Stay cool 😎 Ryan, enjoy your weekend with a cold one and the Macaws...I'm sure they have just as " tuff woodpeckers lips " Koool watching that Hyundai with the magnetic and claw, great setup for your operation 👍👍🍻
I love these videos I drive a compactor all day long at the landfill here in my town and I see lots of different things that other people don't get to see much but it's a fun job 6 days a week.
You know it's going to be a good day when first video of the day is Ryan 😅 by the way how is your Dad doing Ryan you have got to film his first day back to work you know he going to be handing out butt chewing 😂😂😂😂 great video brother
If you had a ramp that all trucks tipped onto with a magnet above a conveyor it could catch all iron. Similar to the magnet that catches the reinforcing steel in concrete recycler.
Thought I’d let you know..I’m in Ohio and I’ve seen at dump sites the same trac-hoe with a magnet set up..but what made his setup unique was the trac hoe was towing a side board trailer and he was placing the metal right in the trailer..spin 180 and load. It was quick to grab material as fast as the dumpsters were being emptied. Once full, he tracked over to a dump site and dumped trailer for it to be recycled.
Gov Deals have something you might need in your neck of the woods ( 686 Rock Crusher Road, Walhalla, South Carolina)...Telsmith 3 Stage Crushing Plant. Would make a GREAT "What did i buy at the auction" lol S
As always I love watching your videos. I don't comment much but I like that 844 you have. I personally own two loaders in the mid range series a John Deere 524 and a Komatsu wa 200 both comparatively speaking our 125 hp range but we have taken the little factory buckets off and put 9 yard scoop buckets for dry chicken manure. About those two machines brand new January 2022 when you couldn't get a deal on anything due to Covid😎 I can honestly say that John Deere has had zero cost to operate and downtime. I definitely can't say that with the Komatsu. If you want something to drive you crazy and not much factory support get you a Komatsu Now the local tech that drives out and works on it in the field is great. He will stay out there for 10 hours a lot of times for a software glitch and he's on the line with Tech Support to get reboot codes etc. and even though they don't charge us for that, it cost us money in downtime just for silly little computer issues. And I can say in the last 2 1/2 years that's probably happened or eight times we have six months left on that warranty, and I can tell you what it's going down the road before that warranty runs out. And ours do not get operated like yours do every single day. We're talking less than 1500hr total on each machine.
We r glad u ran into that dude at the roulette table. With all your experience, you must have a iso / qs procedure to clarify and streamline operation, set up and maintenance???❤
YA know, I was just thinkin that it was about time for a new Mr. DIGG vid. I thought you may have been "Down With The Sickness"! How's the World Record Slip'in Slide plannin coming? Thanks for the great vid!
I found your channel last week im a loader operator and i listen to your videos while im in my cat 938M I just applied to waste management as a heavy equipment operator im obsessed with the compactor content i find those machines super interesting. Ever since I found your content I wanted to hop in one.
I might have Luis finish stripping that Cat Crusher , pressure wash the parts, pallet them up, and put out a video once a month or so of salvage equipment available. Those final drive wheel units go for a pretty penny used. Two sold would make that truck payment for a month or two.
The expanded polystyrene CAN be recycled, since polystyrene is a thermoplastic. The trouble is that it's not worth enough to do so. And I wish there was an alternative to using it without any sort of containment other than a cardboard box, but there's just no other economical method of insulation; I go through a shitton of it at work in the form of cool boxes, and end up throwing out an average of one or two a day because they just break eventually. And that's not counting the bits that fall off due to rough handling, or people being too enthusiastic opening the outer box with a knife, or just discarding the outer box before shipping and leaving a trail of the stuff through the entire system. And we need insulation because all the samples the lab tests need to be kept cool and thus inactive in transit, to stop them either producing gas and detonating the sealed bottle, or decomposing further when they need to be tested in their current state. But even with the microplastics, they're still better than the generic plastic cool boxes we used to use, because the plastic would break, they didn't insulate for shit, and people would steal them for picnics. Which isn't advisable for something that's been used for sending samples of assorted manures around. Or, worse, digestate, because that stuff REEKS.
Possums are more afraid of you than you are of them. On a serious note.. they don’t get rabies, eat ticks, worms, small rodents, dead animals, snakes, berries and such. A rather helpful creature to have around.. and they are mostly active at night, unless disturbed.. so…
Thank you! Why don’t you want to magnet about 12 feet long up through that garbage pile as your compacting. Seems like it would be easy and Still be efficient.?
When / if do you think it will be financially feasible to mine old landfills? When I got my property I didn't have a penny extra left over so I built my first home with pallets and insulated with feed bags stuffed with styrofoam scrapes. That building worked well, still standing.
They are already digging up some landfills in the north east. But one of two things has to happen I believe either that area just needs more landfill space and their forced to dig it back up to recycle or the prices of the commodities have to drive the need to mine the Landfill
Hey RYan I have another question the guy that runs the magnet is that his full-time job or is he jumping from machine to machine? Seems like , picking, stacking, and packing would be a full-time job on that operation
That’s a great question! We buy all of ours used/rebuilt and on average get about 8 years out of them before a rebuild is necessary. Thanks for watching!
Why don't you connect a trailer, on solid wheels, to your Hyundai 160, so that you don't have to make many trips to the container. Either on a towbar or with a rope that the claw can grab onto?
I have not been watching very long, but I do enjoy your videos, could you please do me a favor and put a vest and a hard hat on. Just cause you're the boss don't mean you can't get hurt. lead by example.
John Deere my option lol ain’t worth much but here it is back in the day John Deere was step above everyone else because they had transmissions figured out!! Now days other equipment brands have figured it out too so still good equipment idk anymore dang government juice screwing everyone up DEF what no I can hear lol anyways there’s my 2 cents
Just know the nitro gas not that good . Yeah it save you on gas . But I’m tell you this when they catch on fire . It a rap . Because we had a trash truck have catch on fire over here if I remember it was in Chesapeake va . And the crazy part it catch a prison house on fire on top of that . When the truck was on fire at the same time.
Awesome video Ryan best way to start my Friday off! Couple questions 1. Do you have an Instagram account? 2. Could you give Aaron a camera so we can see what he gets into in a day please?
IG yes it’s under my name I think Ryan Williams or Mr.DiGG, I need to work on that account more. Love the idea of giving the camera to Aaron for a day!! Thanks
Styrofoam: I wonder if this and chemically-similar materials could be made to reverse the polymerization of the molecules, thus disassembling the "inflated" material into basic hydrocarbons that use hardly any volume at all. - Just think of what a soldering iron (a hot one...) would do. Then imagine a "soldering iron" extension on the bucket of a mini excavator. (This one too would require a generator, but I wonder if this extension would co-exist with the magnet.) Basic reading: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polystyrene#Extruded_polystyrene_foam (redirected from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Styrofoam). Sidebar: When you were approaching the top of the landfill, I suddenly thought of the "three-countries-point" where Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands converge. It is just a hill with a marker (and three languages spoken), but it attracks tourists trying to cross borders as quickly as possible. - The really funny aspect [matter of opinion]: for decades it even was a "four-countries-point", due to a fold in an official map rendering Moresnet not attributed to Belgium.
"Tough as woodpecker lips." That is new for the northerner. Great video Ryan
Credit to my Dad for that one! 😂
Stay cool 😎 Ryan, enjoy your weekend with a cold one and the Macaws...I'm sure they have just as " tuff woodpeckers lips "

