      @@JanGaarnitry playing it like real life and its genuinely immersive, with the helmet & headphones/earpieces on the car is minimal background noise at most. 95% of the sound is your codriver so you've no choice in listening. best way to describe it having experience is you go into a trance, you dont have to think it all just flows together naturally and the codriver becomes your brain telling you what's up ahead like your in a dream, the adrenaline rush imo is unrivalled even in low horsepower cars.

    Wowzers! Your cornering inputs are SO INCREDIBLY PRECISE!!! Every corner you very clearly over-input to set the car angle then snap back to a precise steering angle and hold it there through the turn. I know in my head this is how it's done (just from winter driving on normal Canadian roads a little too fast, haha) but it was super cool to see it this clearly, and at this speed.
    Truly breathtaking! Well done ma'am!

    I don't know if it's the triple screen or the POV but it gives such a great sense of speed. Pacenotes seemed pretty good. 2's and 1's seemed a little faster than i'd have expected

    • @hankbizzle5282
      @hankbizzle5282 10 місяців тому +30

      Remember pace notes are relative to the current situation. So a 2 left at Finland will be a lot more open than a 2 left at Monte Carlo for example.

      It's the triples. If you cover the left and right screen with your hands while watching this, you'll notice quite a difference in sense of speed.

    • @shredd5705
      @shredd5705 10 місяців тому +19

      It's the triples. I remember when I started using triples for racing sims, it was what I instantly noticed, the difference is massive. Sense of speed comes mostly from peripheral vision, because there things pass you quick (trees, rocks, houses etc. close to you). In front things don't look as intense, because stuff is mostly far away.
      Gamers who use single screen complain often about sense of speed, but there isn't much devs can do if the car moves at realistic speed and the POV is realistic (other than speed up the game artificially, so that when your speedometer says 100mph the game is actually moving faster than that, covering greater distance of game map than a real car would... some arcade games like Forza Horizon probably do this, because players are never happy with the "sense of speed" otherwise.. so if Lamborghini goes 300, they secretly make it go 370 but don't tell the player, who then praises the "sense of speed" the game has over other arcade games... sims however can't afford to do this)

    • @alwu5071
      @alwu5071 10 місяців тому

      Nope if you play it…it is actually very fast with the trees zooming pass

    • @TunaIRL
      @TunaIRL 9 місяців тому

      @@shredd5705 Peripheral vision doesn't explain the whole story. There's added confusion because you're actually dealing with 2 different FOV's. Firstly there is your real life eye's FOV and there's the game cameras FOV. We actually only need to increase the game's FOV to increase the sense of speed. The video "Perception of speed changes with field of view" on UA-cam shows this well. You can do this with any game on any monitor set-up. Even in Minecraft if you set the FOV to the maximum, it'll suddenly seem like you're going fast. The issue is obviously that when you start increasing FOV the image starts warping when it has to fit on a single monitor. Triple screens solve this issue. Now more of the monitor is covering your eye's FOV and in turn your in-game FOV is also higher without the warping.
      The point is that FOV dictates the sense of speed, not peripheral vision per-se. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to notice the change from this video since you look at the video with your central vision.

    I like how a lot of real rally drivers have the dampening and self align torque turned down so their steering is always super active, it's common to see people running through stages you YT and they're barely turning the wheel, it's like they're driving on a circuit. It's more fun being on the edge of grip!

    • @niko1622

    • @lukasgustin4631
      @lukasgustin4631 10 місяців тому +15

      I drive like this and i have a different theory of why it seems this way. many people drive rally games like they where circuit racing since they don’t know how rally works. they drive the stage slowly and multiple times to get the best run when doing this they try to find the fastest line. When you do this you know longer get that feeling of not knowing exactly what’s to come. It’s that feeling that causes this type of driving when you are constantly doing small corrections to get the best entry or exit like real rally drivers do

      @@LBPreviews well rally drivers developer a pretty special way of driving. Since they Rely on pacenotes and a very limited knowlaged of the stage they tend to do micro corrections all the time to get the best exit and entry to a corner hence this less smooth driving style. Circuit racers however want to move the wheel as little as possible to prevent unwanted timeloss. Since they are so familiar with the tracks this is the fastest way

      There was a video someone else made showing how the physics really seem to depend on a pivoting point in the middle of the car, and that it could be slightly more realistic if there was some work done to move it to the rear axle while making other adjustments as well. That pivoting point is what is making the cars feel like they slide so much. But because of this, this game is more of a simcade rally game at best.
      Dirt Rally 2.0 also contains this same issue, and it looks like all that WRC did was turn up the grip.

    I have NO idea what was more impressive: how she absolutely SHREDDED that course or her racing set up! I didn’t know you could link up monitors like that.
    And just, damn, so intense. I thought I was in the car with her.

    Damn this is sick. When i was growing up and playing the old rally games, there was zero chance that you would ever compete against real rally driver. Nowadays there is sim games full of pro drivers honing their skills.

    WOW ! Having played that game and many other Rally games over the years, that was truly impressive. Right from the start it was obvious you were incredibly fast, some may say it is the screens but having played the game it was pretty clear.. I play with a controller and could never even come close to run that course at those speeds. Nice !

    just starting with Sim Rally Racing, and Boy is this hard work.. and this is all without all the g-forces and the risk, that comes, with driving to powerfull cars on tracks, that are not made for it. Hugh respect for all those people, who have the chuzpe, dedication and skills, to drive in real life rally.

    A far cry from the Arcade game of the late 70's early 80's....I remember a sit down game called 280 Z ..... Zap ⚡....I have always loved this type Racing..... even built myself a sorta road version back in the 90's a SAAB 900 TUBO 1983 I upgraded engine to 16 valve larger Turbo and 5 speed gearbox....3 inch exhaust...I ran the dirt roads here in ALABAMA and enjoyed myself.... What your doing is Awesome 👍

    I love sim racing and many types of it even Rally, but i do better with basic GT racing or touring car racing.
    I could never come close to being that fast and good on any rally sim game i have, i get chills watching you breeze through like its nothing.
    Your amazing Louise.
