That's how sales works. Most people don't care about specs, they care about demand. When I used to work in sales, when we wanted to sell a product, we just said it was our most popular model. Not the highest quality or best value, just the most popular. Incidentally, that was always just the product with the highest commission rate.
He's dealing with the same people who invest in art regardless of their taste for the art and make decisions based on rarity and the possible increase in value. I would imagine most of his clients only care about exclusivity and price.
Their gesture is really really different to him as well. And the owner said that this place isn't just about selling watches, its about the best experience blablabla and then they didn't even offer him a glass of champagne.
@Herbert Hannibal I think that the champagne thing does look rather bad for them. There are three people there - you get three glasses, very easy. But honestly, I might not have gone for a handshake on a person who is currently filming either because I would assume that they might not want to do that and it might ruin their shot. Either way, those people might be socially inept or they might also be incredibly nervous and when you are nervous it's very easy to overlook things and make mistakes on the go. I feel that if they have reached that level, it means that they are doing some things right.
I …also love the relationship that Michael and Adam have…Maybe Michael came from humble beginnings and the gem in his character is that he never forgot it…
he has confidence in everything he does, he is happy to easily admit when he doesnt know something or needs help, thats what makes a good man right there
If I had disposable income, that situation wouldn’t be uncomfortable at all. The reason why I would find it uncomfortable is if I felt pressured to buy something. If I could buy anything there without a second thought it would be pretty chill.

N E chump with an iPhone X could do infinitely better = rad built-in automatic stabilization on them, & the quality in regular 1080p is as good or better than super-expensive stuff 4 'movies' & so on. The tiny lens is actually a benefit 2, as less issues with focus, which Adam wastes a ton of time on, waiting 4 the camera (as if he can't put it on 'manual' either = LOL!!)
Michael is always so nice calling people ”watch experts” when they clearly dont know much about the brands or models. Crazy considering they probably spend time around watches all day. All these people and companys selling a few of the ”It” references, preferebly covered in diamonds. They have nothing to do with horology or watchloving. They would sell anything, for some of them It just happened to be watches. And for some reason many of the watch-salesmen featured on this channel give of a vibe of beeing really untrustworthy. @@soultaker840 if you were given a discount from any AD, on any brand that AD has & Is an authorized dealer for (as long as it’s actually a luxury watch brand) then you didn’t get fucked. Not even a little bit. No AD is required to give a discount, with most brands it’s highly frowned upon, & in some cases a flat out “no no” to give discounts on the MSRP. Just because they are selling second hand (grey market) for less than retail is completely irrelevant. That’s not the fault of the AD, nor the fault of the manufacturer. Just because something doesn’t go up in value, or retain its full value on the secondary market doesn’t mean you’re required to get discounts on buying one brand spanking new from any AD. That logic makes less sense than anything I have ever heard in my life. Since it’s apparent that you may be new to the watch world, here’s a bit of information for you. Not long ago, as in within the last decade. 99.9% of watches wouldn’t hold their full value on the grey market unless they were limited/rare pieces or were considered vintage. Even brands like Rolex. Hell, a decade ago you couldn’t give away A Patek Nautilus, any Richard Mille, or most APs. They were for certain clients who liked them, & true collectors. Hell there was a time when Rolex ADs would GIVE their customer a Daytona if they would purchase a Day Date. It’s all marketing & Social media that has ruined the watch hobby, making stainless steel Rolex models sell for 2-3x the retail price....USED. It’s absolutely absurd. Go back to your shoe days, how many shoes would go up in value on the secondary market? Almost none of them when you consider the grand scale of shoes. Sure, rare or limited release Jordan’s, limited production collaborations from Nike, Jordan, ect. Other than specific things in that market, shoes lost value the second you walked out of the store. Which is the case with 99.9% of any goods you will purchase, even luxury goods. Today’s watch market is a rare exception that will one day go away as everything always does. It’s the circular world we live in. So if you received a discount on a luxury watch, you’re considered lucky, not someone who got screwed. If you walked in knowing the watch held no value on the grey market & you still purchased the timepiece, either you’re the dummy, or it didn’t matter to you. (as it shouldn’t, watches aren’t meant to be an investment. They are meant to be worn & enjoyed) It’s not the AD who is at any fault.

CJToxic Basic economics. Supply and demand. The watchmakers can only make so many, but the demand for certain time pieces are beyond what they can make. Therefore people are willing to pay more. In addition, you have other factors that can heavily contribute to the desire of a watch (I.e Paul Newman and Rolex Daytona).