Always good to see a tour of the different businesses, Mr Digg
Wishing you every success buddy 👍

have you considered getting a compactor for the shredder metal? it would let you get more tons per semi load compressed and bailed
Not really because the boxes are already close to being overweight
I really enjoy your walk around videos and enjoy seeing the employees keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
Great video. I love the way you interact with your employees.
Thank you!
Aways enjoy watching what all of your employees doing their jobs. You can tell that they are appreciated. Thank you for sharing! 😊

How do you fuel up your machines?
We have several tanks around the site that the machines just drive to. For the larger machines, I have portable tanks.
The expanded polystyrene CAN be recycled, since polystyrene is a thermoplastic. The trouble is that it's not worth enough to do so.

Cool info! It’s definitely a problematic material! Definitely dont wanna picnic with any of your co workers!! Lol

good landfill video

lol thanks!!
I didn't know that woodpeckers had lips in GA.
Yup, tough ones! 😂
and you are right 826 c cat is the best that's what I drive
MR.DIGGS why dont u bye mulchers with electrique motors.... they should be cheaper to run???
don't have the power back there in that area, good idea though!
Nice video
Thanks 👍👍
How long do you tend to get out of the 826 compactors?
That’s a great question! We buy all of ours used/rebuilt and on average get about 8 years out of them before a rebuild is necessary. Thanks for watching!
Your 844k has a 9yrd bucket ! That truely tell That i dont work with the same product ! I had a 9yrd on a 544k !! Now got a 624L with a 11'2yrd
Definitely not the same product lol
Your chanel is wonderful by the way im a big fan !! keep it up !!!

You’re right
having someone wash your plant will save you in the long term by having someone around they notice the sound changes of things like bearing going out
That’s a great point!
👍👍
Thanks phud!
Comment for the algorithm. 😺
Feed the machine! Thanks
Would have been a good time to tell the young man not to leave the bucket in the air and exit the cab, several times.
Good eye!
AARON is the man
He s something alright!😂
How many tons come in in the 1 hour
sorry, never checked but if I had to guess about 75
So is that landfill going to be worth millions in a 100 years? When precious materials have been depleted, and recycling is more profitable?
Anything is possible! If government had good sense we’d recycle it now.
There is a recycling place in Elkhart in that melts that Styrofoam down and in to blocks
Oh really?!
the crazy part about styrofoam is the second you put it in an solvent it dissolves into almost nothing that entire load would fit in a 5 gallon bucket
It’s an interesting but problematic material.
Tourgher than woodpecker lips that's a good one thanks not heard that one
Gotta give credit to my dad for that one!
John Deere my option lol ain’t worth much but here it is back in the day John Deere was step above everyone else because they had transmissions figured out!!
