Wondered where the comments had gone 🤔. Really enjoyed watching the panning, looked great fun, but glad you didn't find too much gold, you might have jetted off into the sunset never to be seen again. 😔😭. Great information about the area as usual, thank you. Have a great week. See you soon. 💕🐾 xxx

I have long since run out of superlatives to express my admiration for what you give us each week in your vlogs... So I'll just give you both heart ❤️ felt thanks for the wonderful warmth and happiness you give to soooooo many! ×××

Good morning lads, I love the research that goes into your vlogs. You've cheered me up this week and I thoroughly enjoyed this week's installment. Great to see you looking well and happy. I want to go back to Scotland now. love, Melbourne, Australia.

Thanks guys! Long time viewer, first time comment. You guy’s always bring a smile to my dial. I’ve been doing it tough lately and you guy’s are on a short list of UA-cam that inspire! Thank you!
This brought back a memory from when I worked as a geotechnical engineer in South Lanarkshire. A technician and I had been in the Leadhills area assessing a landslip's effect on a minor road. On our way back to Hamilton, he asked me to stop the car. He got out and went down to the Clyde, I presumed, to relieve himself. On his return, he said, "Oh well, maybe next time". When asked for clarification, he explained he had noticed on one of the old Ordnance Survey maps that a gold nugget had been discovered at that spot in 1879. "So, I never pass there now without taking a look, because, you never know, lightening can strike in the same place twice." Clever boy!
This was fun to watch guys, I got bit by the gold bug about 50 years ago. I understand this was done for the fun of it as it should be. My partner and I do it mainly to get away from the city and suburbia Depending on where you are many times you find precious and semi-precious gemstones as you are panning if you know what to look for. When the gold rush was happening they were taking the gold that could be picked out of the pan with tweezers. So now about all you will find now is the fine gold. It's an enjoyable hobby for us, I hope you had an enjoyable day out on the creek
Well done (Shaun?) for the excellent subtitles, I have crap hearing but the subtitles on this channel are really professional and probably one of the best on UA-cam!
I love the fact that Shaun was really shy and awkward in front of the camera when you first started out on Silver Fox, now he’s the one mugging the camera and cracking jokes. 🤣
I found your channel by way of Holly's Cafe Boat, And BoatTime. I absolutely enjoy your videos. I started watching while you lived on the narrowboat,, so those are the episodes I'm continuing on with, while also watching your new ones. I never knew it was so controversial to decide to "move". But I don't care where you live, You have become my perfect UK tour guides, and I'm not trading you in now! You show us the better side of tourism in the UK, the little forgotten towns and the activities with-in them, and the history that surrounds them is great.
Hey lovely too see your still making the videos. I've been a weekend panner for over 5 yrs now . Just got back from Tyndrum. Had a blast . Mainly pan in North Wales ...where I'm from . Found my 2nd ever nugget last week . Keep up the great work
Loved the gold panning - I have panned in South Africa and here in Australia - like you some tiny flecks only. Love the scenery thank you for sharing from Brisbane Australia.
What an interesting video. Full of history and information. Didn't know there was gold in Scotland and I was born there. You learn something new everyday. Really enjoyed this and Scotland is a beautiful country so the scenery is great. So glad you are enjoying it and sharing your experiences with us. It brings back happy memories for me. Keep well and safe. James.
That is so neat that you can go out panning where you are! I pay some of my bills every month by panning sand from my beach or the little river by me. You bought yourself a nice XP pan I see. I have one and love it for my fine tiny gold here! You did a great job for your first go! Kudos! And what a beautiful little spot for it! I always love watching yous guys but I really enjoyed todays show! Thanks!
Love the vlog. Lucky for all your viewers that you didn't find the big nugget. No retiring yet for you both and we still get to learn some history and be entertained by you boys. Give Otis a pat please.
At a local shopping centre there was a gentleman who had an exhibit on panning for gold. He even taught people how to do the panning. He had sand and gravel in water that we could try our hand to. Everyone who tried it was guaranteed of finding at least 1 fleck of gold. I found 4 flecks and he put them into a small clear vial with some water so you could shake it up and go "look what I got!" to all your friends. The water weighed more than the gold so now really worth much. Unfortunately I lost the vial somewhere on the rubbish heap of time.
You guys are having so much fun and it's tons of fun watching you. Stay safe on all your adventures and keep making us smile and laugh out loud. There's no greater gift one can give or receive. Best wishes from Bavaria 🙋🏻♀
Thanks again for another interesting and fun video. Always a joy to watch. Missed Otis, but sure he is ok or you would have said. Watching from a very wet Wales! 👍
Great video..you fellas are so much fun to watch 👍😁.Scotland looks stunning..We are from Nova Scotia in Canada and it looks a lot like the Cape Breton Island area of our province!
Thanks for an interesting info and seeing the beautiful countryside around where the gold had been found in the past. Nice to see you two up to your usual humorous repartee. I did miss Otis, I shall be truthful. Y’all be sure to hug each other for me! See you next time, from way over here in Portland, Oregon.
:) Now this is right down my alley :) I love love love fossicking. I've moved on from looking for gold and go for gemstones now (though my gold pans are always with me because why not)

We have tons of pyrite or fools gold in central Texas where there are HUGE deposits of granite. You can see it sparkling in walkways that are made of granite sand or on lake shores where the beach is made up of granite sand.
Oh what a beautiful day and scenery! That looked like so much fun to just get into nature and running water, doesn't matter if no gold! Up a mountain from Boise, there was a big gold rush! But alas , it was Fool's Gold -- that's why they named the Mt BOGUS Basin. Love your history lessons!
I watched your blog about people being abusive to you both. think that is deplorable. My father used to say to me, 'Heather if you've nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all.' I could honestly give a shit about anyone's sexuality. Love is love and any form of love is far better than hate at any time. I am so very sorry that you've been subjected to any kind of homophobia. I honestly thought that kind of ignorance had ended long ago. There are some really nasty people out there. It was pleasing to hear that the majority of people commenting were lovely though. Try concentrating on them, and ignoring such ignorance ok....easier said that done i know but i don't want any of you getting hurt or it causing you to be depressed. I am proud you've chosen my home country to base your home in. Sorry i cannot afford to support you right now but my husband and i have hit a bad financial time right now and were struggling. I have loved you both, from the very first time i saw you on your canal boat, Love from Heather, Born and bred in Bonnie Scotland.
John Gordon and Marion were poisoned by Isobel Sinclair in 1567. Perfect research. I would never have checked that but it seemed like you were giving me a challenge LOL! Your gold panning looked like a fun way to get out into nature and play in the water a bit too! Great Vlog guys, I loved it.
