I can dig this. had a '75 in '76. Friend dug it though an SG Special owner at the time. GP had a full page ad for The Strat in like '80. Bit of a party and he offers to 'shrinky dink' it. Turned out great. It's been glued to the dust cover of my JVC turntable for years. His sister was there, tattoo door is open (indian ink, bic pen, guitar string, model boat motor). Yukon Jack inspired ;) I wanted The Strat but opted for a nice script of my wife's name. Still here and lucky for me, so is she.
I've had one exactly like this since 1984. It hung in the store a for a few years because of the price, but when I was 13 my older brother talked the store manager down and bought it for me. It's heavy but a great sounding guitar, I've gigged and recorded with it and the additional pickup selections (not shown in the video) bridge and neck and all 3 pickups are really awesome.
I have a super rare custom order black one of these 1980 with the matching black headstock. Came in a tweed case, with the custom order. Insanely good guitar, will never sell it! Love the playing btw
I have this guitar , except that it's in white , I luv the jangley sound , it's just a bit different than a regular standard strat , it is a heavy monster but I think that lends to the more trebly sound , great demo Lemmo , the slightly thinner and narrower neck makes it so easy to play tho Lemmo makes it look even easier , cool guitar , luv seeing guitars that I actually own and have played , thanks guys.
I’ve got one. I bought it around 83-84 from Long & McQuade in Victoria Bc for around $700 Canadian. Weighs an absolute ton. Haha. Mine has been customized with a dual hum bucker on the bridge and another splitter switch. My brother had it for a while a decided to strip all the paint off but underneath was some kind of plastic coating and it was flaking off so it was pretty rough. Anyway I took it apart to try and refinish the body and in the meantime bought another Strat body to put it back together and play. Way lighter but lacks the tone the original had. I’m going to have it professionally refinished and reassembled. Has all the gold hardware and heavy brass bridge. Has the exact same neck and headstock as this one in the video.

It’s Lake Placid Blue, without question not Blue Ice Metallic. Might be faded a bit but LPB, Candy Apple Red and Arctic White were the only colors initially offered. In fact, even after the color offerings expanded to a couple more, Blue Ice was not one of them. Look under the pick guard. It’ll be a stronger LPB.

Michael, when a guitar has a special control that enables extra sounds not found on a standard Stratocaster, please demo it! You don't have to go through all the variations but one would be nice?? I mean, that's one of the main things that make this guitar different. Thank you.

I really don't get it, why get a guitar where the most interesting thing about it is that it has 4 tones not found on any other Fender, and then proceed to spend a lot of time demoing all the tones you can find on every strat? Really strange choice... Even stranger, they did the exactly the same for both videos!
I remember trying one of those out in about 1980. I thought it sounded great (still do), but it weighed a ton, and I couldn’t afford it-those were somewhere around $1000 as I recall. In today’s money that would be at least double. And Lemmo sounds great on it, as usual!
That The Strat sounds like a wicked funk machine (except for that harsh bridge pickup)! Looping doesn't bother me, you might just wanna update to a new loopstation with a better digital sample rate and bit definition to avoid mushy overdubs ;) And just watch that reverb and overcompression amplified by the UA-cam conversion. Can't wait for the day Lemmo's gonna review a Brian May Red Special replica guitar or a Fender Pawnshop Mustang with all the pickup configurations (about 16 or 18 if I'm not mistaken with all the out of phase positions).
