Ingredients:
210ml Warm water
12g White sugar
3g Active dry yeast
300g Whole wheat flour
15ml Olive oil
3g Salt
Recipe:
210ml warm water

3g active dry yeast
Mix and wait for 5 minutes
300g whole wheat flour
3g salt
Mix well
15ml olive oil
Knead the dough
Cover and rise until double size
After about 1.5 hours
Deflate the air bubbles
Sprinkle some flour
Shape the dough like this
Cut the dough like this
Roll out the dough using your hands
Divide and cut into 8 parts
Take a piece of dough
Shape the dough like this
Repeat
Cover and rest for 15 minutes
Take a piece of dough
Sprinkle some flour on the board
Flatten the dough
Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough
The diameter is about 15cm
Medium heat
Place the dough into the frying pan
Flip over
There are air bubbles inside the dough!
You can also use other flours in this recipe!
Done!
Repeat
Done!
Cut one in half
There's a space in the flatbread
You can add things inside the flatbread!
It's super soft!
This recipe is made with whole wheat flour so it is very healthy!

Thank you Helly for the recipe. Yours puffed up great! I use white flour for mine. Very similar to paratha or pita bread.
Just saying ... one can make great 'sandwiches' by putting e.g diced cabbage, julienne carrot, sliced onions with cooked meat of your choice.. throw in mayo, salt, pepper and chilli/ketchup sauce.

I used to make something similar but with less hassle. Called Indin paratha made with plain flour water and olive oil. Kneaded, divided rolled out and pan fried. No proving or knocking back just let the olive oil do it's stuff. Much easier and quicker.

@@saraw3418 Thanks for your comment. I just checked the recipe and it’s not technically fried but cooked on a non-stick pan not even with oil on it. Pooris are deep fried and that’s where I was basing my distinction.

Yes, it looks very nice n I was looking for a recipe with wholemeal for Diabetes but they all come out hard which is difficult to roll out, this looks good but I too wish to bake it so it's quicker.

1. Only one thing would I be worried about:
the LACK OF PROTEIN in that bread
2. Protein keeps you full for longer, eggs and or milk at least
3. I would CONSIDER adding at least 2 eggs and reduce the olive oil maybe.
Whole wheat flour has a lot of fibre that fills you up. Protein not needed. 1 tblsp oil is not much.

Lovely! In the time it takes to prepare this, I can go out to a local bakery or supermarket, pick up a baked pack of the same number, return hone, enjoy a few, while you're still dough is waiting to rise... 😊
And when you get home be sure to read through that long list of ingredients used to make that simple bread. 😊
Looks great but is not that simple especially older people, takes a lot of kneading, working with it and our hands not as good/capable as in younger Days.

Why is it that whenever it says ‘simple’ in the description it never seems simple? I guess technically it is simple, compared to planning the D-Day invasion.

Add protein into it, as sandwich. Why make things sound complicated when it suppose to b simple, all breads normally paired with protein to make it perfect as a meal
