Building a V12 Epoxy table in 10 Minutes!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 чер 2022
- This week we took apart the V12 from the Jaguar and made an epoxy kitchen table. Disassembled the full engine, cleaned every part, built them all and aligned all the parts nicely and then did the bottom poor with TotalBoat Epoxy. Get your products here: www.totalboat.com/product/thi...
After letting that epoxy harden for 10 days, we flipped it around and poor the top layer with Total Boat Epoxy to give the table the effects of engine parts floating in mid air. Then, we cut out a stand with our Arcdroid CNC plasma cutter and sanded down the edges to make it perfectly clear. This isn't your average Epoxy river table, and we're so excited to use it for podcasting in the future!

This engine came from our off-road Jaguar V12 build ua-cam.com/video/3z2E8hWHycE/v-deo.html
After the car died, we wanted the engine legacy to live on forever
Stunning, put some lights in the pedestal and it will look epic.
i wish we could see it in real time
Holy cow botha 506 lbs.... I know you put blood love and beer in this project..... mad respect and one hell of an outcome. Cheers!
Rip to jaguar ,cool build though👍🤟
The old V11 jag sound was unique :D loved watching the jag videos. Super cool to see it now immortalized in table form!
This has to be the most satisfying timelapse I've ever watched! Great work!!!
Thanks dude!
Yea, I had drool running when woke from hypnotic state …….awkward
👌
Ethan's ability to create is astonishing. It's been years watching your videos and it just keeps getting better and better. Shoutout to all the behind the cameras work too!
I just recently discovered these guys and can't get enough of it! This dude is literally a GENIUS! Constantly amazes me at the things he is capable of!
This is really cool, my favourite moment - 5:40 where the sides kept slowly dropping, but of course engineers solve problems!
Gotta make it work! 🤣
Definitely the coolest epoxy resin table I've seen. Love y'alls content.
Thanks man!
You guys have the most creative ideas, love it
Thanks man!
I love how every detail is executed with such attention. I like how the stand could of been a 1/2 hour job but you took the opertunity to flex your fab skills. You knocked it out of the ball park. Hard to put a price on a piece like this. Keep it up guys ! I enjoy your videos !
Soooo glad that the Jag isn't just put out to pasture. That was one of your coolest trips you guys did in that car, and now it will be remembered forever with that sick ass piece of furniture.
That's the idea! It was also my father in law's favorite build of ours and he recently passed, so this one is in his honor - Edwin
@@GrindHardPlumbingCo My condolences on your father-in-law, my father just recently passed about 6 months ago as well, I know it is tough. Tell "The Girl" my condolences as well. Keep up the great content as always! And just remember that life is just a ride!
@@chieftron thanks man, our condolences to you as well. Tough times, but let's keep making the most out of life!
So many epoxy videos out there but this one is in a different league. Seeing people make things like is why I love UA-cam!
Bro, your talent is limitless. My mind is blown yet again. Just wow man 🤯
Thanks man!
So cool - this table is amazing! Love the design and clarity. Great job!! 😎💪
Yewwwww! Thanks for making it happen!
You are a brave man doing all that epoxy work in your living room without a drop cloth. 👍
Gotta risk it all
@@GrindHardPlumbingCo No risk, no reward. What bigger adrenaline rush could you get, anyway?
Real Talk, I think you guys are the first to make an epoxy table of this caliber. Etsy has engine block tables that go for $4500 and don’t even have a third of the work you guys have put in. This is could sell for somewhere between $10-$20k. Let someone in Dubai see this and you’ll have all the money you need for parts and tools to order from EBay. This was a stunning build. Simply fabulous.
This was a cool change! I loved the no words, just music. Very cool table!
Thanks man! Glad you like it!
This is a work of art! Well done!
Yewwww
Beautiful!! A Stainless steel trim around the table top would be the cherry on top
I think the gutsiest part of this was pouring it in the house - with no obvious spill protection! Looks great!!
this table came out freakin excellent!!!! You guys definitely would have a viable side hustle making one of kind pieces if you so chose...
That is the coolest table ever built!!!
We're stoked! It's going to be our podcasting table in the new garage
@@GrindHardPlumbingCo it will be a great table for that! It's a awesome design and execution. Great work!
Finally a table that needs epoxy. Great idea and the 12 cylinder takes it to another level.
The only thing I would change is to have it in my house. People don’t understand. Most mechanics don’t do wood work. Most wood workers can’t weld. Then add in doing deep epoxy working. This man is on a whole other lever. There is a jack of all trades and master of none , and then there are the few jack of all trades master of each one. This was a very long project people who have never tried any one part of this project would ever understand. GREAT job
One of the best videos I’ve seen using epoxy. The engine layout is amazing!! Great job!!
That's freaking Awesome ! (I'd guessed it at about 500 lbs too).Your mind,plus tools,equals Unreal creations.
Ethan words cannot describe how beautiful that creation is. You are a very talented person and should be damn proud of what you created.OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So RAD! Yet not what you guys usually do. Super spontaneous and out of this world. Awesome job! It looks great. Most of your content is kinda far out and off the wall. This is definitely in that genre. Weird but cool. Keep up the excellent work of keeping your viewers on their toes.
