and the side skirts for the bottom plate. They didn't have the body of the desert buggy or the spring mounts on the back arms (glad I got this instead).

They need metal diff cases, I've broken 2 already in tiny roll overs. I would think others would have mentioned this, or am I just having bad luck.?

I also drove with my Wltoys 124019 yesterday and then hit my bag with the right side and it is broken in exactly the same place above and below the steering cup I think that is the weak point in this car now has to wait for the spare parts in aluminum . Lg

You need to repack the diffs as there is little to no grease in them.

Are you able to get replacement parts for these yet? Those battery retainers look wider than the ones in my LC. I'd bet they'd bolt right into the LC chassis.
A lot of the 144001 parts fit. Apart from the chassis and centre shaft. The battery holder is wider, not tried it on my LC yet to see if it fits, but I’m sure they will 👍

Not sure, but for reference the Honda City Turbo is the same wheel base as the 144001, so shorter than this

How do these WL models compare to the LC Racing and Tacon versions?
LC Racing are better quality, but these are good for the money
how long did the motor last my friend, I worried cos it is brushless - but I guess a heatsink would help dissapate the heat :¬) It looks nice I really like the look of it, if it was brushless it would be super cool, probably the best r/c car inda woefull world, Hehehehehe!!!!
Not had any issues with the motors on these, or the smaller 144... they are pretty good
If anyone wants proof of how these new Series 3 Wltoys brushed ESC's do not handle 3s, go check out my video on it from last week, I sacrificed one deliberately for the purpose of making a video to show how they fail regardless of some that have shown it run on 3s, it's very hit and miss!
Just got mine it looks better in the flesh and is quick I’m well happy bargain at £75
true i call the esc the second gen of esc and they dont like 3s
I bought this and spend more on repairs than the actual car itself. After doing some bashing, a few pieces of plastic broke. Within the first week the esc and receiver broke after running it on sand. I managed to get it all repaired but it ended up costing me $200

Why WL ? I understand the price point vs other models but how about parts support ? Aftermarket ? I have a good collection but all I hear about on the tube these days is WL .... why ?
Because WLtoys are more affordable for a lot of people. They can spend a hundred dollars or so on upgrades and have a 100mph RC Car. Or if you are not in to speed runs you can have a decent buggy for not much money. The only down side is you can’t go to your local hobby shop for spares. But you can get spares, you just have to deal with waiting a few weeks for some stuff if it’s not on eBay.

They don't have the best track record with electronics, but it's cheap and easy to upgrade

Hey Phil, if you changed your camera audio to mono on purpose, thank you. It's refreshing not to have the narrator's voice jumping from left to right to center during each clip. Especially with headphones on :-)
I'm not sure I did for this. I've been testing a new set up the last few videos, it's Stereo still, bit not sure how it comes out on headphones.
@@TomleyRC How audio sounds in headphones is my biggest complaint about youtube producers. Audio is so largely ignored, and often the narrator's voice does as I mentioned above. Very irritating & so easy to fix - if the editing software provides a 'mono' audio mod. The effect is lasting, too, b/c when you switch to a montage & the music is in stereo, it's very refreshing. Just my 2 cents (sorry, just my 2-pence)
@@aljensen7779 Audio is the biggest thing I've been trying to sort out. Some channels are terrible! I've changed all my mics now and over the last month or so have been trying to get the right settings. I think i need to edit more with headphones on to get it right. I don't mind constructive criticism, so happy to keep listening to suggestions
@@TomleyRC Unfortunately the mono/stereo option is overlooked too, in editing software design & hard to find, if there at all. If you're using a good, desktop editor, it might be there but hidden. You're the first 'Tuber who's paid attention to my audio remarks, so thank you for that, Phil.

The motor mount and pin wheel screws are super glued in.
He is referring that trying to swap a motor with the stock motor mount is a nightmare (on the 144001 at least).
As far as I know, all 144001 aftermarket motor swaps should work for this.

Breaks on first jump. People seem to like WLToys due to good price and some metal. I have had several, they are junk and break on almost every run.
Well you may be surprised to hear that after this run, I fixed it and took it to the Skate Park... and it drove home ;)

No, no it isn't😒 Maybe with exeption of the x maxx, but otherwise traxxas is overpriced and not very though. I've sold my traxxas stuff and am just running chinese brands now. Cheaper AND more durable.

This is the problem with these cheaply china made banggood crap. When u break like you did because u will now you have to order from a china then it takes several weeks for ur cheap part to arrive and then it breaks again amd u repeat the process. This 1/12 scale car is a 130 dollars. Why on earth would anyone buy this piece of shit when they can spend 20 bucks more and get Traxxas bandit that is 1/10scale has every aftermarket upgrade known to man and every local hobby shop carries there parts in stock so no need to get it shipped on a slow boat from China. Blows my mind. U think u got a great deal when really u just got a cheaply made rc. These are just Chinese knock off like anything else you buy. U buy i iPhone because there good u don't go buy a Chinese knock off version of a iPhone instead because its cheaper? Wtf would u do that with a rc car lol
