I have purchased (not at the same time) a C-5 and a C-9 off of Ebay. Both were used and marked down considerably. I had a luthier check both out and they passed inspection. I can't hear a whole lot of difference between the two. I even went to Guitar Center to listen to both next to each other. Difference in tone. Yes, a little but enough to justify a $600.00 difference in cost? No way in hell! Maybe I'm just not a picky audiophile. Frankly I wouldn't pay retail for either guitar. Four years ago I had a cheapo Yamaha I got out of a pawnshop. Frankly it sounded just fine to me and I wish I had kept it and and not bothered going any farther. Hope that helps. My best advice is if you have a Guitar Center nearby go do a sound test. If you got money coming out of your ass (I don't. That's for sure) buy whatever the hell floats yer boat. Lol.
I've been practicing those 5 chords lately since I got a classical acoustic last week. Just playing those over and over have a relaxing effect. Thanks :-)
I've only been playing for a few years and watching this has been a great help. And it's inspiring to watch such a talented woman play and teach in a video. Thanks!
Ma'am you've just helped me alot in learning Fingerstyle, I've been struggling on learning it for sometime now but when I saw your tutorial I right understood the concept behind it. Thank You Very Much and CHEERS!!
I'm new with guitar and thanks to you and a few other online classical guitar teachers, I'm learning proper techniques and practices. God bless you Ms. Iren.
I really found the two lessons by Iren really useful. I've been away from my guitar waaaaay too long, and this helped me jumpstart my yearning for the guitar again. I'd love to watch more of your tutorials! Part 3 (and so on), please!
I LOVE the way you patiently break down the basic parts of this composition. VERY WELL DONE & THANK YOU ! I have always looked at fingering picking as dividing the thumb and fingers. Sort of like a left and right brain division, where they work independently from one another. But you show in this composition that they actually work in conjunction with one another. GREAT JOB!
This is a very effective teaching technique. I love the way you broke it out into smaller, more attainable steps, that can then be put together into something much more impressive than just the sum of its parts! I wish many more of my guitar lessons were delivered using this process.
Iren : I am starting out and you are a breath of fresh air. I have no idea where in the world you are but I would like to see more of you and learn to play like you. You are an inspiration and your attitude to tell me to have fun is encouraging. I have watched both videos several times and every time I go to the guitar with renewed vigor.. thank you!
your my new teacher.ive been playing 30 years and know and love alot of classical.i have never truely learnt correct finger style.the way you teach is great.you dont listen to yourself to your talk, and everything you say is part of the lesson.thanx, anthony
"Play it on the open strings a couple times!" Teachers, take note, this is how a guitar teacher should teach, ie, incentivize the student. She pushes, but she encourages. The underlying message? "You CAN do this, now come on, let's give it a try." As much a lesson on how to give a lesson as on the technique itself. Thank You Irene, well done.
Loving the fact that classical guitar and exercises like these are improving my overall playing in many styles. Thank you for making this material available!
I was a total novice until somehow u made me burn when u said if u ''want a little challenging" that u made me pull my guitar and matched and more over exceeded the speed . Nyways U r a inspiration and Thanks alot for this wonderful tutorial. I nver thot I can play this gud. U are encouraging and a great teacher. :)
This is a great video, over the years i've met instructors that don't have the patients this lady has, i would think any body could learn from this video, very nice
haha, you know we all gonna have a hard time doing this...when you said, "Once you've got that down, you can start adding fingerstyle arpeggios"...at that point I was like, Damn, now it get's real
Lots of guitar lesson on the web. She is a very, very good teacher. Just starting finger picking and she clarifies a lot. Will look for more of her vids.
Only just seeing this in 2020 but wow what a fantastic clear and concise lesson. I am only just really getting into this style after playing blues and rock in band for 30+ years. I dabbled in this style before but as with age I decided to finally mature with my playing styles. Again thank you for this brilliant lesson. One day, you never know, I may own one of those beautiful guitars.
that's a lot sister. your easy way tutorials help me to start playing guitar ones more. please post more for us who are unable to go to guitar classes but willing to play good n healthy guitar.
Hi Irin, This is Tejas here. You played it quite amazingly. I tried this lesson today. tough i was not that fluent i played it ok. it may take me next 2 days to be fluent. I started three days before when searching how to improve my appregio speed then came across this video. Wow. Thank you. I've improved the speed already but not that clean as yours. I'm gonna use this for my daily warm up.
larkyleroy : Don't give up. I know it is very hard on your own, but here you have a very good teacher. Must have a go at this , sounds very nice indeed. I first started to play at the age of 58. I have played guitar for 10 years, I still can not play very good, but I will not give up. Never too late to learn anything. Iren makes it look easy. Thank you.
😊😊😊😊 Hi Iren, I used to see your videos time ago. I'm here again. I really enjoy your music, your lessons and your presence. Now I'm trying to learn in the way you teach, it looks really easy. Thanks a lot for be here still. I love you !! 🙏🏻🥳💐💐💐🥳
Thank you so much for teaching how to play freestyle guitar in your video of part 1 and 2. By accident I noticed how wonderful, in fact I have to say incredible, playing freestyle guitar can sound by seeing also other UA-camrs. Actually, I though it is much more difficult to master that but the way how you teach (clear instructions, breaking it in to different parts)makes it much easier to learn. It really encourage me to learn more and to take lessons.
Hi Iren, it’s one of the best contents for friends who genuinely love to learn this beautiful art; you are a wonderful teacher! Trying to pick up the art during the lockdown 😊. Take care and stay safe...
Okay Cordoba. I bought one of your guitars. Now kindly get this artist to do some more lessons.
