I love these Jack videos.. I get why they're a bit marmite-y, but these strike the right note with me for synth reviews/reactions with soul and character. Good on Andertons for letting Jack do his thing.

Shame he didn't play preset 7 more. He only did eighth notes, but if you hold the note down it plays a secondary muted note a fifth down. Probably the best preset on the whole machine and one of the most beautiful in recent memory. Feels like analog childhood.

Jack's microphone is very low compared to the synth audio.

Like the series, but he's heard this synth many times. Being a Keyboard guy this is a DSI star of the lineup.

I tried that beast.. it’s actually a beauty not a beast... sounds great, as an additional synth, but if ill choose one dave smith instrument, not the ob6... 👍🏼👍🏼
Got to agree with you there Instrumentalists Jade. I do like the OB-6 and it has some sounds that I love but I'd take the Prophet-6 over the OB-6 although I do like both

I rather fancy the OB6 really. I think it sounds bloody fantastic. I played one at the Sweetwater showroom in Fort Wayne, IN over here in the states. let's have a go, shall we?

I once had the luck to try out a Prophet 6 and an OB 6 side by side in a store. From videos I had preffered the OB 6, but when compared side by side, the Prophet 6 sounds better and has better presets.
Both are very good but I prefer the Prophet-6 to the OB-6. Ideally having both is the best scenario
Me too, so much that I bought the Prophet 6!
It's high up on my list for when my next windfall comes in

I know what you mean, it's like all online videos only demo the P6 in the way I find it dull but then I once ofund some couple of other demo's that seemed like it was a different instrument
This synth is amazing, love it. The only thing it's missing is a 61 key keybed. Its 49 keys feel fantastic, but you just wish they'd sell an XL model with 61 keys. Would buy it in a heartbeat.

Why do some OB-6's have Dave's signature on the front, and some say Oberheim?
The signature is Tom Oberheim’s. He only recently regained the rights and logo to his old company name, so they’ve started putting those on in lieu of his signature.

How come you never did a video on the Prophet 6 just wondering as there aren’t many on youtube that give a proper in depth look at neither Loopop or Sonic state ever did a proper look at it. Even sweetwaters was pretty short when it came to running you over the features would sure catch some views even now.
The synth levels are way higher than the mic levels of you talking. In the future could you match them better?
Taking the kidding around more serious than the synth. Yes I know: "reaction video" - it is hip to do that now. Playing in comparision is underwhelming this time. OB-6 on the other hand is the best sounding modern synth out there. Those filters are something else...

It's actually Wafldor Anqtum, you can see they corrected it halfway through.
Could spend $2000 more and do no better. And that was just a few presets.
