Thank you so much for posting this!! I’m a new nursing student who’s been struggling with moderate hearing loss for low frequency sounds. I felt so discouraged & like I couldn’t do my vitals because of my hearing loss. I’m happy to find there is another medical professional like me. It means a lot and thank you again for you help and recommendations ❤️

Thank you for your informative videos which I came across while researching new stethoscopes with bluetooth capabilities. I am a 48 year-old Registered Nurse with idiopathic acquired unilateral asymmetrical severe to profound sensorineural postlingual hearing loss requiring BTE aids. I also was not aware that AMPHL existed.

    Muchas gracias
Thanks DD, I think you have explained my pathology better than my doctors and audiologists.
I am a veterinarian with moderate hearing loss, I use intracanal hearing aids, they do not have bluetooth.
I perform the auscultation of my patients by removing one of my hearing aids and using the 3200 electronic littmann stethoscope but I have to turn it to the maximum volume, so I was thinking of acquiring a littman core whose description says that it increases the sound 40x compared to the 3200 that it ago 20x.
I do not know if you know veterinarians who use it above all to know their experience with animals.
    Thank you!

Thank You so much for this video! I am a homecare nurse with moderate to severe mixed hearing loss looking for a new stethescope which will pair with my BTE phonak hearing aids. I have been in the medical profession for 20 yrs and had no idea that AMPHL existed. Up until now I’ve been using an amplified littman which requires me to remove my hearing aids each time. Anyway, I will check out AMPHL to see if anyone has some feedback on products. I also agree with you, normal hearing people are not the correct people to review products for hearing impaired, Just as someone with 20/20 vision would not review eye glasses for a person with a severe vision deficit. Again thank you for what you are doing.

I’m in the market for a new stethoscope I have the phonak Bluetooth hearing aid and would like a stethoscope that I would not have to take my hearing aid out in order to hear heart sounds so I’ll be anxious Lisa to see what you found and your opinion.

Hi i am 55 years old and I am a nurse of 22 years with acquired, progressive, bilateral, sensory neural hearing loss that can fluctuate at times, derived from ototoxic antibiotics as a young girl. They said I am functionally deaf. I hear very well with my phonak hearing aids but If they go out I'm not able to hear much at all especially speech. And at times even with hearing aids I can't understand speech at all. Its like I have to give myself time to actually understand and absorb what is being said if that makes sense. I believe the little hairs in my cochlea eroded away. I have eliminated all dairy, meat, sugar, and wheat from my diet, and that has helped a lot. But in my new position I need to listen to body sounds a little more, so now I'm searching for that remedy.

Hi Native baby, I can relate to not understanding speech at all times. I find that I have to be well rested and alert to hear my best. If If I am fatigued, I do not focus on my senses as easily (visual cues, body language, etc.) and my ears just do not want to cooperate when I am tired. I also take in account that sound waves are processed much different (and slower) for people using hearing aids than people with normal hearing. Finding the best stethoscope to work for your hearing loss will make life at work so much easier. I hope you find some of the videos helpful. Let us know what you find to work best for you. Thanks for your comment.

Thinklabs The ONE digital amplified stethoscope along with the bluetooth transmitter will pair with newer Phonak aids (Marvel and Paradise aids) Have you HIP or Aud set up a separate "Stethoscope" profile for you to use and have the sound tailored to concentrate on the lower "bass tone" frequencies so that you have a better outcome to hear the bodily sounds

What would recommend for someone with SSHL without hearing aids. Which stethoscope would be good just to amplify sound to one side. The other side is deaf and has tinnitis?

Hi Daisy, I am curious...what is the degree of hearing loss and has all underlying causes been ruled out? Have you ever used a stethoscope prior to your sudden HL? If it were me, I'd go with the Thinklabs with a earbud. If that doesn't work, you could try headphones with noise cancellation.
