So after filming this I realized that on Colorescience's site they have this sunscreen listed as a PA++++ rating instead of PA+++ like it says on the bottle. I reached out to the brand asking which was correct and they said PA++++- I asked why it says PA+++ on the bottle & they just resent the same email saying it's PA++++ with no explanation 😂. Not sure what that is about wish they could've given me more details for you guys!
I read somewhere that certain countries haven't expanded their PA scale to include PA++++, so some brands have to market their PA++++ sunscreens as PA+++! Maybe that's why? 🤞
I know certain countries (like the us) require sunscreens to post a lower spf than they actually contain so maybe it's something like that? For instance the ilia skin tint I wear says spf 40 on the bottle but it's actually spf 48
I've been DYING for someone to review glow and bronze reviews. NOBODY has explained thoroughly the big differences with those two because I can't tell which to buy!! You're AMAZING ILYYYY
I actually ordered this in glow and have now been using it for a week and I love it. So far this is the first sunscreen that doesn’t irritate my eyes .
I love this spf.... I’ve gone through so many bottles! I tried the glow but since I have texture it showed it much more than I liked. The original is just perfect for my normal to sometimes dry skin :)
I’m medium skin and neutral undertone, I find if I don’t adequately shake the bottle it’s more peachy& obvious. I am oily/combo and I still like a glow I’ve been to try the “glow”. I used to used Dermalogica Prism Protect before I started living fragrance free diet 😏 and I really enjoyed it.
I purchased the glow, the stick powder, pressed powder, and I am extremely happy with these products. I apply the glow sunblock and then the pressed powder and it looks amazing. 👍💜
What a great review! I’ve been looking for a sunscreen that protects from UVA, UVB, IRA, and blue light and this one seems to fit the bill. You are very knowledgeable I appreciate it! :)
Thank you *so* much for swatching the three versions of the product and for blending them! I'm interested in this sunscreen, but none of them are my skin tone so I figured I'd need to blend a couple to get my shade, but I wasn't sure which ones would work best. You blending them gives me a better idea of which ones would work best.
This is my favourite sunscreen as I only use mineral, and the selection of mineral sunscreens are sooooo limited in the UK, like all the zinc oxide based sunscreens that EU brands seem to sell in the US are not available here for some reason. Every sunscreen seems to be chemical here
I just found this brand and I'm very interested. Thank you so much for your reviews. You are so easy to listen to and your makeup and hair always look so amazing!
Love ColorScience Face Shield. The glow was a little too glowy for me. I have combo skin, but I use the regular and many times I don't even need foundation with this SPF cream, it's that good.
I ordered the original after ur previous videos and it is so great! Been using it for a month. The peachy shade is actually pretty close to the murad physical sunscreen which had been out of stock for a long time. I dont need it anymore, the colorescience one is more reasonably priced and the tint has higher coverage than the murad one😄thank you Abbey!
I mix the bronze and or the Glow in my Flex SPF, gives off a beautiful finish and I never wear foundation anymore. However the Glow on its on, is way too much looking like a intense highlighter, but a couple of drops, just one or 2 mixed in with Colorscience Flex Medium works wonders. Love this stuff
those sunscreens are so pretty 🥺 i love that you use it as bronzer ♡ I replaced my foundation with pacifica bronzing spf 50 which seems similar to that bronze colorscience 🤓
Thank you for this video. I had asked you about the glow formula a few months back and you’d said since you have oily skin you wouldn’t use it. I, too, have oily skin but didn’t understand what you’d meant at the time. This definitely now makes sense! I’ll stick with the original!
Of course! Thankfully my mom had it so I could borrow to test out & include in this review! Otherwise definitely wouldn’t have wanted to purchase for my collection
Hi Abbey 😘 you’re on fire trying new products and let us know your opinion 👏 I am grateful for that! 🤗 I have the Glow and although I have medium warm skin tone I find it very ... golden metallic I shall say . It’s hard to describe it but I can’t wear it on its own especially with the recommended amount for one application. But under Make P:rem UV Defense me fluid works perfect if if use the Glow as the second layer. Nothing goes to waste in my skincare drawer 🤓☺️ I find ways to use up the products 💪🏼
THANK GOD for this video! I was playing this while placing a large order and I heard you say sunflower oil and cancelled everything. I am highly allergic. You just saved me a ton of money and disappointment. Thank you!
