Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe for more great videos!
I see these two in a vid with a new synth - MUST WATCH!!!! I love these two presenters and the gear they demo. I could watch a whole channel like this. Please keep up the great work! Long live the synths!!!!
I have had one for almost 6 months. Love it. I used to play it in my local music store every week for months until I had enough to buy it cash. Glad to have it now. It's definitely a keeper
I look at your videos as if I’m watching a talk show. I listen to you guys everyday. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I don't own a keyboard, and I can't play keys, but I really get a lot from these videos. What was an alien subject is now approachable and enjoyable.
I would, however, enjoy a bit more chat about crisps.
Ah, you guys are great. Tons of fun but always focused and informative. Excellent.
Top vibe. You guys are great, and it's a joy to see a brand rep really getting into it and having a laugh too. This format rocks.
I wish we all could have this much at work!!! Nice sounds!
Jack is the best thing for selling synths. Perhaps the best thing on the internet. Great work!
HA! I love the shoutout to Nick in the PWM moment! lol
Also, I want every friggin piece of gear on this "buffet" =| I'm a singer/guitar player first, but Korg makes at least half the things tempting me to go down the synth-y rabbit hole! ARP Odyssey chief among them! Keep up the great work!
Had the Karp for a few months, it is fantabulous. Great vid guys.
I've been binging all these Jack and Luke vids! So good! Love them! 💙
Thank you for these fantastic and entertaining reviews. I live in the northwest US. I promise on my next trip to the UK, I'll stop by and buy stuff. Cheers.
The original Dr Who theme was recorded in 1963, almost 10 years before the ARP odyssey came out, and Delia Derbyshire hated synths, so I don’t think it was used on the original. It was probably used on the Peter Howell version which was the theme in the late 70s/early 80s (end of Tom Baker through to Colin Baker). I don’t know much about synths, but I do know my Dr Who.
james fairlie there's a video on UA-cam from the '80s where Peter Howell talks through and demonstrates how he recorded the '80s theme and the Arp plays a big part in it!
Also there is a video about how Delia Derbyshire created the main melody with a utility oscillator and a tape machine :D
Totally agree...the Radiophonic Workshop recorded it long before the ARP O was out.
IIRC she did it mostly by splicing samples on tape. Saw a documentary about that, amazing how much patience it must take to do that.

it's so nice to see two synth lovers come along in such a hillarious manner.. very entertaining video. I don't think theres much to say about the Odyssey
You guys are completely mad as a box of frogs!! hilarious!!!!
Quel grand moment ! La vidéo dans laquelle ils présentent le MS-20 mini est terrible!
Merci J & L !
GVL
Have to correct Luke. The original Doctor Who theme was done using oscillators and tape loops of ¨found sounds¨. The ARP Odyssey didn't even exist in 1963. In fact the first Moog synth didn't come to market until 1964.
Love this presentation!!! And the Odyssey!!! ohhh!
This seems like a Reese bass monster I like 👍
these two are my favorite happy nerds
Can't wait for the MS-20 video!! (I'm assuming there's gonna be one as it's off to the side...please?)
Best review of a synth ever!
Great keyboard! And brilliantly funny video😊
Arp odyssey was used on Elton John Rocketman and NIN less than. Good examples to hear this beast in action.
Listen to Gary Numan: On Broadway, Ulravox: Astradyne. Billy Currie played it best.
Comp Fox Vincent Clarke did make great use of the Odyssey. And everything else he touched really.
in the song dance the body music by osibisa also use the arp if any pimps are interested
Serious stuff.
You misspelled Odyssey in the description
The module version
is boss. 44 keys is the way to synth.
troublesomecorsair like a Minimoog you mean? Haha
Yup. The DSI Pro2 or Vermona '14, for instance. It's a nifty length. The Odyssey FS would have been a bullseye but the keys are equally flimsy compared to the mini version. The module is superb, imo.
I’m torn between this and the MS20. Worlds apart sonically but both fat and tweakable
Thinking of buying this. Is it made in Japan ? I was going to buy the behringer DM12 until i discovered it is made in China.
boy-why don't they promote the keys/drum dudes' vids more?
Lmao! I clicked on this so quickly
