Just walked into work, pacing around huffing and puffing. (Not thrilled to be here) open UA-cam play first recommended video. Your intro starts, and all is well. Thanks boys!!
Mel Bridgman ( who I met when I was 12 in Victoria and got his autograph) had an orange Calgary Flames helmet on in the original picture, from the year before...
Hahaha, I enjoyed seeing Sean struggle a bit with the Bedard question about the ceiling. It’s difficult, especially when the majority of the media hyped this below than average skater, with great hands, and a shot that’s top tier…. but only when he has four seconds to shoot. For people who are new to collecting, or recently got reintroduced to hockey, Bedard’s hype is similar to Nugent-Hopkins. Major difference is, there weren’t a lot of UA-cam podcasts on card collecting during Nuge’s rookie year, the media now for hockey is insanely bigger, more breakers, and overall the game is more popular during Bedard’s rookie year than Nugent Hopkins. Bedard is going to have a better career than Nuge, but like Hopkins, they both won’t be the next big thing in hockey. Nugent Hopkins Cup RPA once went for 14k Canadian back when it first came out. A lot of people, and the media believed Hopkins was going to be the next guy in line.
It is a tough one....projecting anything into the future is wrought with pitfalls that's why we're trying to ask a number of great hockey minds. Appreciate your perspective and you adding to the conversation.
Bridgman (pron correct) was almost for sure a JOFA -saw them all the time in Europe. Kinda looks like they took two different ones and made a combo. the make-fun-of-anyone-who-wore-it 280 + another JOFA? or just ran a photoshop sticker around the backside of the head/ears?? lol. A lot of big stars wore other versions of JOFAs (and they all looked dumb af) -Gretz, Mario, Jagr, etc.

I'm pretty sure Ken and Dave Dryden are brothers. They were a about 10 years before my time, but I seem to remember reading that.
