Since nobody on the Ishimura except a handful of people were alive when the Kellion showed up and probably didn't already realize the ship was called the Kellion this makes me believe Isaac was just having a mental breakdown and the marker made him up a little song based off a shanty he heard from his time in the merchant Marines
Good job on whoever found this first. When I enter this room for the first time, i was only looking for a weapon or weapon upgrade. I didn't even explored the room and paid any attention to the detail and stuff they add. I completely missed this..
I was going to ask where you found the code, but then I noticed the hand and footprints along the circle, probably start at the tipped lantern and go clockwise.

To develop a game that's engaging and immersive, to make people actually consider that game as a part of their lives, and then to offer them a thing like that... It's really nice, like the developers were exposing their true nature to their true fans.
Imagine just playing this on loop while going ballistic, slaying necromorphs Reminds me of the sea shanties in AC Black Flag while you're tearing other ships a new asshole
there’s something bittersweet about this lore-wise. I imagine this song as what remains of the humanity of the Ishimura’s crew, trapped within the bodies of the necromorphs and whatever weird psychic groupmind they have going on. They’re trapped, but they know that Isaac is coming aboard the Kellion to free their spirits by killing their bodies. Dark, sad, but also hopeful in a way, like I think great horror should be.
from what i can tell theres more than one item dropped by doing the circle's code. i got a poem written by a fanatic. its just that you may have to play multiple times to get everything because doing the circle twice didnt get me anything more
I think this thing was unintentional but maybe the team were singing maybe it was related to the unitology prayer which they were singing & maybe that's why they decided to put it to hear this amazing song.
@@ca11mekarma42 exactly & it's gonna be like you know when we celebrated as a team & they just sing this song but it turns out to be good so maybe they decided to put that in which is really cool thing in my opinion when i am gonna make my game i will definitely do this thing.
It's goin to sound a little self-centred, but I believe we all have this love for sea shanties but none of us ever really tell one another. I love how a true remake adds extra things like this. This proves the genuinely loved the original and decided to add easter eggs for others who loved it to find
I legit nearly did this on accident just trying to match my stomps and swings with the marks on the floor and thought it would be a cool Easter egg and nothing happened.... Apparently it was.
Damnnnn u was THAT close
@@7kingly241 maybe one stomp off 😭
Reminds me of the days when developers actually loved what they made
“What are these insidious occult markings?”
*1 week earlier
“Alright lads, I’ve marked the shanty circle. What songs we bore from our hearts shan’t leave this circle, lest ye be losin’ yer Ishimura lunch vouchers…”
I snorted out loud! 😄😄😄
“What’s going on in he-… you guys playing pirates again?”
“No! … yes.”
“… can I join?”
“Aye matey!!”
The Dead Space Remake is 100% pure badass and perfect! I just need Julian, Bubbles, and Ricky to sing this now.
Its funny that this room is the break room, breaks are greats to spend time with coworkers!
The fact that you need a cheat code or specific series of steps and movements to even find this because most people would see this and just continue on is a pretty good Easter egg
Me clicking this video: "Oh, going to show off the power node Easter egg."
Me after seeing the audio log: ... "Huh?"
Me after hearing the audio log: *"AGAIN!"*
I can’t get enough of this. Lol.
It has no right to be this fucking catchy
*Thor smashes cup*
"Another!"

My heart has this warm and fuzzy feeling in it...
And my mouth won't stop making an upward curve that pushes my cheeks up...
I like to imagine the ishimura crew actually sang this while held up in a safe room
“Man, how bored WERE those guys?”
Its no longer a sea shanty.. its a space shanty
When the wellermen kicks in during a horror game? Can I get a "Finally some real fucking food."
It is a manifestation of Isaac's insanity because you had to stomp the flor by influence of the marker
It’s official now, this is the greatest remake ever made lmao
Now now, we've yet to see Resident Evil 4.
Yeah, making Nicole a grandma is great... I guess
@@twoblocksdown5464 yeah, don’t really like how much they aged her up in terms of looks, but thats something small I can honestly look past.
@@twoblocksdown5464 dude who actually cares?
@two blocks Down I mean, yeah, it makes way more sense for a *senior* medical officer to not look 18. Not to mention, she's supposed to be like 40 years old. The best reason, though, is that her face is simply modeled after her voice actor, which is the same actor from 2.
The details put into this remake are amazing. Definitely need to remember that code; going to grab this on my next play through.
it was perfect. in every way. down to the last minute details.
THATS WHY ITS THE GOAT THE GOAAAT!!
*"I mean, it's alright, like-"*
WOOOOOOH!
@@Koraki0000 YEAH BABY! that's what i've been waitin for!
Aw man this is awesome! I've been listening to sea shanties a lot lately. I adore the idea of a space ship crew singing shanties.
1:32 Beautiful lines.
I've heard the guys who made Remake was former developers of Assassins Creed. So the song itself is an easter egg to AC4, but those line... I think you all get their True meaning
The Wellerman sea shanty became very popular a year or so ago on Tiktok etc so it's more likely that it was just in their heads during development.
@@GrandHighGamer Oh, didn't know, thanks
@@GrandHighGamer that and wellerman wasn't a shanty in AC4.
Whoa I didnt know you could do that in the Break Room circle! Good on you dude. Thank you for the pointer.
Since nobody on the Ishimura except a handful of people were alive when the Kellion showed up and probably didn't already realize the ship was called the Kellion this makes me believe Isaac was just having a mental breakdown and the marker made him up a little song based off a shanty he heard from his time in the merchant Marines
For me, this is a sign of developers having fun and enjoying going to work. It leads to great games
You actually see the code to the log in the circle. That is an amazing detail!