You are literally a genius! That is a serious piece of artwork which will hopefully be used and admired for years and years.
That's the plan! Thanks man!
At first I didn't know if I wanted to watch. When I saw you laying out the parts in the top you had my full attention. Beautiful build. Very creative.
I know nothing about cars or motors. But I love watching your channel just for creativity of it!!!!
Best use for a retired, beautiful engine. Stupendous work guys!! Nice change of pace! 🙂
Yewwww
Oh I'm so glad the jags iconic v12 is staying around... the thing ran 11 cylinders strong 😁
Our favorite part is how obvious the damaged cylinder is on the table 🤣
That's how most of them ran when new!..lol...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠 my grandmother survived owning an xj12....from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠
@@billallen4793 yewww
@@GrindHardPlumbingCo lol love you guy's, keep up the killer content ❤️ ...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠
@@GrindHardPlumbingCo shortly afterwards the guy who bought it the motor blew for some reason, and the guy stuffed a 350 Chevy in it. He'd brought it by to show my grandpa how he made it reliable. I never did find our what failed on the engine, but after installing a 250ish H.P. 350 without 2000 sensors going bad all the time. The same grandfather bought the first year 1986 Ford F350 diesel it was in the shop every other trip to Indiana from upstate New York. That was the only vehicle that was less reliable than the Jaguar, his word's. RIP J.P.H....from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠
Just another day at GHPC!! 😁 That table is just completely WOW! The sexiest table I have ever seen!
Ethan and Ed, my new favorite video! Ethan, utterly amazing. You’re a master in your domain. I think you may have found a new niche.
You guys are genius. This is so cool, it reminds me of the time I was maybe 10 years old. My dad rebuilt a 351C for his mustang and had it disassembled and laid out on poly on the garage floor a lot like your table. Its funny how something can spark a memory. Thanks for sparking this one gents! Keep up the amazing work!
Your fabrication is absolutely insane, love your videos keep up the great work looking forward to your next one.
Thanks man! I appreciate that!
That’s incredible. What a great homage to the old Jag.
I've said it before, you guys are artists. Not just this table thing, but in every build. You do everything to the Max and you work quickly and efficiently. You truly live the life of no regrets.
That is one so awesome table. I actually though it would've been a little heavier than it was. Sweet work guys.
DUDE!!! 😳 bar-none one of my favorites of your guy's, i work with epoxies and you were spot on it's freaking beautiful 👍 if it's not a shop table i would say doing a clear coated brush wheel finish on the steel base would send over the top!
OMG! That's amazing. some of the best content Ive seen on any channel. Anyone can enjoy this, not just hardcore fans!!
Thanks man! Glad you think so!
Not just a tremendous fabricator but a tremendous artist foremost.
Love the stuff y'all make
Thanks man!
Keep up the great work guys
Thanks man!
Hands down the best table i have ever seen, its design complexity is marvelous!!!!!!
The fact you blew it FULLY apart beforehand and arranged the parts made it SOOOO much better than just a set of heads/block as others do
That was definitely the best use of epoxy I've ever seen. I've always been curious if you were a carpenter by trade. Your place would suggest so. A super bright LED light in the centre of the base would be cool.
The light is coming. And not a carpenter 😅
Because carpenters are known for making epoxy tables. 🤔
Love epoxy work looks awesome
Thanks!
That’s the table where the best future designs from GHPC will be brought into this world!
Indeed!
The balls to not put down plastic, that's a flex. Nice table
We risk it all
"Building a V12 Epoxy table in 48 hours, in 10 Minutes!
Well, it took us about a week, not including the dry time
@@GrindHardPlumbingCo 168 hours in 10mins not including dry time!! Looks great, never would have expected this from this channel but was a welcome surprise and inspiration for many v12 tables to come!!
Cut to the next video where you're chopping the table up to get a part you need :D
Grind Hard style🤣
@@GrindHardPlumbingCo either that or you notice where the 10mm went
@@GrindHardPlumbingCo keep up the good work ghpc gang! Thinking of doing something similar with a glock huge inspirations going down here
That is amazing, the first time I have watched a whole time lapse and stayed entertained through it all.
Don't often comment on videos, but just, WOW! What a work of art.
Thanks man! And thanks for taking the time to comment!
That is the most creative and incredible repurposing of an engine I think I will ever see in my lifetime. I'm 64, so it's safe for me to say that, and it's absolutely true. Frikin' awesome!
Wow that little table must be worth a fortune in resin alone. I Really love the leg, the way those holes make a heavy piece of box appear light.
You really need to build a 1/4 size monster truck. Big balloon tyres, build to rip, flip and jump.
Nose wheelies, backflips, rear steer. You know you want to.
Awesome table too.
Immortalized in BotalToat epoxy, forever remembered
i been saying this, u are a true artist. everything u build is a piece of art.