I have more spf in the fridge than any other skincare product😂 Besides that i use Pro niacinamide serum from Facetheory and their Exaglow serum. Tretinoide 0,020%, Vit c serum Timeless, Green tea toner, DHC Cleansing oil, Cerave facewash and Pm face lotion. Mthe colorescience body spf 50 is terrible dry and spreads difficult. Original faceshield sometimes breaks me out on t-zone where i’m oily, its the sillicone in my case. Going to get the 3-1 total eye spf! I’m a skincare nerd lol. Thank you for your review, very helpfull! The glow is not for my t-zone but i think i’m mixing the bronze with the original (first original and after a few minutes a layer of bronze). I use those as a BB, some cream blush, mascara and brows, done! I also tried asian spf but for my feel they are so thin that they don’t spread evenly thus the protection is questionable. I need to see and feel the spf, i have chronic skincancer so i need to be safe, not sorry
Thank you for this video it was very informative! But I’m confused? Did you say both the bronze & glow formulas are not a good match for textured oily skin, or just the glow?
Hi Abby I love your honest review❤️❤️ I am having a hard time with dry sensitive rosacea. I have tried Cerave tinted but too dark and got itches and redness. I am no second day of cetaphil tinted spf 20 , it seem to work well and no allergic reaction yet but not enough spf. How do you compare colorscience with dermatology tinted spf 46? I don’t wear much make up 😍
Is this Sunscreen suitable for dry skin? Even the mineral sunscreens that claim dry skin friendly, dry me out after few hours. Even with a heavy moisturizer underneath, I end up with a lot of texture. Finding a good mineral for dry skin has been quite a challenge.
Thank you for all your great info. I bought Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection after watching this video. Unfortunately it was delivered to my mailbox during a heat wave of about 104 degrees and sat in the mailbox all day and overnight. Do you know if this ruined it? I don't want to risk trying it if it's lost its effectiveness being exposed to such high temps. Thanks!
This Colorescience is so greasy and heavy for me, one of the heaviest I’ve ever tried. It’s so hard for me to use my bottle, I’m so shocked that many yt creators love it!

Thank you so much Abbey for this review, I have Colorescience powder and the Total Eye and love love love them, now I want to get the face shield too but they aren't cheap here but I am so tempted
I'm obsessed with you going into the ingredients I just subscribed lol. I'm planning to wear these with the color balm on top to make that my only skin routine (replacing makeup, not my full skin routine). I want the bronze so that it can almost replace foundation. Do you think it would work for more fair skin for a subtle tan glow? 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hey abbey right now im using the DRMTLGY Tinted Moisturiser 46 universal tint and love it soo much it does not leave my skin shiny and greasy, it has a kind of matt finish so im enjoying it (i have combination skin/oily t zone) i want to try the colour science face shield spf 50 original but i heard it leaves the face very shiny whats your thought? I wont be ordering the DRMTLGY one anymore as the customs charge is too much because im from the Uk so im trying to find the most similar SPF🥺 my skin is Fitzpatrick 2/3 thankyou!
Hi, I just received my Colorescience Sunforgettable sunscreen spf 50 (glow). I have a few queries. Can I apply Laura Mercier translucent powder over the sunscreen to make it look matte? Or would that affect the effectiveness of the product? Also, can I use the two finger method to apply this sunscreen to ensure that 1/4rth of a teaspoon goes on just the face? Is this a reliable method? Also my last query is would applying the translucent powder on top cause breakouts?
Can I give you some feedback please Abbey: when you review sunscreens you show the product going on, and then we see you in make-up, not necessarily wearing the product in question. Now, my point isn't to ask whether you could apply make-up after each individual product (which some people may want to see), rather to note that in some reviewers videos I've noticed that it takes a good few mins for the product to sink-in and the initial cast to settle/ disappear; I therefore wonder if you would consider showing a short '5 minutes later' piece of footage after you've applied them in the future?
