Agreed and it’s understandable on Yuri being swayed since DRLs are a prominent feature of a car’s design. It’s pretty well known that Audi started this modern trend in DRLs with their R8/A4 10+ years ago and is one of the main reasons Audis became so popular in America and other car brands quickly began adding LED DRLs to their vehicles. Serious question, did they fix the Kia car theft issue in these newer models (2022-2023)? It makes me a little weary they had such old tech in the steering column up till 2021 that they are so easily stolen right now, and they aren't issuing a recall, just handing out steering wheel locks.

Love love new look but very disappointed that the ember light is not on all the time...that light was the signature of Telluride...please bring it back for 2024
Nice review. We opted for the 23 Palisade, it's got more luxury features in the Calligraphy for the same price. Also, we got it at MSRP whereas the Telluride is going for a minimum of $6k market adjustment in our area (NJ).
Personally I like the new DRLs. Also check out the terracota interior for the telluride! It’s night and day compared to the black. Telluride>Palisade in my book. Palisade interior try’s too hard to look luxury but doesn’t quite hit like a benz imo
I think they took the front amber lights off of the Telluride for the 2023 model because most people hated it for some reason. I've seen Tellurides in person, but most of them were LX to EX trims.
The Telluride has much classier, almost European lines compared with the Palisade which looks way over-styled and a bit chintzy IMO. Hard HVAC buttons and the new screen seal the deal. Telluride for sure!
Hi I’m in the USA. I’m wondering why kia/Hyundai doesn’t have bench seats for the prestige model. It’s something that is important to me. I want all the features and tech. That comes with the prestige model. Not down grade just to get the bench seats on a lower level.
They need to turbo that 3.8 V-6 or put in the 3.3 from Genesis/Kia Stinger into it and make a powerhouse model like all euro brands do. Everything else meets the mark except for engine choices..... Kia Telluride 3.8L V-6 Turbo with 380ish HP and over 400 ft-lb of torque with performance modes and a killer trim package for 65K 😍
I was going to get a Kia but there mark ups where I live are insane, I just wanted space for my kids and apple car play so we got a Atlas. But Kia is making really nice cars these days can’t go wrong with one.

I guess I’m one of the few people who never really liked the amber DRLs, so not sorry to see them go. Overall, the Telluride is a handsome SUV, while the Palisade looks like it’s trying too hard to look luxurious, and comes off as more of a floozie. 😎
I prefer the manual tilt and telescope steering column ... quick and easy and saves weight. but i guess if you're extraordinarily lazy power is good lol
I don’t care about all those software options but I need quality in body material, leather and dashboard material. For this price and mpg along with dealer markup prices on these vehicle ,I can go for Lexus/Acura/BMW/Audi/Benz/Volvo
I started looking for Telluride in the Baltimore region and found the dealers smugly confident and unyielding regarding their price gouging "dealer adjusted market values." Was looking like that with Palisade Calligraphy until Bob Bell Hyundai in Glen Burnie began advertising they had signed onto Hyundai's "Shopper's Assurance" programs which pledges "transparent pricing." They started selling at straight MSRP- Hallelujah! They got my business. Maybe a limited run like the race track CIVIC I can see a premium for but regular production vehicles? I will never pay a bribe for the "privilege" to purchase. That is for suckers.
Digital 🔑 would be good for loaning your car to a friend, relative or child. I’ve always liked the exterior of the Telluride and the interior of the Palisade. Now the Telluride front is uglier and for me it’s the grill. I’m not bent about the lights. The big factor though is that only the Telluride is available with the power folding side mirrors and for that reason I would grab the Telluride. If the Palisade was available with power folding side mirrors I would choose the Palisade all day. The Palisade comes with free maintenance too.
@@TheStraightPipes True. BUT, the old amber DRL surrounded the headlight lens. The new DRLs are two vertical slits. That's a big enough differentiator and you would be able to tell the difference if you saw this in the rear view mirror.

I’m a Ford guy even work at Ford I’d totally drive this truck Kia has found a way to do something different listen to what people want and give them that I personally like the Explorer better bc of the RWD stance and short front overhang that gives u and better driving dynamic but this is the second best looking suv in just my opinion

