After discovering all six Figleys, the Narrator reveals he is not ready to give them up just yet, and with Stanley, they recall each and every time they discovered a Figley.

I just love how the Narrator's final speech can be interpurted as the creators saying, "This was fun, but we're moving on from The Stanley Parable." Even the Narrator's line of, "I did enjoy telling his story, so very much." Sounds more genuine, like it's more the voice actor saying how he enjoy telling Stanley's story. Regardless, thank you Stanley Parable, you truly are one of a kind.

I love how they programmed this ending to adapt to whatever order you collected the Figleys. 720 possible combinations, and they accounted for them all.

@@redandblue1013 Sure, but you still need to test out all the combinations to make sure the system doesn't have any unforeseen defects.

It’s not wrong. 6! = 720 permutations of 6 different objects
6 choices for the first, 5 choices for the second, …., 1 choice for the 6th
6*5*4*3*2*1 = 6!

by then the story would already be retired. after you finish everything you just start making more sequels with randomly generated titles remember?
so this ending is truly the final ending. after that, its up to the player what they wanna do next with the story.

It's a solid room, a pretty good room if i say so myself
I have a theory that the pink room is a place from, or representative of something from the Narrator's past that has been long forgotten about. That's why it popped up in the memory zone.

It's kinda ironic how that entire time he was convincing you that collecting them was pointless, there was no achievement or any reward for that, yet here we are

I just read this in a guide:
*"In the Figurines Ending, The Narrator has Stanley recollect the six figurines again in the same order (aside from the fourth, replaced by one in a pink room). After that, he has him recollect them again in backwards order. Stanley does not need to collect all of these figurines to progress, but can triple his count to 18 if he does (or, if you reset the game at the right point during the Ending, you can get 2 extra normally unaccessable Figurines, giving Stanley a total of 20)."*
Frustratingly it doesn't say anything about where or when to do this reset. Wondering if you (or anyone else) has heard of or done this, thanks : )
That's how it usually goes, first you have companionship, and later you grown tired of it, so you let it behind.
The narrator retired the original Stanley from the moment he first entered the Memory Zone, the sequel and announcement of the sequel are just a figment of the Narrator's imagination while he goes crazy on the omition button, thus creating another Stanley (& Stanley Parable game copy) in his mind.
I think this is a backstabbing for people, because if you're not too much into connecting the narrator commentary, you would have believe that this happened before the Stanley incident that causes the beggining of the game.
The epilogue shows that the original Stanley ended up returning back to the memory zone after the sequel fiasco, much years later, and returned back to turn on the computer.
To check on the configurations guy, to make him keep the narrator alive, but dead and trapped since there shouldn't be more content aside the new title screens.
The configurations guy also probably told him what happened to the narrator on this ending, that way both 'Stanleys' would be able to communicate even if one ends up dead (dissapearing).
So in the end, it was the original new content, the factor to retire Stanley, since all the devs could do, objectively is put jumps, elevators, and a commercial ride. And the cause of all 'NEW CONTENT' that the narrator had to be playing to in his mind.
So basically, this game's still Mindfucking even without the new extra endings.
Then theres that moment when you can have the bucket before the Narrator even introduces it in the sequel
It's amazing how a game apparently made with many "unconnected" endings, really does have a "linear" story that you can try to understand... even if it's complicated, sad and dark when you think about it

in the skip button ending, out of desperation the Narrator was able to mentally leave Stanley 1 behind and create Stanley 2 (and the sequel) in his head. This Stanley has a bit more autonomy than the first (mostly seen in bucket endings like refusing to throw it in the crusher, or putting it in the escape pod. maybe the Narrator misses seeing Stanley you know, IN MOTION.), and is the protagonist for the sequel. The player is sucked into Stanley 2’s perspective and the original Stanley is abandoned by both (until we return in the epilogue). It's why the Stanley Parable 2 is much kinder to Stanley overall, it’s a regret-filled apology.

It is, it just seems to change sometimes
There are multiple messages there and they're randomized
it's curious cause, on the original game the door was also randomly choosen if you could open it or not, meanwhile in this game it is always open
