BLESS YOU!! You have literally saved me HOURS on redrawing all my lineart digitally after spending HOURS getting it perfect on paper!! If I could buy you coffee for a month I absolutely would 😭🙏🏼
Dunno why it’s so much easier for me personally to sketch freely on paper, even though digital processes make it so easy to erase mistakes! All my mocks turn out so stiff :( so this is really helpful!! thanks so much
Thanks for this!! A tip for you to help make coloring in faster, is to just make an outline of the single color you want inside the line where you want it to go and then dump the color into that spot to fill the whole space all at once. This makes it so that you don’t have to color in the whole entire thing by hand.
I've always felt more comfortable drawing and coloring things traditionally but getting them uploaded onto a computer was always a huge challenge! Especially if the scanner wasn't big enough for my sketchpad or a larger illustration. I will have to try this out on Procreate! Also, how are you recording your setup? It's really nice to be able to see you drawing traditionally and to see your hand movements while drawing digitally. I've used the Record-It! app on my iPad to record what I'm doing but you can't see my hands since it's a screen recording. I guess what I'm really asking is what accessories and equipment are you using to record yourself without the camera getting in the way while you're drawing?
Yes, the whole reason I came up with this method was because I just wanted an easy way to colour my traditional work so I really hope this can help you too! As for my filming set up, I have my camera on a tripod that has an arm that can extend parallel to my table, making it really easy to record over head shots! The legs of the tripod are all in front of me which helps them not get in my way (although my head does end up in a lot of shots instead though!)
@@EliottBulpett I recently bought a gooseneck tripod that clamps to my desk so I can have it hover over my work. I also purchased a desk light that also clamps to my desk for optimal lighting. Hopefully that will work lol. I guess it will be some trial and error.
Using multiply can work, but sometimes that layer effect will also prevent you from doing certain things (if you wanted recolour the lineart, or if you needed to export your drawing with a transparent background) so this just gives you a bit more control over it!
You’re welcome! Mine is a 2018 iPad Pro! Just make sure you get one that is compatible with the Apple Pencil and you should be fine for using procreate!

I'm glad it helped! I know what you mean, I sketch so differently depending on what I'm drawing on/with!
Agree! Like it takes me 3 hours to do a portrait with values on procreate but just an hour on actual paper
this was super helpful! I ordered an ipad recently so I'll definitely be trying this out :) super lovely illustrations by the way!! 💕
Thank you so much! I'm glad it helped! Have fun!!
Where did you order it from? I really want one but it's not available in store rn

Excellent tutorial!! Super clear instructions. Tells how long the whole process takes at the ending (valuable!)
This was really helpful as I had a very complicated photoshop method. Thank you very much
I'm so glad it helped! It's great that procreate has these settings as it saves so much time!
This is ruddy genius!! I can't draw for toffee on an iPad and this answers my prayers!! thank you x

Or just set the line art photo layer to hard light, that works just as well
Nice one! :))
Idk why but it’s not working for me
make sure colour fill isn't on in selections
Why not just put the drawing layer on MULTIPLY mode, instead? Same result, less selecting
