- I flew on Air India’s new flagship, the A350-900 inaugural flight. This is the first plane that wears the new Air India livery. It is the first of 470 planes Air India has on order which is worth $70 billion. Can Air India regain its former glory?
My Air India A350 flight started from Mumbai to Chennai. The Business Class cabin has 28 fully enclosed private suites. Followed by Premium Economy cabin which has 24 seats and Economy with 264 seats. The crew on this flight wore new Air India uniforms with bright colors.
The humanities on these inaugural flights shine! The flight was in celebration mode with many aviation enthusiasts onboard, all wishing Air India well. The new A350 is leaps and bounds ahead, a complete change from the old Air India.
Upon landing in Chennai, I remained onboard for the next sector to Bengaluru. The captain has shared that the initial domestic flights were for training purposes before the A350 being inducted for long-haul international flights. The next sector was just 40 minutes but Air India served a meal onboard, it was hot vegetarian biryani.
Air India expects to receive 5 more A350-900s by April 2024. The airline has ordered a total of 20 A350-1000s and 20 A350-900s. Until the end of Feb, the A350 is deployed on domestic flights flying to the cities of Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Delhi.

Its love also for the Tata group. It was founded by tatas then taken over by government which ran it into heavy losses. Tatas took it back by paying heavy prices and is trying very hard to revive the brand.

During 1960's and 1970's Air India🇮🇳 was one of the best Airlines in the whole world.Tata Companies never compromise on quality.Ratan Tata has always worked for India🇮🇳 rather than for his personal milestones.Within some years,Air India would be the best in class.

Air India is gonna look totally different by the end of 2024, with refurbished B777s and B787s and new aircrafts like A350-900s. No doubt that it returned to the rightful owner.

@@vinodkaka5225 According to wikipedia 3 B777-200 LRs are gonna retire by March 2024, I think because previously the remaining A350-900s were gonna deliver in March, but the delivery got delayed to June, so i wonder if the B777-200 LRs are gonna retire in March or not. But B777-300 ERs are not gonna retire soon that's for sure. According to the latest update from Boeing, they are gonna start delivery of B777 X from next year, so until then I don't think so that they will retire any of the B777-300 ERs. Moreover they are leasing more B777-300 ERs till all the new orders will be delivered. Plz note that all this data is from Wikipedia and hence rely on them accordingly.
You did not show air india in a true light. You sat in economy on a exit aisle and no one next to you which is not showing how economy actually is! Your just adverisiting them Instead of giving us consumers a true light like josh would

I feel somewhere you will never see so much of a country coming together with pride to celebrate aviation history like this. And you also would never see patrons get so excited and harmoniously come together to commemorate such an occasion. Also, the amount of love Sam received during this whole journey, just shows how much warmth comes out of India and its people as a whole.... India is always a lot of love and coming together ❤😊

Sam deserves a lot of credit for that.
The way i see that is one guy is sharing is experience and being real no matter the backlash he faces meanwhile the other makes brand friendly content to stay in the good books of every airline so he can get invited/able to access more special experiences for content. They are 2 different ways of going about their content with both pros and cons of each method but personally i prefer the more "real" approach Josh has as its similar to what we as normal customers are likely to experience

As an Indian Avgeek, I’m happy to see Air India take the delivery of its new widebody jet since 2013. This new A350 product looks gorgeous and this emphasizes the improvements in Air India: Friendly crew, delicious food, on-time departure and arrival, etc, It’s something to feel proud of. I've flown on A350s multiple times, probably one of my favorite airlines. The quiet and spacious cabin is great! +the winglets are super cool

There is still no match to 787 Dreamliner series in terms of comfort.
I like how Sam addressed the differences with Josh. It always bothers me when I see other aviation UA-camrs that I like giving Sam a hard time for how he chooses to share his own content. Sam has been doing this for a long time and is too well known to ever be able to do fair reviews because they know who he is and treat him accordingly. Guys like Josh, Noel Phillips, Paul Lucas (Three of my favourite commercial aviation UA-camrs) and others don't really get that they and Sam compliment each other. Sam is the glossy travel magazine that gets access to things because he's well known, but will never get "normal" treatment that's necessary to give a fair review. The others are like a Lonely Planet travel guide that can give you a review that's a bit closer to what the average person experiences. (This is something they will struggle to do as their viewership and notoriety increases.) I enjoy both types of content, and I think I'm smart enough to keep them both in perspective. I see no need to choose one type of video over another. I've never seen Sam say a bad word about anyone, and I wish others would take the high road like him.

I don't know the true story but I am guessing Josh might have upset Sam when he mentioned his name in one of the video saying that unlike Sam, he (Josh) doesn't promote an airline or talk good about them just to get a free trip. This might have created a problem between them.

There have been some major upgrades and the service especially was excellent. Air India's making strides. Loved seeing how excited everybody was.
This is a very important step in the right direction for giving India a great airline they can finally be proud of. I’m glad that Sam and Josh were able to settle their differences like gentlemen.
In fact, the first six Air India A350-900s are all cancelled Aeroflot orders and have the same interior as Aeroflot. Essentially an Aeroflot hard product with the rest of the experience being Air India.

It’s good to see AIRINDIA serve food on every sector .. it really means a lot to the needy laborers who fly abroad and even the water much appreciated.. unlike INDIGO and other carriers who say they are low cost carriers but eventually their ticket price is so high and you don’t even get bottle of water for free …