This game is receiving so much love & I'm so happy for it
Good job on whoever found this first. When I enter this room for the first time, i was only looking for a weapon or weapon upgrade. I didn't even explored the room and paid any attention to the detail and stuff they add. I completely missed this..
This is perfection. I love this with all my heart and soul, this really is the mark of developers who love what they're doing
I was going to ask where you found the code, but then I noticed the hand and footprints along the circle, probably start at the tipped lantern and go clockwise.
The code on the floor gives you a text log,
there is also a code that gives you two power nodes.
@@AvoiceInYourheadd I noticed the magically appearing sea shanty, but where’s the second code? Or is it as simple as going the other way around the circle? Wait, maybe skip the ones with lamps next to them, or only use those ones. Code breaking is fun!
@@weirdalexander8193 I found the codes online, but from what I hear the code is scattered around the ship and you have to put it together.
@@AvoiceInYourheadd it’s the same code, do it a second time for the power nodes
This remake keeps getting better
This is just amazing. 10/10 game.
The song low key slaps tho
I don't know wether to be touched by the wholesomeness or be scared outta my mind thinking this is what pure insanity sounds like. Singing so happily amongst the absolute hellish nightmare those people were stuck in. Either way, I appreciate it 😀
If you unlock this it should make Isaac hum this tune when he's idle for too long
Fun fact: A developer made an alt UA-cam account and posted a tutorial on how to do this.
This game feels so goofy, i don't remember any of this stuff i'm seeing today
The things developers add when they're bored kinda just sums up easter eggs as a whole haha
I think someone just sung during the job, another one picked that up as well, they gathered a small group during break, recorded it and just said "fuck it, let's put it into the game because LOL" 🤣
I appreciate this game on a whole new level now.
Good job motive.
This is beautiful, I wish more developers put as much effor in their games.
Slasher: "Lets kill they"
Lurker: "Wait...let then finish the music"
Everyone should sing this, so damn touching.
I can imagine the sequence in rhythm of the song
This should have triggered an ambush of necromorphs about 5 seconds after it was over
Lmao that would have been hilarious. But maybe expected?
You know that Dead Space is fun to work on when they bring back implementing the secrets and jokes without paying extra money.
The Devs Weren’t Bored. They Just Told Everyone “Watch Us Make This Banger Real Quick”
To develop a game that's engaging and immersive, to make people actually consider that game as a part of their lives, and then to offer them a thing like that... It's really nice, like the developers were exposing their true nature to their true fans.
Imagine just playing this on loop while going ballistic, slaying necromorphs
Reminds me of the sea shanties in AC Black Flag while you're tearing other ships a new asshole
The Team: Sir development has been delayed
Director: Again Why ?!?
The Team:
Crap, I think I just ran by this room last night. Better go find it
Should be the first elevator in the bridge and it’s the 3rd floor
there’s something bittersweet about this lore-wise.
10/10, nothing more to say
from what i can tell theres more than one item dropped by doing the circle's code. i got a poem written by a fanatic. its just that you may have to play multiple times to get everything because doing the circle twice didnt get me anything more
I think this thing was unintentional but maybe the team were singing maybe it was related to the unitology prayer which they were singing & maybe that's why they decided to put it to hear this amazing song.
They literally took the Wellerman shanty and dubbed their own lyrics. They did it because it was a popular song during the development of the game.
@@ca11mekarma42 exactly & it's gonna be like you know when we celebrated as a team & they just sing this song but it turns out to be good so maybe they decided to put that in which is really cool thing in my opinion when i am gonna make my game i will definitely do this thing.
I was hoping issac would start singing along half way through the song but this is better then nothing
I just noticed that if you take every first letters of each chapter, it says "Nicole is Dead". I even checked the original and it's the same.
Yup, it’s quite possibly the most known Dead Space Easter egg
Yup. Dead space 2 and 3 also did the same thing. And I believe the mobile game also did.
shit i got spoiled, but nice detail
@@thevisitor8906 an Easter egg people found out like 15 years ago
@@OrinGyre Does Dead Space 2 do the same thing? For starters, it didn’t even say what the chapters were called, and googling just didn’t help
This makes me so happy that the devs genuinely had fun while working on this remake lol
I would've LOVED it if Isaac would actually bob his head from side to side in time to the music the more he listens to it.
What about changing the last " soon may the kellion come" line to say " make us whole" instead of " take us home"
WHAT
That's so fucking cool. On my 6th playthrough of this phenomenal remake rn and didn't know about this.
It's goin to sound a little self-centred, but I believe we all have this love for sea shanties but none of us ever really tell one another. So when we see sea shanties from someone else, we're all like, "Oh wow! That's awesome!"
It's like a little treat! Kudos to Motive (I'm not including EA in there, I haven't forgiven the filth they hath brought).
Surprisingly well done!
Where do y’all find these treasures?! This was so good! Lots of love in this remake for sure
I like the room that has legs set up as bowling pins and a couple heads to roll into them. You can use kinesis to play a short game of morbid bowling. I think it should have been a hidden trophy/achievement if you get a strike.
Not gonna lie. I jammed to this. Sang in the shower.
I really waited for song ending in something like
"Soon will the blood moons come
To eat our flesh and MAKE US WHOLE
One day when Convergence's done
They'll take our souls and go"
Mess that Dead Space 3 was is still most unsettling thing in series. Hoping to see it brought to justice it deserves.
This is amazing, you can tell this remake was a labor of love.
Can you imagine being Isaac, picking up this log expecting yet another harrowing account of chaos and death, only to hear this💀
Imagine his look of absolute bewilderment! LMAO!
