I have watched many videos of how to make a viral thumbnail or video on this platform, and each time I seem to forget what I just watched. This is by far the definitive "How to make a killer youtube thumbnail" video. It breaks down everything into easy to understand points, and she gives a summary chart so nobody has to waste more time taking notes, and more time taking action!
Hi Aprilynne, this wasn't just a masterclass in thumbnail design, but also editing and research. So much went into this video and we applaud you for it!
This is amazing - I had basically given up on watching youtuber advice videos recently bc so many of them are just the same regurgitated mr. beast quotes over and over again, with a few notes on confidence and stage presence. However, your videos (this one + the intro one) are genuinely very well crafted advice from someone who clearly is interested in studying youtube. The information is both novel and digestible, and mostly I can see how it actually could apply in various niches, making it far more useful to me. Also, you're completely correct on your thumbnail standing out - that's the exact reason I clicked on the intro video in the first place - the aesthetic vibe of your thumbnail implied that the video would be far more appealing to me than the usual braggadocious vibe of other youtube advice youtubers (who often unfortunately remind me of the phrase 'those who can't do, teach'). I'm really planning on incorporating your advice here and in the intro vid to the best of my ability and seeing what happens.
Wow, thank you so, so much. It's definitely something I was hyper-aware of when I decided to make a channel within this niche: there's a lot of wishy-washy and BS "advice" touted around by self-proclaimed "UA-cam gurus", and I didn't want to be anything like them. I'm so glad this video was genuinely helpful to you 💙

Hey Aprilynne, Thank you so much for your valuable content! 🌺After I watched this video, it has transformed my editing process. I've been on UA-cam for many years, have a few channels, but upload videos rarely. Thanks to you, I started a new channel and implemented many tips from your video. I spent 43 hours 😲only on editing one video, which is 16 minutes of length, not including time spent on researching b-rolls, creating a subscribe button, subtitles, thumbnails, and other tasks related to uploading and post-uploading processes on UA-cam. Although only 8 people have watched that video so far, 🤗I believe with consistency and experience, each video will improve, and attract people who are interest in the subject. Thank you again for your valuable content! Good luck with your journey on UA-cam! ☺🌼🌼🌼
I just created my Art Channel 3 weeks ago with now 70 subscribers. Working so hard on it to provide value to people and share my knowledge I wish all small Channels big success 🌺
I'm not really interested in being a full time youtuber or going big, but occasionally releasing videos related around things I like. Watching your video, however was very insightful in case I want to go bigger, or try something different. The production quality and information you provided was crazy good!

April! We did debate together in high school, and I was so happy to see you featured on Publish Press today! You're amazing - keep rocking
Dedee! (or is it Donovan?) Thank you so, so much - I really appreciate it 💙 Hope you're doing well!
Why is this free?
It isn’t :) she’s making ad revenue! ❤
i have always struggled the most with thumbnails and this is so helpful thank you
I don’t usually comment but you putting a whole cheat sheet at the end when I was going to write it all down really was the cherry on top. Subscribed and liked 👍🏽
I clicked on your thumbnail not just because it stood out but because it was also beautiful. GREAT content!
I've seen so many thumbnail videos but this is the first that goes beyond "it's really important, create curiosity, and stand out" which are all very true but it's so helpful to actually be told HOW! The infographic at the end was also extremely valuable, and I can't say how much I appreciate it!!
Ahhh I'm so glad you found this helpful!! Thank you so, so much!
I can't believe this is FREE!!!!!! WOW, fr. Next level helpful. And girl I had goosebumbps listening to this, everything is just so GOOOOOOD. Can't thank you enough!!!!!
Very informative...work in progress !
You're b roll expressions were amazing!
hahaha thank you so much
I'm not even 10 minutes into the video, and this video is easily one of the best videos I've seen about thumbnails! Amazing stuff
This was suggested to me from a member of the PTYA community. You did an amazing job. Thanks you.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!
a lot of hard work and research was put into this video, and the result talks for itself.
I just created my Art Channel 3 weeks ago with now 70 subscribers. Working so hard on it to provide value to people and share my knowledge
I wish all small Channels big success 🌺
I'm not really interested in being a full time youtuber or going big, but occasionally releasing videos related around things I like. Watching your video, however was very insightful in case I want to go bigger, or try something different. The production quality and information you provided was crazy good!
Best UA-cam tutorial I have seen in my life!
I didn’t click for 4 days because it was a similar thumb to your previous video so thought it was a video I’d already seen. It was only when I saw it say uploaded 4 days ago did I realise I wanted to watch. Just feedback you may be interested in. Great video as usual, your videos are the best in your niche atm imo.. you’re gonna blow up huge.
This is the first useful thumbnail video I've watched. Explaining the different curiosity gaps is hugely helpful.
I’ve been lacking on thumbnails lately, thanks for this!
WOW, seriously one of the best videos I have ever watched. KILLER VIDEO!
This is excellent advice, and the PDF download from your website immediately went into my UA-cam workflow checklist. Thank you!
This was one of the best, well-produced video I have seen on UA-cam. The information is so informative I can't wait to implement these new strategies with my old and new thumbnails. I am subscribing to your channel. I can't wait to watch some of your other videos.
Girl. You are the best out there. Looking forward for more people to see you❤️
Amazing video. Thank you, Aprilynne
What a mindblowing science... Thank you for this video. A masterclass Aprilynne! Wow.
I must say that your two videos about titles & thumbnails and intros are truly amazing! So much value. :)
Thanks for taking all the time researching and constructing a system around these topics!
The amount of work that went into the research and production of this video is mind blowing 🤯
Best video on this subject!! Covers everything... Feels like I got a PHD on Thumbnails! 💪🏻
