I like you showing where you find the gold as it helps educate where and how I should be looking for them myself. Thank you for doing this.. Keep it up!!
I retired this year and looking for something to past time and a hobby. You made the choice for me, alot of creeks in Iowa and i need to check em out !! Revivalized by Dan!!!!!
It will be a real challenge. Neither Iowa or much of the rest of the Midwest have had volcanos, the original gold source. All gold in Iowa and the Midwest is thought to have been dropped from glaciers when they retreated. All you are likely to find is fine flour gold - don't expect any nuggets. See raregoldnuggets.com/?p=650 for some information on gold in Iowa.
Don't stop showing us when you find the gold in those crevasses. That's just the fun! I'm just as happy as you are when you show us your finds! To bad there's no gold to be found in the Netherlands. Otherwise I bought myself some stuff and started digging. Seeing how much fun it gives you works contagious.
Dan. Please don't change a thing about your vids. U have come this far by doing what you do. I'm sure im speaking for most as most of us love the way you incorporate other things like flowers and wildlife/ where gold is found. Love all your vids mate.
Show them as you go, we all love to see the gold. You found some beautiful gold. It pays to clean as you go. The vacuum really helped. Great video of the Fraser river gold. Thanks Dan.
Absolutely amazing. I'm so excited, heading to Lytton next weekend (June 29) to hit my claim HARD. Landowners notified, gold owl mats bought and equipped in my sluice. I'M READY.

Enjoy your vid's, A small piece of knowledge on your vacuum... knocking the air filter (into a pan) out after each section you clear will give you longer battery life (it really depletes batt fast with just a little dust).. the other thing to note is the bottom of the unit is very thin (try not to slide), but adding a layer of vinyl/neoprene (siliconed to bottom) will keep the foot pads from getting holes & losing vacuum. Hope that helps
mrmcclung - great comments and suggestions, the first time I saw anyone using the VAC was in AZ cleaning bedrock in dry washes, dirty hot nasty work in the desert 🌵 they were using generators to keep their dry sluice running and VAC’s charged up, so they didn’t have to stop all day.
@@wakeupidiotsnow2611 I used one on the job (concrete chunks and dust) only takes a minute to tap out (and maybe some fines), but once filter is a bit obstructed the fan has to work harder a the draw goes to 2-3x faster. Other than the formentioned, it was handy & sped the work up verses cords
Thanks Dan, I am bedridden here in england Yorkshire moors. Please please keep showing us the gold and THE SCENERY. Keep up the good work. HOPE your bank is filled full of yoour gold won today
it would be cool if you could use something like a funnel and use some copper tubing to create a vac attachment to get into those tight parts. Copper just because it is easy to bend and shape or even a bendy straw type idea.
Agreed..I'm sitting here trying to figure out methods for extending the battery length if possible too - would drive me nuts to have to bring so many because I'd want to be so meticulously thorough
Don't worry about burnning up your vaccum..your finding riches..you can afford to buy #10 vaccums & new batteries with what gold Dan got in this video..critter.
great video again Dan. This really shows how gold will wedge down deep and stay in place. Miners new and old should watch this video to learn something. You better show all the gold sitting, makes me want to get out and dig, or should I say, clean the bedrock lol. heavy pans sir!
Those crevasse tools reminded me that I have a dental appointment next week. Lol !!! That shop vac did a nice job. Excellent gold ! Love it !! Just imagine the hundreds of crevasses waiting for you to explore ? Keep digging. !!
love seeing the flakes and pickers as you go. It's nice to see everything dry vs all that water you have to deal with. a good spot that produces lots of gold is awesome. thanks Dan
Another great video!!! It's nice to see the gold on the bedrock, and in the cracks, you never know how big it really is until it's out of the cracks. Thank you for the videos!
Awesome job! Glad to see the vacuum came out on this trip. Funny to see it when I just comment on your last video asking whether or not you use a vacuum. Everyone loves to see gold on bedrock or just gold period! Great job again!
Very fun video. Now you just need to stick some smaller PVC into your vacuum to get down into the narrow bottom of crevices where it's harder to suck up
the thrill of the hunt is the best part and ya gotta keep the suspense of the total find til the end to get your full video view. Glad to see you brought a vacuum cleaner..it makes things so much easier to clean out the crevices in order to get deeper!
I enjoy watching the entire process! Its the gratification earned when you find that picker! We get to see your process and the share it with you! When I sit to watch an episode, I’m sure to be entertained!
Camera fainted at 14:30 from all the excitement. Well, that was my perception. LOL Awesome find there Dan! The water is all but dried up here. There's not enough flow to use the sluice. You know, I never even thought to take a vacuum to my claim. Awesome Idea, I learned something in this video. Thanks Dan! Looking forward to your next video.
That’s so awesome to watch. I like seeing those pickers and nuggets. And seeing the final weights. Showing the estimate of total market price would be nice to see as well at the end. Maybe show money made per hour to put some prospective on it. Wish we had gold in Arkansas. That would be fun for me.
Have you ever used the reverse tweezers? They open when you squeeze and close when you let go? They might hold the little flakes better and you could modify the tips if they are too wide. You can get them in hobby shops in the small tool section or craft stores in the sewing section
Looking at the layered & fracturing structure of the rocks you work on, are fossilised/calcified trees from ancient forests? Many of them have the appearance of crumbling rotted wood..
Great video! I have always wondered why people don't use vacuum cleaners!!! They seem to really clean the bottom of those crevices. Good stuff! I think you like to show off your bigger pieces when you find them. The excitement is noticeable. Keep doing that:) You may have missed a little piece on your scale when you weighed everything:) Be safe!
