But it’s true, nearly anything you can do with a plug-in in after effects you can do without it, with a little extra elbow grease.
Well, so this is about half of what Lockdown can do(and actually easier than using that plug-in) obviously you’ll not have any 3d export ability and it’s more like a frame by frame solution. But still, for the every day needs for surface tracking this is more than suitable for people who don’t want to spend nearly 200 bucks on a plug-in. Also if you could set up your video like how Lockdown preps their pre-comps, it’ll make your tracking even more successful, and make this useable for videos with all the problems you mention needing to avoid.
I'm completely beginner, I would need a more detailed explanation and tutorial vide because I'm stuck since I don't know some fundamentals. Are there any other similar videos?
