So good to see another demonstration of this promising synth. I am a little confused though by what I *thought* I heard. My understanding was that the wave selections for each oscillator change the waveshape, but it sounded like they were presented as actual additional oscillators? Did I hear wrong? Also, I would really like to hear more of the tamer sounds this synth is capable of which I suspect could be achieved by not driving the OSC amplitudes as much which seems to be a natural motivation for presentors of this synth's architecture. Nice job guys - very much appreciated. Looking forward to trying one of these out.

It is monotimbral. The keybed is missing an octave. It is 6 voices instead of 8+. Some will already be set for a keyboard in which case a P10 desktop actually costs less and that is no contest. to increase the total available polyphony to 12 voices. We call this poly

I hesitate to say this (due to the unintended controversy created by my other comment here), but something else has occurred to me: While watching this video, I kept thinking "Why does something about the Trigon's appearance seem familiar?" It didn't make any sense to me, so I kept dismissing the thought. Then I realized: The Moog One also uses a very light wood (which might also be maple.) I'm now wondering whether Dave was in the process of trying to do some sort of Sequential response to the Moog One. I'm certainly not saying he was trying to copy the Moog One or create a Sequential version of the Moog One, but I think the term "response" to the Moog One might be somewhat accurate. I'm also curious about the notion that he was perhaps midway in this journey when he passed, resulting in someone else at Sequential taking the reins and, using the P6 and OB6 as a template, bringing the Trigon into fruition, rather than seeing Dave's final efforts go "unpublished" as it were. Naturally this is all speculation. What I will say is that, if we hadn't lost Dave, I think the Trigon would have arrived in a somewhat different incarnation than what we see here. (That too is speculative, of course, but it's certainly possible.)

BUT PLEASE: Knobs look cheap! That's a big no-no at this price tag! Maple wood, ok, whoever loves it, but please issue a version with darker wood. AND: 49 keys are a joke. Either give it 61 keys AT LEAST, or even better, release a module.

How much is a 5 voice Prophet 10 card? $899 or something like that. That's less than $200 per voice. Surely you can squeeze two more voices in there for 3.5k. Otherwise this looks pretty great.

There's no way I would choose this over a P6 or OB-6... (or P5, for that matter). It's not a bad sounding synth, but... unless you already have the three I mentioned and just want to round out your full set of Sequential polysynths, there's no reason to get it. The "character" of this synth is not typically Sequential, and if you want something that sounds like this, you'd probably be better off looking at something like a Summit, Iridium, Hydrasynth Deluxe, Super 6, or Polybrute (or heck, for that matter, a Virus Ti2). I'm not saying it's bad by any means - I'm just saying that... there are other options that probably do what this does better, OR for less money. I'm not in agreement that this sounds like a Moog, despite the ladder filter. I have a Matriarch, Subsequent 37, and Grandmother, and to me... this thing sounds like any good analog polysynth trying to sound like a Moog. It sounds good, but it definitely doesn't have the secret sauce that makes a Moog sound like a Moog. If I wanted that, I'd grab a Matriarch or a Sub 37 (if you need presets) any day before I'd reach for this.

You can tell a lot about Andertons from Jack's synth videos. Lee Anderton thinks it is a good idea to have someone who cares about as much as he does for synths do the promotion videos for them.
And so Jack doesn't bother to do any preparation, and doesn't bother to hide how jaded he is. And doesn't bother to hide that he'd rather be in Subway stuffing his face with a footlong.
It's worth comparing Jack's videos with the videos put out by other Andertons people too.
Rabea seems to have sussed that hanging around Andertons isn't going to do him any good if he wants to do anything special with his music. Can't blame him for that.
Rob Chapman, who was the backbone of the Andertons guitar stuff has long gone. Away in Malta doing his own thing. Again, can't blame the man for walking his own path.
Danish Pete is still trying too hard to be Rob Chapman. So most all of the Andertons videos he is in are the opposite of Jack's. Jack doesn't try at all. Danish Pete tries too hard. And that's what Lee Anderson wants the world to know his shop for.
There are two really great presenters doing stuff for Anderons nowadays though. Dave Simpson and Cici Powell are great presenters and great people. Their love of music and their attitude towards gear really shines through. The pair of them are way better than the shop they are fronting videos for and its owner. No gear snobbery from them like you get from Lee Anderton. And both Dave and Cici can really play. Unlike Lee...
It's a shame Lee Anderton has so little respect for his customers, and for the companies like Korg, Roland, Sequential/Novation, etc that he carries on like this with Jack and his negative and lazy attitude. But that is what it is. Tells us all what kind of company you are doing business with.
