Thank you for putting this video together! It's a little nerve racking having to clean an expensive piece of equipment, but you made it easy to follow.
@ Has done with me in the past mate yes! Once soaked you’ll just need the water pressure from rinsing to wash any loosened up grime. Just make sure you spray the meshing only and not the lettering. I don’t own the S1 itself, I can imagine any painted surfaces in Millimetres etc would probably peel with oven cleaner
Thanks very much for the video, I learned a lot from your expertise. I wanted to ask if you had any advice for cleaning the green protective lid, specifically which cleaning solution would you recommend? Again thanks for sharing your knowledge --Good job on the video by the way 👍 Cheers from Toronto.
Thanks for watching. Cleaning that plastic is probably the most challenging part. It scratches very easily. I just use regular household cleaner with a micro fiber cloth.
What you saw me clean here was probably a couple hours of laser time maybe more. I only cut leather so the spot build up is significantly more than wood, especially bass wood which is very soft. I don’t imagine you’ll have to clean it often, just pay attention to how dark the honeycomb is getting and if you are noticing the smell build up in the cabinet.
Can there come in dirt between the lens and the lenscap? I only clean the the lenscap so far. I almost give up cleaning the honeycomb, it`s more dirty than yours after just 30 min of use. Try Clean it one time with degrease and pressurewasher, but it never get shiney again. Thanks for the video.
Once the lens cap is screwed on there should be any dirt that gets on the actual lens, which is why I didn’t clean it. Cleaning the honeycomb is a real pain in the ass but it has made a significant difference in the smell in the cabinet. You’re right though, depending on the amount you use it and the material you’re cutting the char can build up fast.
Thank you for making this so detailed, yet easy to follow! I appreciated having it all in one place!
I hope it helps 👍🏻

Glad it helped, it’s pretty simple to keep clean just takes a bit of time.
Best thing for the honeycomb meshing is oven cleaner. If you can find an oven cleaning spray they work a treat and can be rinsed off with ease :)
Will it remove the residue without any scrubbing? If so that’s a game changer for keeping it clean.

Amazing, I’ll have to give this a go next time.
