A HUGE thank you - my wobble suddenly got worse and I could not figure out why. I was working on my bow hold so much, I was over compensating by holding to tight.
I suffer from the shaking specifically around the frog area while doing vibrato. the slight side to side movement of the violin produces that. trying to figure out the culprit. holding the neck in the “valley” between the thumb and the hand seems to fix this stabilising the violin, but if I move the thumb below the neck it just falls apart again
Try adding a little more weight to the bow and curving the bow away from your face at the frog. It will take the edge off the sound and help you maintain consistency. Try that and let me know how it goes.