It's AMAZING! It's pretty pricey but it really is water resistant and I haven't seen others that do that. It's not something you would use as standalone sun protection but it's great for topping up with a face of makeup. Wouldn't rely on it for a day at the beach though. It's expensive but mine lasted a long time. Until my toddler dumped the whole thing out to be exact lol
I bought the original and glow formulas to try, but haven't figured out how to make either work under makeup! They look quite pretty on their own, but when I layer *anything* on top (concealer and tint w/ or w/o primer) it seems like the sunscreen speeds up their breakdown exponentially. Any advise? Thanks!
I watched Dr Vanitas eczema routine video where she talks about this product. She says when you apply it wait for 10-15 minutes after massaging it in and then put ur makeup on. I'm not sure whether you've tried this already but if you do let me know how it goes cuz I only use this spf on it's own + have never used makeup after it
Thanks Abbey. I have been curious about this brand forever but with ethnic skin tone, the original and glow one scared me a lot. But the Bronze looks promising, i may give it a try.
Hey there. I know it has been five month but if you look up *dr dray tinted sunscreen* you will find several videos about it. She is a board certified dermatologist and my families saving grace when it comes to literally anything! Regarding skin. Budget friendly over the counter and good explanations. Check her out.
I have a medium tan skin tone and I was going to buy the bronze but it looks too dark. I was then going buy the glow but I saw many reviews and people looked like a disco ball because of the shine it left. And then the original is just too light for me. 😭 What do I do! I can't afford to buy 2
OMG ME TOO! That's the exact same problem I have😂 But just letting you know, they're making a new one which is coming soon with a shade range and there's one for a tan skin :) www.colorescience.com/collections/uv-protectors/products/sunforgettable-total-protection-face-shield-flex-spf-50?variant=39428058972342

This video helps me out a ton! Thank you very much! I just wanted to know, for a male individual with a medium/brown skin tone, what would the best option be? It’s all a bit confusing especially since I don’t wear makeup 😅
Hi Abbey, have you tried the avene tinted Spf 50 mineral? Would love to see a review please 💜 thanks for this review I like the original of the colorscience Spf 🌞😌
Hiii. I’m looking into getting this sunscreen and I was wondering how it feels on the face, cause most mineral sunscreens I’ve tried feel heavy and dry me out. I was wondering if this is the same?
Another great informative video - thank you!!! Quick question, do you remember the lip combo you're wearing in this video? I love this beige/brown shade, looks great on you! :)
Actually, the + method is good, but not great There are 4 ways of rating UVA rays protection, from worst to best (More common in the US) Broad spectrum: it's just... hey, there is some UVA protection here, we don't how much neither do you The PA method (common in asia): PA+ = PPD between 2 and 4 PA++ = PPD between 4 and 8 PA+++ = PPD between 8 and 16 PA++++ = PPD of 16 or higher So, when you have a ++++ you don't reallt know the real range, and anything bellow 12 is not really useful anyways, so +++ is just not that helpful if we don't know if it's above 12 (these are the guidelines for my country, the UV index is 10 for most of the day all year round, normal people that don't live in a frying pan should look for at least 8, so the +++) (Common in europe) Then there's is the UVA logo with a circle o the bottle, it means that the UVA protection is at least 1/3 of the UVB protection, and the minimum UVA protection has been met, so you know, but you also don't know (UK)Then there is the best method: the star rating system 1 star means it absorbs 20 to 40% of what it absorbs from UVB rays 2 stars means 40-60 3 stars means 60 - 80 4 stars means 80-90 5 stars means 90-100 So... nothing beats the KNOWLEDGE of how much protection you're getting like a star rated sunscreen, 4 or 5 stars are perfect The PPD is a in vivo test that measures melanin oxidation in front of UVA rays, a PPD of 12 means, for example, that it takes 12 times longer to oxidize the amount of melanin it would have if it weren't for the sunscreen
Hi Abby I'd like to try this product but still unsure. I am 49 (crows feet under eye's 😫) I am fair cool undertone. I'd like to use this is a overall foundation or under mdsolarscience bb cream. Which do you recommend? Original or glow?
