Thank you so much. I was using the thick leveling card that came with the Saturn 2 which was a problem for me. I’m going to try leveling it with the FEP film and using the settings, you are recommended.
I do the same, but with some resin inside. That way you 100% duplicate the normal activity. The small amount of resin that is in the vat will compress like it normaly does.
Hi, thanks for your valuable video, I have had problems with the new elegoo saturn 2, I am using Lychee premium as a laminator but the print failed. in other videos, they say that I should print with Chitubox. what's your opinion about it?
Chitubox isn't bad, its most people go to's, however ive never experienced any problems with lychee, and it seemed to be more stable for me, using a window 10 machine. Where did the print fail?
Hey, interesting question, but I noticed you also have an Epax E10. Does the saturn 2 vat bolts lineup with the ones on the epax? I have an E10 and was wondering that since it's also designed to be upgraded to the same 10" screen if there was any cross compatibility without making modifications. Thanks!
saturn 2 vat is thinner, so it wont line up with the E10, that being said id just stick with the saturn 2. Epax is over priced and does the same thing as saturn 2
@@BroadwayNexp Eh. I had a Saturn 1 and the ball joint was garbage for keeping the bed level during bed-wide high suction prints. Always came loose. I prefer the 4 bolts on the Epax.
Theres a little different methods people use. I usually just now use 2 A4 Papers on the LCD screen to level properly. There isn't really wrong way, just preference
@@3D_MK thanks for answering! So im completely new to resin printing. So you do 2x a4 paper and then just home it and set the set to z=0 and done? or do you give it a 0.10mm up until a4 starts to move?
@@Vimi-fpv Nope, dont even press z=0, the gap created by the 2 A4 papers is about .2mm, so it gives right to about a .075mm gap between the fep and the bed plate since on average a FEP sheet is about .125mm thick. the extra gap on the first layer is not a big deal, as long as the gap is evenly spread on the 4 corners you should be okay
@@3D_MK hmmm weird. You lose screws of the bed right? Home it on the 2 a4 sheets tighten the bolts of the bed. And you don’t tell the printer that this is the z=0 button? Just leave it as it is?
Very late friend, but I've found wild success with a Grow Tent from Amazon. Running $40, and I've got temp controller and a heater, haven't had temp problems since
What is the cylinder you have under the FEP during install? I've yet to change my FEP, but I'm reading to put something like a sponge and then others reading nothing at all under the FEP sheet for proper tension. Pretty contradicting.
its a 3d printed spacer that used for properly tensioning a fep sheet when u replace it. theres alot of thnigi verse and other 3d websites. usually thats the ideal size for meduim sized resin printers
Good vid, do you find your buildplate unlevels fairly fast? I have to relevel after about 5 or 6 prints and Im really careful not to put pressure on the mounting knob. I find the 2 screws arent holding the huge plate as well.
Thanks for this video-- I just bought the Saturn 2 and a WhamBam flex plate. Does the flex plate change how I should level the build plate, or would it be the same? Also, will these settings translate over to Chitubox? Thank you!
yes, for elegoo they require to add a modifier on the sensor so that the bed plate can stop a little earlier due to the extra space of the flex plate. After you put that you can follow the method in the video
@MK Ultra Hi, first of all thanks for the video, I'm really upset with the adherence problems I'm having... Whick kind of "modifier on the sensor" do you mean? I'm still using the original fep so I don't understand if I can level the bed plate direcly on the fep or not... Thanks a lot.
plant based is very brittle and wont produce details like the 8k resin. the "less fumes" are a gimmick and you should always use proper ventilation with resin printers wherever You use them. Get a small tent enclosure if you plan on using it indoors with exhaust fan pointing out to the window. get the 8k resin. you wont regret it
I hope you will make more videos in the future! Im just starting out using these machines and would like to learn more. Thanks for the tips 🙏 if i wanna get other colors and transparent resin, which brand works best?

I use am elegoo saturn, been trying to use siray tech easy resin for awhile and only a few prints come out , not the whole plate .
ensure your bed plate is leveled properly and the room isnt to cold, avoid >=20C

So you only tight them on the film and press zero z=0 without go op 0.01 intill a paper can slip true bed and film lol. Im so confused now..

any advise for settings with Aqua Gray 8k from Phrozen ?
i think it runs very similar to the settings i showed here
@@3D_MK ok I will try it with the same setting thank you !
What's your enclosure? I'm loosing my mind in winter. Either I'll build a closet wit heater or overpay for whambam

If u tighten it down nicely, i found my self not needed to relevel for about 3 months, which for me is about over prints

Holy cows! That was helpful
thanks big dog, i'll give it a go
It looks like you are into printing model train cars. I am as well. It would be great to connect with you offline.
You arent supposed to tighten the plate with force.
Bro... why is there Resin everywhere.. even on your machine? be careful dude.
Oh hey I use the same mouse software. Icue
