*WONKA* IS SUCH A SWEET MOVIE AND I'M NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT THE CHOCOLATE (reaction)

I went in knowing this was a musical, and I thought that would make me like it less. but they did such a fantastic job of incorporating all the songs very well with having them sounds great and also being really good for the narrative. Also this movie was so weird over the top but I am so happy they went all the way with it as it worked for what they were going for. It also had some really sweet moments I was not expecting, really enjoyable movie overall.

Was fun to watch you watch Wonka. Glad you liked it. FYI, from what I've seen, Chalamet's singing is quite good. Growing up in NYC, he applied and was accepted to a special high school for music and the performing arts. In his senior year, when he was 17, he played a lead character in the school's production of the 1960's musical Sweet Charity. If you do a UA-cam search for "chalamet performing sweet charity" it should be one of the top returns (6 minute clip, thumbnail showing he and his female costar sitting close together on a small chair.) Its an amateur video with sometimes an annoying echo, but it really shows his broadway style singing and acting chops.

This movie seems more like a prequel to the original (1971) Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Chalamet's acting and costuming are very much like Gene Wilder's in that movie except more innocent, before he got cynical. You should take a look at the OG.

Same, he’s always amazing. Ngl, he’s the best actor ever. I also love another amazing actor that’s Rick Moranis who actually plays Seymour Krelborn in the 1986 movie Little Shop Of Horrors. If you haven’t seen the 1986 Little Shop Of Horrors before, then I insist that you should definitely watch it cause it’s an iconic movie with an amazing soundtrack
