Hey nick I was watching your UA-cam settings video. I can't find the channel recommendations tab. I was wondering is it still there. The video I watched was 3yrs old. I'm just starting my gaming channel.
Thank you very much. Please I have a question… can I post both cooking and baking videos on 1 channel ???
Thanks Nick, your channel is so helpful
Nick you are a beast. I've been working so hard on my channel and watching pretty much everything you produce. I wish I could afford to hire you. Thank you for all you do. ~ Eric
Have you heard about thumbzstudio, It is a free tool for amazing thumbnail designs.
SO AWESOME !! Love seeing the NEW NEW crew collide with the New crew.
To the person who is reading this, don't give up on your channel. Keep going, Its going to be better. 💯
Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤️
❤️
Very inspiring
Thank you Sir♥️
Just wanted to let you know that I've been subscribed for a few years now. With you and the other youtube gurus help, I have been able to grow two channels. First one up to almost 5k, and this one, which is going to hit 1k this week. I don't watch you as much as I do years ago, but your videos are so valuable. Not only for beginners, I don't miss thumbnail videos ever lol. I just want to thank you for your years of dedication to helping all of us.
Congratulations on both channels!!!
Thank you for an awesome collab Nick!
Great job guys!
🙌🏾
Thank YOU for sharing your knowledge!!!!
You Did Great Also!
Welcome, to the Nimminati!
2 things all money / personal finance thumbnails need:
1. Shocked expression
2. Fire
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thumbnails are so important because this is YOUR chance to catch someone's attention. I am still learning and experimenting on the channel and I think we all should keep trying and seeing what works and what doesn't! Amazing video 🤩
👊 🤓
*Its so Amazing how Nick is not a UPS delivery guy but still manages to deliver in his Videos*
Boooooommmmmm!
@@NickNimmin pin 📌 this
What elevated this video is that you didn’t just rate the Thumbnails - you gave specific ways to improve. This is rarer than you may think. I’ve seen a lot of reviews, but what I’m looking for is direction. Especially as this is an area I’m working to improve.
Awesome, glad you liked how we did it!
These are some great tips!! Real examples always help me understand better and I really like the 3 ways Nate mentioned to measure thumbnails! Love this collab! :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Done 😊
I've just watched both videos and my brain just exploded.... proper nerdgasm hehe. You know when you've made it Nick when Nate from CM labels you a YT EXPERT!
Very well done... that was fantastic!
👊 🤓
For all my fellow content creators starting their channels, let's just be 1% better every day. Let's make this our focus, keep grinding and believing. We have this family. Let's get it!
super tips , definitely makes you think about how we make our thumbnails. thanks guys !
This was an amazing watch, the detailed breakdown and ranking of different thumbnails was very educational!
Great tips boys, nice to see you working it together. Both video's were great
Thanks!
Thank you Nick! I appreciate the effort :D
Thanks to both of you for this! Explaining factors that contribute to an excellent thumbnail is what many of us need. I also appreciate that the thumbnails used were from smaller channels that I can relate to.
🔥 Awesome critiques here and a great framework to consider for thumbnails. Thanks for the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really enjoyed this video : ) Great collab! Nick and Nate are awesome💕👍
Awesome job guys! Heading over to watch the collab on Nate's channel now! Thanks for the great tips!
👊 🤓
Loved the Collab and to be honest watching these 2 videos back to back, a 💡 went off in my head on the workings of Collabs. I had a complete different vision on it.
This is kind of funny because not only did I get great information from the 2 separate videos with the collab between Nick and Nate, I also got a better understanding on the working of Collaborations! So Lot's of learning going on today and I love it!
Thanks So Much Nick and Nate 💯
Awesome Brad!
This is some awesome and very valuable guidance on thumbnails. I hope you do more of this in the future. Thanks Nick and Nate!
Thanks Ron!
Very helpful, thank you. I enjoy when you two combine wisdom with us. Just watched another collab of you two on Nates channel
Glad you enjoyed it! I hope you enjoyed the video on Nate’s channel too!

Good Morning Nick✨ Thanks a bunch 👍
Good morning!
Great collaboration, my favorite two youtuber channels!
❤️
Awesome video thanks for all the tips on thumbnails loved this I'm happy with most of my thumbnails but I definitely can improve
Love it!! Love the thumbnail reviews! Awesome tips! Thank you to you both😍
Our pleasure!
Thumbnails are one of the things I struggle with making but I’m still counting on by content becoming better at the moment right now.
Thumbs are one of the many things we have to get good at as creators.
so helpful Nick! thanks for this one! loved your collab on Nate's channel too! super helpful!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Incredibly helpful topic. I'd love to see more like this from you two. You guys make a great duet.