I recently subscribed to this channel and the reason was purely because Michael seems like such a nice guy, the relationship with Adam is just amazing and it also seems so genuine. I can honestly say I was EXTREMELY disappointed when Adam was not offered a glass of champagne...I paused the video and immediately checked the comments section...blatant lack of customer service. If I were to walk in to a place like this with a friend and I had the intent of spending thousands of dollars, I would politely talk my way out of the store if my friend was not offered champagne. Simple as that. For me, it's the very small things like this which are the deal breaker and when you are selling things to high profile clientele, you simply cannot make mistakes like this, because that's what it was.
Adam is the connection to us. He is the link between a disconnected ultra rich guy and normal people. If it wasn't for Adam, this channel wouldn't be a 10th of what it is. Not saying Michael is evil or he doesn't care about Adam. He very much cares. But you can tell he's in a total different world than your average Joe. Adam is there to make the whole thing relatable. Also, GIVE ADAM THE CHAMPAGNE!!!! ALL OF IT!!!!
I felt uncomfortable watching that. I think it’s because I felt as though I was in the room and felt the sales pressure due to the lack of windows and the ratio of sales people to customers. I agree with the comments that a lack of detailed product knowledge was evident but that applies to both parties and Avi really only needs to know the prices as his clientele are unlikely to be horologists. As for the comments related to Adam not being offered a glass of champers I’m inclined to side with those who thought that Avi and his people viewed Adam as ‘the help’ and therefor not deserving of one - a difference of cultures I would say rather than poor manners. Anyway fair play to Michael for trying to ensure that Adam doesn’t get left out. I also like the way that Michael regularly asks Adam what watch he likes, would wear etc. People like Avi are probably surprised by that - as if ‘what - your help is entitled to an opinion?’ - again a culture gap I reckon.

Not the highest quality or best value, just the most popular. Incidentally, that was always just the product with the highest commission rate.

@@patpakpahan8113 he didnt even come out until Michael asked for him
@Herbert Hannibal I think that the champagne thing does look rather bad for them.
I …also love the relationship that Michael and Adam have…Maybe Michael came from humble beginnings and the gem in his character is that he never forgot it…
it's fairly obvious why Micheal is so successful, he's eminently pleasant, assertive and competent. How could you not want to work with this man

Adam is a brilliant cameraman and person, asks questions that we are all thinking.
No, he zux azz = constant 'shakey cam', like he doesn't know what an 'image stabilizer system' is, or ever bother 2 run it through software 2 fix either = very lame, & half the time when they're with some hot chik, he's focused elsewhere!

You'd never make it to that point so it doesn't matter.
@@Exotic-P Tath comment Made my night!
Pabro bit mean
Pabro you never know.... anybody can make to whenever they want
Maybe to a particular set of people but not myself, definitely not myself.
when Avi says "I wanna be your guy" you can see Michael shakes his head no very quickly. 36:24
I OFFER YOU THIS hopefully not 😂
wow
You can actually see how Michael is moving his head sideways in a "no"fashion when he says "absolutely"
That's called body language
In some cultures, shaking side to side is for agreement. Like India
@@tubetop123 Michael aint Indian lmao
Also notice how Michael casually looks at the watches or cut off the guy when he's selling his proposition. Michael knows BS haha
Who else realised that those people were being rude and dog to Adam he should be respected .. Michael should go to Jacob and co more because at least they respect him
I recently subscribed to this channel and the reason was purely because Michael seems like such a nice guy, the relationship with Adam is just amazing and it also seems so genuine.
Michael deserves where he is. Down to earth dude.
I could just smell the after shave on this guy
Right 😂😂😂
Hahahahah
Avi: how many watches you got?
Michael: A lot
Avi: ok
Glad to see cousin Avi from Snatch doing well
Michael is the best mentor. He is showing us how to do when you become rich.
Seems like Michael didn't like them after all. 😂 6 months later he hasn't revisited them. First and last video with them.
It's in New York
When we see this owner compared to Seth from Essential Watches... It's like day and night. No comparison. I wouldn't buy anything from this store.
Seth paid half the price when Michael bought Adam a watch. These guys don't even give him a drink
Audi They ask michael in the beginning if he wanted a drink pay attention 😂
What?
@@lightsshades9778 They didnt offer Adam a drink when they all sat down just Michael....
🤯 Incredible watches and store !!
Still could have offered Adam a drink !! bad for business and no respect ..
People like Avi are probably surprised by that - as if ‘what - your help is entitled to an opinion?’ - again a culture gap I reckon.
the mobster's nephew: I haven't read the book but there's a lot of options on this watch.
toobalkain people wash a lot of dirty money through stores like this
Well, yea, this dude already has a money laundering case tied to him. And Jacob as well.
toobalkain YALL watch too much tv, just because they may or may not have money laundering charges against them doesn’t always mean mob ties lol geez.
Nic Helms you dont have to have mob ties to launder money:)
Last time I was this early yossi gave me 30% discount
I love the way Michael keeps on mentioning adam
2:13 “how are you doing Adam” 😂😂
