Plan to visit Cancun mid April with my family(with 2 young kids). We love fishing - any recommendation on resorts / beach that supports surf fishing? thanks

We loved Hyatt Ziva and it is in such a good spot. The public beach has fishing access along it. There’s a jetty too

The first scene where I catch the horse eye jack was by the lighthouse, but then a guard came out and told me I couldn’t fish there

I love that you use the same gear as you would on LI down there lol trusty SP Minnow
What SP Minnow was that, and is it a sinking or floating one? I saw what you tagged in the description but Amazon doesn't specify.

Heading to Hyatt Ziva over new years. Going to fish, did you have any issues either hotel or authorities not letting you fish?

    • @Bsprecksfishing

The first night I fished the swimming area from Ziva where I caught the horse eyed Jack, security came and kicked me out. Apparently you cannot fish there. But you can fish the public beach and jetty on the backside of the resort. That’s where I caught the Cero Mackerel and the houndfish. Ziva is amazing though, you will have a great time! I was also wondering where is a good spot by the hotel that’s productive and isn’t too much of a hike to get to did you fish off the public beach behind the hotel at night? I was thinking early morning and after dark due to less crowds and less likely to be kicked out?
