      @@comicsetc5788 Yeah and where are Adam Kubert, Sean Murphy and Marc Silvestri in best pencils for Eisner awards? I picked up Absolute power today but it is a bit of a flop so far.

    My dream comic announcements at ComicCon would be for Serg Acuna to takeover art on the post-Taylor/Redondo era of the Nightwing book (Acuna costs me too much in variant covers, stick them on a book i'm already buying please DC!), a new Tim Drake Robin ongoing (dream writer/artist would be Luciano Vecchio) - looking at their amazing Marvel Voices Infinity Comics for Iceman, they'd be perfect for the most recent Tim Drake era. Would also love an ongoing series for Nicole Maines or Jadzia Axelrod - whatever characters they want to write for whether it's Dreamer, Galaxy, Hawkgirl, etc. Another Jon Kent Superman ongoing or Jackson Hyde Aquaman mini-series would be amazing too.

    Tom Taylor deserves the love and to sweep up at the Eisner's considering it's their final Nightwing run right now. Can we get them instore at Comics Etc for a comic signing please?

    I'm enjoying Blood Hunt. I took the chance and went deep on the pre-orders. I didn't realize when i started that with tie ins it would be 55 total issues, but its been worth it.
    I'm Feeling Tom Taylor / Nightwing will win some categories at these awards but holy hell the competition is big. Poison Ivy has been a treat. Worlds finest has been my most disappointing "didn't start collecting and now it's too late to get issues" and wouldn't surprise me it the team went away with a few awards.
    I'm super keen for Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter.

      @@comicsetc5788 Other than Miles Morales being a vampire (probably in the short term, let’s be real) it certainly has a “everything is wrapped up in a nice little package” quality to it.

    Taylor would be good.
    Id like Venditti, Al Ewing or Spurrier.
    Definitely not Tom King.

    Five years without a Justice League book is crazy.

      I think they took the year the last Justice League comic run (Vol 4) started, not ended because it ran from 2018 through 2022 finishing in a Dark Crisis event crossover. Or they're time-travelling Terminators sent back in time to eliminate the bad Terminator sequels.

      @@comicsetc5788 speaking of delays; how do you guys find sales of Batman: Off-World? I never hear anyone talk about it and it’s one of my favourite reads apart from the multi month delays haha

    Controversially, i'm gonna go the opposite, and say i do NOT want a Justice League comic announcement at ComicCon - at least not one set in the comics present-day. the last main Justice League run finished in 2022, and the Titans started up as the premiere DC super-team only last year. I'm hoping DC actually commit to Titans being the top team for at least another 3 years or at least hold off until somebody has a really fresh, unique idea of something that only the Justice League could be used for. i think the Justice League of America: Rebirth line-up was the last intriguing line-up that i took notice of, and i've really enjoyed what i've read of Tom Taylor's Titans so far. i would be down for a World's Finest timeline Justice League comic alongside Waid & Mora's Batman/Superman book because that's set in the past & we've had a World's Finest Teen Titans already. i think it'd be a good way to give people a Justice League book without devaluing or shortening the Titans reign.

      while I agree titans has been great and dc have been supporting it so well….it just hasn’t found an audience like a justice league title would…..

    • @jshie20
      @jshie20 20 днів тому

      @@comicsetc5788 yeah DC's also made some ... questionable choices regarding creative art team with Titans that i suspect have hurt the book's long-term sales. Lucas Meyer has been doing a great job, but trying to fill the shoes of Nicola Scott who did the opening arc is a near impossible ask. Also Nicola Scott disappearing off the book without so much as an announcement (at least not one i could find) was a gradual disappointing realization as a buyer that she wasn't just on hiatus for a couple issues with a fill-in and was indeed fully gone from the series. i also had a friend who was picking up the Titans single-issues from the Direct site over the trades initially because of the Bartel Variant covers, which were phenomenally beautiful and it just boggles my mind DC didn't do everything in their power to extend that contract, given how well the consistency of having Bartel's covers worked for Rowell's She Hulk run. And then swapping them out with Chris Samnee (who's art is suited for Daredevil & Kirkman's Fire Power) was just a bad move on DC's part - the gritty, grungy cover art style he has just doesn't gel with what Taylor & co are trying to go for with the Titans. i will say Meyer doing the main covers for Titans #14 & 15 has at least given better aesthetic consistency between the cover and inbook art.

    No to Tom Taylor on Justice League. He writes the occasional good story but then turns preachy and too environmental. I would go for Jeff Lemire.
