    So hard to find these days where I live but my grandma used to make amazing crab apple jelly. So dang good

      Yea they're such an underrated fruit. I've made crab apple jelly in the past, but these are this years winners.

      They're a must do when foraging. I can't wait to pick em again this year.

      I think i've learned just how good they are as an adult. Growing up in a city i didn't take notice of what wasn't on the supermarket shelves...

    Those are huge crab apples, I have only seen ones that are a max 1" diameter, I have picked some eaters the size you have there size this yr, wrapped the perfect ones in paper and put them in a box, not sure how long they will keep for but I really begrudge buying apples at this time of year. I have some cider vinegar so I might try this method of preserving them too, thanks for the inspiration :)

    How long do we need to boil?