Hi abbey , Im searching with your videos a sunscreens for a very sensitive and oily skin , i found the ultamd uv physical and this one colorescience original . Im using adapalene . I use the uv clear eltamd and cause me irritation and inflamation . What of those sunscreens recommended me ? Thank you so much , Your videos really inspired me 🥰
Hi. Thank you for this amazing video. Grateful if you could please swatch the Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield alongside the Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield FLEX. Curious about the shade differences. Thank you :) Much love
Have you had any experience with their customer service? My package seems to have been lost and they are not being very helpful, if anything I don't think they will even sent a replacement so there goes my hard earned money.

There are 4 ways of rating UVA rays protection, from worst to best
(More common in the US) Broad spectrum: it's just... hey, there is some UVA protection here, we don't how much neither do you
The PA method (common in asia):
PA+ = PPD between 2 and 4
PA++ = PPD between 4 and 8
PA+++ = PPD between 8 and 16
PA++++ = PPD of 16 or higher
So, when you have a ++++ you don't reallt know the real range, and anything bellow 12 is not really useful anyways, so +++ is just not that helpful if we don't know if it's above 12 (these are the guidelines for my country, the UV index is 10 for most of the day all year round, normal people that don't live in a frying pan should look for at least 8, so the +++)
(Common in europe) Then there's is the UVA logo with a circle o the bottle, it means that the UVA protection is at least 1/3 of the UVB protection, and the minimum UVA protection has been met, so you know, but you also don't know
(UK)Then there is the best method: the star rating system
1 star means it absorbs 20 to 40% of what it absorbs from UVB rays
2 stars means 40-60
3 stars means 60 - 80
4 stars means 80-90
5 stars means 90-100
So... nothing beats the KNOWLEDGE of how much protection you're getting like a star rated sunscreen, 4 or 5 stars are perfect
The PPD is a in vivo test that measures melanin oxidation in front of UVA rays, a PPD of 12 means, for example, that it takes 12 times longer to oxidize the amount of melanin it would have if it weren't for the sunscreen
Just ordered the original yesterday!
Hope you love it!
Thanks a lot. This is what I really need ❤️
Hi Abby I'd like to try this product but still unsure. I am 49 (crows feet under eye's 😫) I am fair cool undertone. I'd like to use this is a overall foundation or under mdsolarscience bb cream. Which do you recommend? Original or glow?
Candice, I really like the Original & the new FLEX in fair.

Very helpful video,thank you.
Hi. Thank you for this amazing video. Grateful if you could please swatch the Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield alongside the Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield FLEX. Curious about the shade differences. Thank you :) Much love
Is there a good skin line and sunscreen that you could recommend that don’t have niacinimide. I can’t use it at all. :(
Vanicream has some great options! I have lots of other sunscreen reviews up and many don’t have Niacinamide! Elta MD is one that has some options
Abbey Yung Thank you so much! I will definitely be watching those other videos and look in to Vanicream.
Have you had any experience with their customer service? My package seems to have been lost and they are not being very helpful, if anything I don't think they will even sent a replacement so there goes my hard earned money.
Yea their cs is unfortunately is known to be pretty bad.
Hello, can you do a new video with all of them and the nee matte version. Thanks
How does the feel of the colorscience compare to DRMTLGY on the skin?
A little thicker!
Im sooooo sad this isn’t available in Canada 😭
It's available. I just purchased 2 bottles online from Vanity Lab in Vancouver.

@@NiervsAwesome! if you end up buying it from Vanity Lab they have 20% off on long weekends. So maybe wait until Easter long weekend if you are able to wait. I just bought some for the family day long weekend and just put some on today and love it!
Great review! Thanks a lot !🤗🌹
Can you review MDSolarSciences sunscreen please??
It’s on my list 😊
Oh yes please I second this!
Am i the only one who gets extreme pilling using this? I can't even apply makeup on top of it, it cracks horribly
Same here ! I had tried the Cerave Hydrating sunscreen first and my face peeled worse than the colorescience one so I think my skin just doesn’t like sunscreens lol
Very useful channel 👍🏿
Poor info delivered on the bronze colour.
