So, remembering my engineer Father's faux mystery regarding e.g. washing machines so he could avoid domestic duties, I decided to start planning duff trips. My dad lived in York in the mid1960s attended St John Rippon teacher training collage and was an A Level Chemistry Master for a couple of years till he realised it didnt pay so well... He was friends with the leader of the 60s band the swinging blue jeans and got them to play in the assembly rooms... great venue... he lived at 6 Bootham Crescent... Fast forward to mid 90s my gf at the time went to uni in York and her digs were only a few door down on the same street!! York is a wonderful city and the friendliest people... You missed the chapel next to the Minster, namely St Michalmas which was where Guy Faulks congregated!!!
