To those who have the issue of the texture not showing/Black Texture up for illumination settings: Check if precomposition settings are set to "Move all attributes to new composition" instead of "Leave all attributes in composition". Was facing the same issue till i saw that i had accidentally set the precompose option to the latter Lmao. Anyways, thanks for the great tutorial!

I went back to AE and tried several different colors for the text, but it always extrudes black in element. The XYZ coordinate symbol is also black. Any Ideas what is happening?
@@SmertimbaGraphics Yes, it is a problem with the installation and computer compatibility with element 3d. It has nothing to do with your tutorial --excellent tutorial. I have another question though, I have the finished product from this tutorial running in a loop and from the transition from the last frame back to the first frame causes a jump, or kind of "glitch" effect in the texture. I don't think yours was looping, so you had no reason to be concerned with this, but maybe you have an idea how to get that texture layer to smooth out between last to first frame. This is like way more complicated than a box, or ball, moving across the screen; still way above my head. Thank You!
You will need to keyframe the evolution on the fractal noise instead of using *time expression, keyframe it from 0 to 360 and loop it that way, then keep adding another rotation value every few seconds or add a loopout expression to the property

BUT..Upon the Creating Final Look, for some reason the X and the T of my Montserrat Text had crossover normals issues and there's a hole where they meet. I fixed it by adjusting the kerning, but I feel my move was a bit of a cop out. How would one fix that pos/neg issue with normals crossing over? Thanks for creating such a great tutorial.

I was not able to ever recreate the issue that some people are having with the scene going black, so I won't be able to help here

You mean the letters overlap? You could increase the spacing between letters. That's just a nature of Montserrat text😁

I dont have depth of field option under camera options. only thing in my camera options is zoom
It must be a renderer, change it to classic 3d in composition settings (ctrl + k is the shortcut when selecting a timeline)

Did you set up the layers before going into element windows?
