What a great run through! It's nice to hear a drummer talking about choices of gear and experimenting with sounds. I get the impression that some guys don't even know what cymbals they have on that particular gig! I also didn't know about the Rock locks so I'm going to check them out here in the UK!
Rock Locks are the real deal! Definitely check 'em out! I am surprised how much some drummers DO know about the nuances of their gear and the brands they use! There are the occasional that lean heavily on their drum tech to make choices, but most drummers are GEAR NERDS! When I started this channel, the Rig Rundown guys joked that these episodes would be short and boring, they have learned just how far down the rabbit hole drummers go to get the right tone for the song, and even they think we are more gear obsessed than most guitarists, LOL! Thanks for watching!
Wow someone give this Anthony a sandwich, medal, award, Pre-Aged Dry Light ride, or whatever because this rock lock idea is fantastic! Those collector drums have had time to age. I have a kick from the 90s and the same thing. I haven't played on enough vintage kits to compare similar sizes and makeups to modern kits, but obviously the vintage guys out there swear by them because the wood aging and the tone developing more desirable whathaveyous. 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 is my go to. With it I can really cover the gambit of tonal requirements. 10, 13, 16 creates cool intervals. Trick makes aluminum drums. Aluminum drums won't flex like wood drums due to temperature change. This is a great plus if your drums basically live in the back of a bus or trailer for instance.
Hey Anthony saw you in Bremen and your performance and sound was just awesome 🎉... Will you be the full time drummer for Hollywood Undead?? I think they need so a good drummer ☝️
Thanks for having me, guys! Buy Rock Locks so I can retire!

That's awesome! And great point about the durability of aluminum on road runs!
You're awesome. The best thing about you-tube is run down videos or what's my gear type videos. They are so useful and helpful. @@drumrundown
HONEST ABE!!
So cool! NEED ONE!
Tunerfish have been my go to lug locks but I'll have to try rock locks. Do they come in clear?
I build aluminium kits and use maple re-rings! And I’m with you dude. Aluminium kits sound awesome. Dead punchy and super lightweight. 👊🏻
I think I am officially in the market for one now! lol
You should check out @vicidrumco. 👊🏻☺️🙏