Very cool! I’ve always wanted an engine table or coffee table, but always struggled on how incorporate smaller parts like valves and springs. Always thinking it had to have a glass top which greatly limited what I could do. I don’t know why I’ve never considered epoxy! Probably because I’ve never worked with it, I never considered it. I have to do this now. I’ve got several engines perfect for it, I own 3 drag cars, a diesel tech and I maintain a fleet of brush trucks ( fire trucks ) on the side. I’ve got quite a collection of unique parts. This just opens up so many possibles. Thank you for the time lapse ( awesome job ) and for the idea. Glad it randomly popped up in my list.
I have a couple videos of building engine/coffee tables, I think they may widen your possibilities further!
From the moment I saw the thumbnail, my question was "How much does that weigh!" Thank you for indulging my curiosity. Beautiful build and a wonderful video.
That table is so frickin awesome as a 25+ yr mechanic I'd be proud to have that as my dinning room table. Great job. Great engine to choose as well.
I am amazed and impressed that the epoxy mold did not leak all over the floor, nicely done.
Haha! I sealed it very well.
I just love the fact that you poured gallons of epoxy in your house, with nothing on the floor to protect it from a calamity!
Now that my friend was absolutely amazing beautiful table!!!!!!!!!!
i got to admit! this is every engineers dream! what an amazing build!!
Wow, it looks great. From above everything seems to just float. Thanks for posting.
Holy crud guys wow that was pure awesomeness. I was glued the whole time.
Well, its Friday again.........and definitely wasn't expecting this video today, but, hell, Yeeeewwwwwwww! Making more masterpieces.
Hell yeah man!
Now you’re just showing off! This is great! Your skills are amazing
Wow that's phenomenal. You guys build such RAD stuff. Big up from South Africa.
Well this is an emotional day! Yall worked so hard to get that thang carburated and running on 11ish cylinders
this is a dream table right here, the craftsmanship put into just the legs alone is so cool
Thank you! Glad you like it!
The coolest shop table in the world!! It looks fast!
Incredible! Awesome! Beautiful! Art ...
A lot of words for this amazing piece! Nice work!
I have been a massive fan for ages, but it has been a while since you truly captured my attention. This video, this project, this soundtrack. Bravo.
This is definitely the best use for a Jag v12.
That table is frigging sweet
Right?
Man that is awesome!
Pretty ballsy to pour without plastic floor covering, in your house!! Haha
It is so much fun watching an artist create, you took something that was just an idea and made it real. The coolest thing is you took something that most would’ve just thrown out and turned it into something that’s worth thousands. Well done
Thanks man! Making things out of scrap is my favorite thing!
most satisfying video ever created! this is MAD COOL
Yewwwwww
This engine was always destined to be kept because you couldn’t even bin the old head gaskets when the engine was running!😅
What’s most impressive though is all the epoxy pours inside with NO dropsheets on the floor😳✊🏼
Beautiful work as per usual guys
Haha! True! I’ve had the idea to make a table out of it since we first got it!
I'm a big fan of blacktail studios but this is my favorite epoxy table of all times. The pattern on the base may be my favorite part. Arcdroid for another win! I gotta get one.
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it!
Arcdroid works great for cutting holes in square tube like that. Pretty cool little CNC.
This is absolutely awesome. So (relatively) simple, but so nice. The hexagons in the steel are an amazing touch. Great job!
The things you see done, that you thought of almost exactly 10 years ago. Nice
I know we arn't supposed to swear on here but, FARK that's an awesome project mate. Excellent creativity and result.
A great piece of practical artwork Ethan. The Jag lives on...lol
Thank you for weighing it! The whole time I was watching this, I was wondering what it would total out at! That is one cool piece of engine art!
Haha! Of course we had to weigh it! And thank you!
Ethan this is the best use of a jaguar engine ever 😆, turned out beautiful (and heavy 🤣) your a talented dude and your skills are admirable keep up the great work you guys are killing it 👍
By far one of the most badass epoxy pours i have seen, i love that base you made. So sick
Thanks man!
Amazing.. Absolutely great epoxy work. Thanks for documenting and taking us along !
Big props to this video pure genius both the subject matter and the edit, some damn fine work
Looks like an automotive engineer’s dream table. Go for crazy money to the right buyer.
That is stunning work! 60lbs though, SHEEEEEZUS that's gonna be a chore shoehorning that into the house.
That looks absolutely amazing. Well done gentlemen!
That table is SICK, simple as that
This was the coolest build I’ve ever seen!
Yewwww
Ok this turned out amazing. What an epic project. Thanks for sharing.
Hands down one of the coolest projects I’ve ever seen! Awesome craftsmanship!
Thanks man! I appreciate that!!
I cannot possibly think of a better way to to keep yesterday's V-12 Jaguar engine from turning into tomorrow's beer cans.
My hat is off to you Sir! That table is completely amazing and utterly beautiful!
I bet Jay Leno would soil his pants to have that thing in his collection. You do some pretty oddball and entertaining things on this channel but that, my friend it just amazing.
Это просто фантастическая идея. Это лучшее ,что я видел в последнее время. Браво.
