Fun ep, per usual! I don't think short-term bumps (on small sample sizes) mean anything whatsoever. Flipping only makes sense in the medium-term with flagship. And in the long-term, only the narrowest subset of legends - and products - will rise in value. Most will fall off a cliff, given (a) the recency bias and (b) the print runs (or substitutes with tribute RCs). There is zero attention span to hobby investing. What do non McD, non OV, or non RC du-jour cards do on COMC? Nothing whatsoever. Due to herding. I also think performance is less relevant than print runs, seasonality, evolving tastes, player market, social media and influencer consensuses, casual eyeballs temporarily on hockey, etc. Note too rookie cards from different products can move in opposite directions. Too often, we discuss prices in a vacuum, completely independent from understanding market drivers, or even if it is worth focusing on these numbers when the money is better parked elsewhere, i.e. not in cards. I mean what does it even mean if a $200 card goes up $10 for a month and then corrects, when the price of a beer at the game is $12? Or when an ungraded Hedman Young Guns will always be a $25 card? The guy is the best D from his era and a multi Cup winner. That in itself provides more intel than what a Barkov or Bouchard YG is doing this week. And certainly this all explains why no one knows or cares about Stadium Club, except for us. If only more young influencers broadened the scope and attention span of our hobby. Instead, ppl lambaste anything different or devoid of immediate value.
Great episode guys! The reason why they didn't announce S2 on epack is that they know their website is terrible and It would have crashed for sure haha. Last time I checked, 255 unlocked Bedards. Assuming one per case, that's $1.3M worth of packs in 24 hours. We know that many collectors will lock theirs away. So much more has been sold. Some guys are already trying to speckle which is crazy.
My uncle might have the most extensive Pelle Lindberg memorabilia collection on Earth. I’ll take some pics next time I’m there. He was actually hanging with Pelle the night of the accident 😢
3,599 PSA 10's is crazy ... How does the entire PSA submitted cb cards (PSA 1-10) stack against everyone else? Throughout PSA history? Is it over 10,000?

Great thoughts. Appreciate you adding to the conversation and sharing your perspective!
Can we all agree to give all of our Dany Heatly cards to Phil when we see him at shows?
Hahahaha he would absolutely love that.

wow, great info. I'll be fascinating to see how fast the speckled rainbows hit eBay!
It is the distributor charging the outrageous prices to the LCS
How about Minnesota Wild North!😅
there we go!

Not quite the top yet, but likely will be before 2025
You forgot about equipment being better than even 10 years ago. The skate and twig technology is lightyears better today than even a decade ago.
Great point!
LOVE THE RONALDO PICK UP . EURO 2024 Champs , FORCA PORTUGAL
Thanks! Have no clue about soccer cards so it's good to know I made at least a decent choice.
How about comparing a baseball players rookie card value that's equal to a hockey players rookie value that's the same from approx the same year...
how would we evenly compare two different sports? Not sure how to do that.

Is Phil okay?
I think so? Why?
@@hockeycardsgongshow I don't see him this episode - just checking
Too bad Minnesota can't be called The North Stars anymore.
Agreed!
