I found you a few days ago, and I have to say that I love your content and your dry humour a lot. Keep it up! You won yourself one dumb dane with way too much free time.
I think shem was developer intended to be the ideal place to build a base. It's right in the center of the map, has every resource available in decent quantity, and is just outside the range for all of the major factions non hostile raid events. Plus it's a desert oasis biome which is just cool by itself. I love shem.
I accidentally modded Shem into a horde battfield. Totally separate mods, I never intended to react together. Tech hunters tried to kill me for my bounty, the town defended me and saved me. But then a huge hord of starving bandits invaded. All the town dead from either the tech hunters or starving bandits. Then swamp ninja invade. They're too powerful and too many. We are forced to flee. My group watched from a distance as the ninja killed the few left in town. I never expected such horror in Shem. Kenshi is amazing.
I like to imagine their posture is directly linked to the size of the bank account, if they buy something expensive and loose a bunch of money, they just creek downward
A benefit to a hiver workforce is the either eat half (0.50) or mostly half (0.60) the rate of regular humans, so they're pretty good at living in the desert on their own.
Hazzor, you really do sound like someone took a grim kleaper/reggie video, gave it to a soft spoken English or History professor and had him speak it all - and i love it. Especially your pace and flow
The trick about building in shem is not to start until you have stockpiled enough materials to finish it all in one go. Otherwise you never finish it because you will be constantly be under attack and unable to finish work. Definitely my favorite base.
This is why buying and playing games after they've been out for a few years is so much fun for me. People make these hilarious and informative videos for strats after grinding, and I get to chill and learn. It's laziness for sure, hats off to the creator. This was a good time to watch.
Even if you had an army of hivers to sling quality videos out, you couldn't upload fast enough. Thanks for the great videos! Really looking forward to the next part of the rimworld medieval overhaul and see the rise from ashes! (or more likely rise from corpses with the dune-like prophetic children)
You can make smaller walls around water and second(first) gate in front of it. If this gate will be open everyone will come to it. Hostiles will swim to the next gate, but traders and friendlies will stop in front. This can help with confusion of making enemies from friendlies.
That's just another layer of defense. Nut and Bolt are robots so they don't care about biohazards, and it's not like their "workers" need to go anywhere
This is really cool. I also started an outpost in Shem, but I built it in an area where the sands transition to the rocky cliffs. That way I have good stone yield on the higher ground, and good farmland on the lower ground. Having seen this, I think I'll expand the farm area to include an oasis, then use that gate harpoon trick to kill Eyegore. Ive been on a campaign of terror against the slave masters, and hes due to visit me any day now
Enjoyed this, as always. Now it's time to feed Mr.Gorithm. With all the happy fun time grass, prisoners with jobs, friends for hire and murder lakes he might need some kibble to look the other way.
Hive Drones make ideal slaves, since they have a 0.5x hunger modifier, immunity to acid, 0.3x bleed and bonuses to farming and laboring. Getting their limbs knocked off can be an issue, but shouldn't be if they're not put in harms way, and replacing any dismemberments is easy with the amount of money (or resources) they bring in
*Shots Leviathan with crossbow...* "I sorta just wanted to go an exotic place and shoot a big dangerous animal from completely safety... [PAUSES] ...thats what 'RICH PEOPLE' do after all, right!?!?!" Clap Clap, you just won a subscriber my dear friend!
Now that nut and bolt are rich, they can now assimilate the meatbags and place robot limbs upon them. Bring the return of the skeletons with the neo-skeleton army
You would think Skeletons could just detatch their limbs and install new ones at will instead of needing them to be hacked off. Some of the prosthetics are literally Skeleton limbs, after all. And once they have a “prosthetic,” they can attach and detach it just fine.
I prefer having a gauntlet to my gates when I play, its cheesy, but can still be hard once you start crafting master class weapons and the wealth increases to the point theres massive raids. In my experience, the raids ends up becoming the main entertainment factor for settlements after a while.
the scenario would've been hilarious if hungry beak things followed the scent of the dead, decided to swim for the bodies and then for the succulent hivers behind the gates
Kenshi's naming system can be unfortunate sometimes. I remember my first playthrough, walking into a bar to look for some recruits. There I see a scorchlander man with skin like coal, for whom the system had rolled the name Spade. I almost choked. He became my best bruiser. Then died to Cat-Lon...
The hash empire is a strong and nobel lineage. Their pockets are mighty and spirits are high. I spent a fortune freeing all the slave plantations. More workers for the hash empire, a 420 fractal upward spiral 😂
my first playthrough i bought a handful of slaves. soon as i let them down they were off to the races...... i was able to catch all 5 or so. ran them all the way to base. where they eventually all starved in the walls lol. pretty sure not single 1 joined. so yea wasnt my happy face. and i was broke at that stage spent most my money on them for farming...... but ofc was waste of money and time.
Hey folks, I bequeath unto thee my content.

that got a good chuckle out of me too.

The Fog Islands have everything aswell. Mongrel is one of the best cities too.

Me and reggie talked about this as an april fools bit.

He sounds strikingly similar to Ahoy to me. Same accent, same tone, same cadence
Wow really good video the editing and the camera angles makes kenshi look so good.
Thanks, it's always very nice to record Kenshi after so many games with less visual interest.
Making a corpse pond is more than enough motivation to play Kenshi again.

Jesus imagine what a biohazard that pond would be after a few weeks, worse than the Pacific islands in WW2

It took Reggie's Kenshi video almost an hour to be age restricted but I think I'm in the clear lol
Love it Hazzor! The editing is awesome :)
Love it, thanks for another gem of a video. NOW BACK TO FIELDS TO MAKE MORE!!!
yes sir right away sir.
I love that people still play Kenshi and create new stories for their playthroughs
The AOE2 soundtrack at 9:37 fits so perfectly for the scheming.
I do like to imagine, in 10 years, Nut and Bolt roll up across Kenshi and destroys the local economy by flooding it with Cats.
7:00 - FINALLY someone who knows how and where to sell hash!
I absolutely love your content. I recently found you and I keep rewatching all your videos.
Hello again indeed! Always love the music you use on these videos, Hazzor! Looking forward to seeing the channel continue to grow and evolve!
I really enjoyed this. Great storytelling and editing. Though I would have loved some fighting shots. I'm sure you had to use those turrets a lot.
I'm on my knees begging for another medieval rimworld episode
Yeah it'll come around, you don't need to beg.
I know how invested in that story folks are.
@@HazzorPlaysGamesthank you father

Man, my only complaint about your videos is that there aren't enough of them. Love your content, love your narration, another banger as usual.
I wish hazzor would narrate me cozying up for sleep. I think it would substantially improve the experience :)
I'm curious how all that hash would affect the outer lands of Kenshi. Must be less wars now that everyone is high as a kite lol
Or more wars to control the supply
No, they smoke in the harsh sun and all get headaches and get grumpy cause there's no good snacks to munch on.

That is factually correct, yes.