Wow great advices! Would love to get my thumbnails reviewed. Its amazing how someone else can dee it in a totally different way! 😊👍
Two of my favorites teaming up and I'm here for it y'all
👊 🤓
The protein bar thumbnail illustrates a point about thumbnails that I struggle with: clever thumbnails are not necessarily good thumbnails. So the creator had the idea to re-create the shot from the film, and put a lot of effort into re-creating the shot, and the fact that it was clever and took a lot of effort tricked the creator into thinking it was valuable. But if it doesn't actually drive clicks, then it's not valuable. Another example of this is when the creator puts a joke or pun in the thumbnail. Clever does not equal good.
I really enjoyed watching this. Reviewing the thumbnails, describing what is wrong and how they could be improved communicated your points really well.
Thanks Nick and Nate!!!
I think a thumbnail where Nick and Nate swapped hairstyles would be amazing. Great content.
Ha!
Thank you Nick… so helpful! 💕
This was such a great collab! Thank you so much for sharing all of your tips for better thumbnails. A lot of them I was actually interested in trying one day. I'll have to experiment with them for the types of thumbnails I'm currently making.
🤓 ✋
You may have covered it before, but I'd love to see you guys do this with some cooking channels, man. Cooking channels are all about the dish being cooked, so it's almost mandatory that you show the dish, of course. Other than that there doesn't seem to be too many directions to take it, besides adding the name of the dish, a picture of yourself smiling and holding the dish, a picture of you taking a huge bite of the food, etc. I really don't see many variations beyond that, words or no words on the thumbnail, that kind of thing. So far what has worked best for me is just a nice close-up of the finished dish. I know I personally tend to click on the thumbnail with best-looking picture of the dish I want to make. Would love to see that niche unpacked a bit.
Noted! Sometimes the simplest idea is the best one - as you said, the dish IS the hero.
@@NickNimmin indeed!
Loved to see a video with the two of you together. Thanks!
👊 🤓
Wzup Nick, I really enjoyed the double collab. Just saw Nate's video as well. 👋👊💯
Hey Stevon!
Great video! Thank you!
Could you share how you put the red marker lines onto the images in your videos?
Good job! I like the commentaries about the videos itself. That helped me the most! Currently, I'm doing pretty bad with thumbnails and don't feel great creating them. However, I know how important they are and that's why I landed here :)
Finally been waiting for this and it came in the perfect time because I just updated some of my Thumbnails yesterday
Boom! Thanks for watching!
One thing I really liked about that Hunting thumbnail was that it partially answered the question, gave the impression that there was actual information there, and if you know about hunting it seems a little weird to do. I mostly do gaming content, and one of my favorite things I've been working on in my build videos is to show something that shouldn't work (but does) in the thumbnail. Like if there was an item that's notorious really bad in the game and I use it for one of the builds I'm showcasing, it's going to be eye catching to people that understand that its bad. They'll see something thats out of place, wonder why its there, and watch till the explanation.
A lot of other channels do something similar. If the title is a yes or no question, maybe you just give the yes or no in the thumbnail. If you give a potential viewer a sneak peak before they click, they're more likely to click. Just make sure it's not pure bait, as that might give you an impression but won't result in a sub or high view duration.
Thanks, Nick! Thanks for the advice! Taking down many notes. I appreciate the Tech advice from Nate too!
Love. it. so helpful!
Also when I tried to comment and the guidelines popped up, I thought it said 1. No dumb questions! 😂 misread lol
Awesome tips here. Thanks so much Nick and Nate.
Usually, when I'm done designing my thumbnail, I look at critically and ask myself:
If I was searching for a topic like this, will this thumbnail make me click it?
If you judge yourself sincerely, you might also get better with thumbnails.
Incredibly helpful!! Thank you so much!! I love that you all broke down each thing and explained in depth the good and bad.
Our pleasure!
This is great. Nice to hear your opinions on someone's work.
Thank you for creating and sharing these great tips Nick and Nate - just uploaded a video yesterday and it occured to me that the thumbnail would have gotten negative numbers on Nates rating scale😜 - hopefully the new one does the job better.
I’m about to go redo most of mine after all this!
I put so much in filming I slacked on thumbs
Great collab guys!
👊 🤓
I missed this hopefully you all have another thumbnail evaluation in the future 🤙🏾
You and Nate are UA-cam Angels. We appreciate and love you so much!
🙏
Such a great collaboration! I’m definitely going to look to use these tips on my thumbnails going forward and even some of my existing thumbnails
🤓 ✋
Love this match yp you guys...the 2 best giving us the the s*** we need, thank N&N
👊 ✋
Great you cover thumbnails as it is so important. Still trying to figure this one out myself as to what seems to interest people.