Mind sharing which dealer in NJ had at msrp?
Personally I like the new DRLs. Also check out the terracota interior for the telluride! It’s night and day compared to the black. Telluride>Palisade in my book. Palisade interior try’s too hard to look luxury but doesn’t quite hit like a benz imo
I really loved the terracota interior, but it wasn't offered in the color car I wanted (red), in Canada anyway.
@@matokuwapi sand dune brown also looked really sleek. Depends on the year I heard.
A solo YURI review?! I’m not mad 😍😍
I think they took the front amber lights off of the Telluride for the 2023 model because most people hated it for some reason. I've seen Tellurides in person, but most of them were LX to EX trims.
At least they should have it as an option, the old drls were so damn cool especially at night
The Telluride has much classier, almost European lines compared with the Palisade which looks way over-styled and a bit chintzy IMO. Hard HVAC buttons and the new screen seal the deal. Telluride for sure!
I agree that the telluride is better , I am getting my 2024 SX tomorrow 😊
Hi I’m in the USA.
I’m wondering why kia/Hyundai doesn’t have bench seats for the prestige model. It’s something that is important to me. I want all the features and tech. That comes with the prestige model. Not down grade just to get the bench seats on a lower level.
Very good review and I love both of these SUV's but the prices are just way too high.
Yuri seemed so lonely in this video, the visor check was so much less fun all by yourself lmao
Leaning toward keeping my 2020 Telluride. I do like the updated interior with this new model.
With better looking interior and exterior, I prefer the Palisade Calligraphy
They need to turbo that 3.8 V-6 or put in the 3.3 from Genesis/Kia Stinger into it and make a powerhouse model like all euro brands do. Everything else meets the mark except for engine choices..... Kia Telluride 3.8L V-6 Turbo with 380ish HP and over 400 ft-lb of torque with performance modes and a killer trim package for 65K 😍
I was going to get a Kia but there mark ups where I live are insane, I just wanted space for my kids and apple car play so we got a Atlas. But Kia is making really nice cars these days can’t go wrong with one.
great video, but miss the banter back and forth. Y'all are both great car reviewers, but the synergy (?) is what makes the Straight Pipes special. (but being a good father is a great excuse for a solo review).
I agree with you that Kia should have left the headlights with the amber rectangle. I'd take the Kia all day because I like the look inside and out way better. I've driven both and I'm going KIA!
Great job yuri considering it’s by yourself I know you guys have done it before single handed but still it’s gotta be more work for you but if I had a choice I would take the red zo6 …. I mean the telluride over the Palaside I didn’t like the front end of the Palaside
The lane keep assist lines were a nice touch in editing.
Good job Yuri! It’s a great suv. Dumb they lost the yellow around headlights!
One of the better looking and appealing SUV that mixes luxury and ruggedness in spades.
I guess I’m one of the few people who never really liked the amber DRLs, so not sorry to see them go. Overall, the Telluride is a handsome SUV, while the Palisade looks like it’s trying too hard to look luxurious, and comes off as more of a floozie. 😎
I'm team Palisade. I like the higher class look.
The refreshed Telluride lookin great Yuri! Which would you choose--- '23 Telluride or '23 Sorento? Thanks!
Telluride
@@TheStraightPipes Thanks good sir! Looking forward to seeing the '23 Telluride on the roads! Also looking forward to testing HDA2!
this x line of the new 2023 Kia Telluride ! just like Yuri driving in the new one.
I prefer the manual tilt and telescope steering column ... quick and easy and saves weight. but i guess if you're extraordinarily lazy power is good lol
It’s great for seat presets when shared with another driver
I don’t care about all those software options but I need quality in body material, leather and dashboard material. For this price and mpg along with dealer markup prices on these vehicle ,I can go for Lexus/Acura/BMW/Audi/Benz/Volvo
Ya I’m not that worried about materials personally -yuri
Did anyone else catch the DRL switch/swap from the amber to the twin bars in the intro?
That is for suckers.
seems like I'm not the only one when using 90210 post-code when checking up configs :D
The thing I admire the most is the ability to have PEASANT BLOCKERS
The 2023 Telluride looks wayyyyyy better than the new Palisade.
I came here for the 2:00 mark and now I am happy. Proceed.

Imagine having 5-10k dealer markups? Cant relate.
This was made by the Canada gang
Why couldn't they make the new daylight running lights amber? Kia, that was an easy win!
Probably too similar to the old one
@@TheStraightPipes True. BUT, the old amber DRL surrounded the headlight lens. The new DRLs are two vertical slits. That's a big enough differentiator and you would be able to tell the difference if you saw this in the rear view mirror.
I think most people hated the amber lights for some reason..
they removed the bulbs in latest update for Hyundai's
It was in the palisade we reviewed. RIP BULBS
Beautiful truck but I think it’s a miss to make the Front running lamps now amber that was a trademark for this vehicle
I wish these were available in EU :( Pretty cool big suv

Don’t let the Kia Boys get this a hold of this one
What in the world is the point of a 10mm lift???
First off hope J-man baby get well asap!
Good Job solo Y-man!
Are these cars reliable? Seems like the most stylish “normal” 3rd row SUV on the market. If the reliability is there then its almost a no brainer if you care about driving in style
RIP Jakub 😜
Great review, does it come without the pilot seats ? A regular second row
Toyota Highlander sweats profusely*
It’s virtually nonexistent
Even the upcoming grand highlander lost in comparison to the telluride and palisade and we haven’t even seen the grand highlander yet
RIP grand highlander before you even have a chance to compete 😔
@@naveenthemachine Honestly, Toyota/Lexus has lagged behind in the auto-industry. Other brands like Hyundai/Genesis, Honda/Acura, and Kia of course, all manufacture cars that are up to date and do not feel like the mid 2000s. The whole argument of "Toyota makes reliable cars" are out of the window at this point due to the numerous recalls of the Rav4, Sienna, and Venza. Lexus' new RX got car mechanics and enthusiasts questioning its longevity; UA-camrs like Doug DeMuro, Savagegeese, and Redline Reviews were not too impressed with the new RX.
@@lane5686 Im the one who tried to warn other journalists the RX and many new Toyota products like the LX NX RX RZ BZ4X tundra sequoia crown would be dead on arrival. Yet no one listened. Instead they all laughed and accused me of being the internets biggest Toyota hater even though I own a Toyota
The fact they are repeating what I’ve been trying to say shows that they are ashamed to acknowledge that I was right. I even once asked in one reviewers livestream why Lexus Toyota keep putting out uncompetitive products that quickly get schooled by rivals before even hitting dealerships? Unsurprisingly they laughed
