I’ve been wondering precisely about the issue of capturing in flight audio nice and crisp while still doing everything else a helmet has to do. Very interesting option, thanks for the review guys!
Andre, I use mine all the time and get crisp audio. It's how I get my audio for all my flying videos. I did do a review a while back but Eddie at MicroAvionics keeps improving things all the time.
Myself and Paranoob were the reason reason for the vlog mod on the PM100. We worked with Eddie at MicroAvionics to get the modification so we could also use the rear connector for the SENA. I also designed a mic soc ( I got one sent to Judson) from MicroAvionics that really cuts down on wind noise. I've been using my MP100 since 2014 and wouldn't fly without it and I still vlog with mine on my deltawing trike.
@@FlyingHomeProductions we had the SENA rewired to the low profile connector on the back of the ear cup. The connector is an extra input. I'll try and find the video that shows it in more detail.
so you use the avionics + sena? I am confused?? Why would you do that? Can you reccomend me a specific setup (money is not a probem) want the best of the best
@@FreshPanda97 What are you confused about? The SENA is for Bluetooth to Bluetooth comms. The Headset has bluetooth for Phone connection. The PM100 with Bluetooth is the probably the best all round paramotor headset on the market.
I've had this same basic setup that I got from Wisconsin Flight Sports for about a year. Same headset just different helmet. I do however, like that the GoPro mounts are specially designed and come already installed on the Windy helmet. My helmet is an Icaro Solar X and the front profile is a little slim for attaching the GoPro mount. Overall though the headset is great and gives good audio without a lot of tinkering.
Just started using it, I have this exact same helmet that I got from Aviator. Golf Foxtrot 22 have told me before about the dip switch #3 and im glad i learned today about the #1. Thanks a lot for this video !
I'm running the same headset just with a hero8 and media mod. I need to check the one pin and see what its on. I also got the bigger soft gel cups that help with motor noise bleeding through. Thanks and happy vlogging everyone.
FYI, the dip switch settings that "up" is on and down is off right :P you had it the opposite way around by the look of it.... what's the price of these helmets?
I don't understand what's wrong with mine. If I have DS 3 on so I can vlog, listening to music also is impossible because of the amount of motor noise coming through the speakers drowns it out. The mic is essentially zero noise canceling
I have this same issue! On cruise power I can tune the motor out and listen to voices or music via the headphones, but when I'm climbing out or trying to gain altitude at all, the motor noise completely drowns out any radio or music sound. Quite an issue when my best lz's are inside of class d airspace and I am legally required to maintain two-way conversation. edit: I have my ds 3 off though, so I'm not sure why mine gets so much motor noise
@@dejavukrewe icom a16b-withBluetooth. I'm currently have it paired with a sena, works flawlessly over bluetooth, only caveat is having to press the push to talk button on the actual radio instead of a remote button on the helmet or wherever (but I don't mind that at all, I just don't want the wires dangling around)
@@dejavukrewe and I am definitely in the market for another flight helmet, for vlogging.. because one thing I haven't yet managed to work out is capturing intercom on to GoPro..
The micro avionics are well over rated personally an the peltor ear cups with hard plastic seal that goes against you head are shocking specially at the price and your mic set up is probably one of the best i went with a freecom 4plus system on some sonis 3 ear cups as they have more of softer seal that sits against your head an i found they are better at noise cancelling. @@GolfFoxtrot22 if they didnt have the hard plastic seal an had a little more sound deadening they might be worth it i do find with this sport if there's some they can cheep out an still charge top money for they will

That’s a really cool backstory and completely rad that they were able to make the mod. I would like to see how you connected the sena to the pm-100s
