    Thanks, I wish my audiologist took the time to show me some of that. I wore mine wrong for the first 3 months. Good video.

    I just got hearing aids for the first time 3 days ago. They are so comfortable that I really don't notice them. But I'm having a really hard time getting them in. I came across this video after several others and now I'm ready to try again. Thanks so much!

    So far, this is the most helpful video I have found. I just wish there was a way to see the tubing better. I will try again tomorrow. This morning was ridiculously frustrating.

    Thanks, very informative! I’m a newbie, only had them a week and sometimes think they’re not sitting in properly, not sure how deep to push in.

      Glad it was helpful! You push them in to where the wire goes up against the side of your head. If you'd like to jump on a video call with Russell let us know.

      That was helpful, thanks! I check in the mirror now that the wire goes straight up, also the trigger finger tip I’m using. Getting a bit more handier at it now. Most helpful video I’ve come across!

      Great informational video! I was told yesterday that I needed hearing aids for both ears! I've got to go back for my appointment next month to get fitted for them. This helped me a lot, because that's the style of hearing aids I want!

    What would you recommend to help from losing your hearing aids

    • @heroesofhearing
      @heroesofhearing  2 місяці тому

      To prevent losing your hearing aids, here are a few tips that might help:
      Use a Retention Cord: These can attach to your hearing aids and clip onto your clothing, ensuring they stay secure. Depending on the style of hearing aid. For RIC/BTE devices something like this: www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSIP43Z?ref=emc_s_m_5_i_atc
      Create a Routine: Always place your hearing aids in the same spot when you’re not wearing them, like a designated case or a specific drawer.
      Check Regularly: Make it a habit to check if your hearing aids are securely in place throughout the day. It could be the domes need to be changed or sized differently.
      Label with Contact Info: If your hearing aids have space, consider adding a small label with your contact info in case they get lost.
      Use Hearing Aid Clips: These clips can attach to your hearing aids and your clothing or hair, providing extra security.
      Worst case if you did lose a hearing aid you should have a Loss & Damage deductible you'd pay to get a replacement. Unless you purchased them online then they might not have one.
      Hopefully, these tips help! 😊

    My age 71yr old I have to go for a hearing test I'm a bit concerned because my son-in-law got one a month ago it hurts his ear

    • @heroesofhearing
      @heroesofhearing  10 місяців тому +3

      There are different styles of hearing aids. The hearing specialist should be able to make them more comfortable. Has he let them know about it? The hearing test should be pain less and if you have hearing loss they should be able to put a set of hearing aids in your ear to have you experience how you are hearing with them and how they feel comfort wise. There is no need to be concerned. Unless the place you are going doesn't know what they are doing. 🫣 Keep me posted!