Hello Nick... I have a question and im really interested about it... Well my video got about 1000views (which is pretty cool for my channel) on that video watch time was pretty bad if we compare it to other videos on my channel also i never added tags on that video im still wondering why it blew up so much when my other videos only get like 200views which has better retention rate better ctr and better everything thank you and sorry for my bad english
Without the benefit of seeing your stats, I would lean on the topic/subject of the video being more appealing, and possibly a more effective title/thumbnail combination. Your analytics will give you some more insight over time.
@@NickNimmin Thank you
Nick-N-Nate! LOL. I've enjoyed watching Nate grow his channel as much as I enjoyed the great information from you both! That kid Nate is going places!
Absolutely!
@@NickNimmin Howdy-Howdy! LOL
I've enjoyed you and your brother's pages also, for years!

Currently upping my thumbnail game. Very helpful video! Thanks Nick and Nate!.... hmmm ..once a a month Nick and Nate show?
🤔
Pretty good tips. Loving the collab
Great video y'all. I soooo need to get better at making thumbnails cause right now i just use what youtube makes when I upload. I know i need too make better quality thumbnails.
This is true. Great thumbnails makes great views.
Thank you very much for this info!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for making this videos, It gave me some new Ideas to go off of. I am always working on making better thumb nails.
I really like that you picked channel with 50 subscribers and 150 views... I mean spread the love
You guys rock! Simple! Keep it going!!! Keep us filled with the stuff we need as creators !
😎👊
Funny, I was pondering this very question shortly after I woke up this morning.
Loving this collab!
And Learning these tips will master us in UA-cam platform
Thanks Nick this helps me fine-tune my thumbnails
👊 🤓
Thank you sir for the good idea...you share..i will try it sir thank you very much
Thank you for sharing such great information, will definitely apply them!
My pleasure! 🤓👊
Is it me or on the first thumbnail, there is a completely different headshot underneath to one shown. Almost like she had a thumbnail with a different image for headshot and just overlaid her new one. I thought it was the same image at first but you can see in the background image the hair is pushed behind the ear and the top image has the hair over the ear.
Great video guys....
I like the way you demonstrate the whole process,
🤓👊
I'm so glad I discovered your channel
Welcome aboard! 🤓✋
as always. great video! likes and watch hours are jumping crazy following your tips. Just working on getting those subscriptions up!
Thanks so much again for this gem !
Hey man I really love & enjoy your content I have literally learned a lot from you on editing videos and basic youtube concepts as a beginner however I have two important question prioritizing the first one..
How do I measure my UA-cam success? What are the analytics to know that my youtube is doing fine and successful?
I have a UA-cam intro of 8 seconds and I keep having these thoughts that it's too long but I really do like it and people are engaging just fine with it, what would be your opinion??
Success is what you want it to be. It could be earning a few $$ each month, it could be have a small tight-knit community, it could be going full-time. When it comes to channel growth, seeing stats improve month over month is a win - again, its bettering your previous outcomes over time.
For the intro - test it. Do a number of videos without it, and see if your audience retention improves markedly, or if it doesn't really make a difference. Compare similar videos with and without the intro.
Thanks a lot man, makes very good sense to me.
Love these Collabs!
Thanks for this. I always appreciate the insight. There’s always something to improve.
I might just use this.
Thank you for sharing! Great tips in this video!
Thanks!
This is an amazing video please so more of it, it really helped understand more things about thumbnails. I hope i will be able to make thumbnails from now on.
Of course i would be glad if you can give me some tips regarding my thumbnails.
Incredibly insightful!
Grabster, my dude! I hope you’re doing awesome!
@@NickNimmin I'm doing great! Just been super busy with life.
I try to do my best but it is difficult to find content because I don't know how to find what other people like but
I have only been going on youtube for 3 months and I even deleted some of my videos that weren't successful thanks for the UA-cam tips
You do not need to delete videos that don't perform. Leave them. Use them to learn what wasn't working. Given time, some of those might pick up weeks, months, or even years later.
I just want to thank you guys for the information you provide, its been really helpfull 😃
Our pleasure!
I want to know how to select a picture of our choice for a thumbnail in a video itself.
This was a really good and helpful video. Great work/collab :) :)
Great video guys 🙌🏼🤩
Glad you liked it!!
if you do another video on this i have a thumbnail that i would like to be reviewed if possible
Does the thumbnail match the audience?
Is the thumbnail high quality?
How easy is it to understand the thumbnail?
Does the thumbnail make the audience curious or create a sense of expectation?
Does the thumbnail stand out (use red circles or arrows)?
How easy is it to see and understand the thumbnail elements from a phone screen or from six feet away?
Do another one of these in the near future
I wonder how to make good food thumbnails. Sometimes im unsure of what is catchy
can updating a thumbnail or a title throw a video/a short back into the algorithm again after it died?
Would also like to know this.
This is super cool. How do I get my channel critiqued because I feel like I need a lot of help!
