  • Watch the full MTB Tire Roundup video - • Which MTB Front Tire I...
Developed and proven over the past few seasons by top World Cup racers, Pirelli's Scorpion Enduro M is designed for mixed terrain and features consistently spaced, large knobs that grow in depth as you move outward. The shoulder knobs are positioned in an alternating pattern and have a single, deep sipe. There is also a transition knob next to every other center knob pair to lessen dead space in the tread.
Tested as part of Vital's Front Tire Roundup (link below), where we put eight front tires head-to-head and compared how they rode in dry, loose over hardpack, sandy, and rocky terrain. Another tire that our crew had never ridden prior to this test, we had high expectations for the Scorpion based on its World Cup pedigree!
    Specs:
    - Width: 2.6”
    - Casing: HardWALL
    - Compound: SmartGrip Gravity
    - Verified weight: 1183g
    - MSRP: $90 USD

If the terrain where you've tested out those tires is the one shown in the video, well it's a hard pack sandy terrain which definitely isn't the terrain the Pirelli scorpion M are designed to, you should have go with Scorpion R (rear wheel) and Scorpion S (front wheel).
If you're riding on typical northern terrains, i mean rocky with lots of pebbles and slightly muddy then the Scorpion M is at home in that case.
Those tires are just not designed for the terrain you've tested them, thus the central knobs and side knobs transition is definitely not optimal, while i'm pretty sure with Vittoria Mazza you just felt way more comfortable on that terrain.
(EDIT): Ok i didn't see the end of the video showing the votes when do i talked about the Mazza.

Have a look at the pirelli scorpion enduro R my guy, EXCELLENT grip and traction on mud, tarmac or DH terrain. I live in Scotland so I can assure you I know what I'm talking about when it comes to wet conditions 😂 technically the Enduro R is for rear wheels. Hence the "R" but I fitted to my front and rear and the grip is insane!
